Tony has to have the best sarcasm demeanor I've ever seen in the history of film. He's both unbelievably and hilarious obnoxious and cracks me up more than anyone snarking in an action film.

@Corr Terek

Eh, dude Thanos's power level wrecks everyone regardless of who they have with them. Shit, before "Infinity" in the Avengers comic he made an appearance and there was no explanation for how he survived the events of "Annihilation" he wiped the floor with Thor and controlled Hulk with little effort and sicced him on the rest of the Avengers. It took a plea to some upper level cosmic figures that the Avengers were able to win.

The Avengers need to keep two things on hand in case of Thanos.

1 (one) Cosmic Cube, 1 (one) Peter Quill

The next time he confronted Thanos, they were both in a collapsing universe and Quill had zero working cosmic cubes and Thanos was wearing pants.

They both come back alive somehow and neither of them will talk about what happened.

So. Yeah.

Clearly, Quill and Thanos saw something no Titan nor human should ever see.

And then they both killed him and vowed never to speak of it?

Well, there has to be a reason why Quill and Thanos came back and Rider didn't.

Probably he's Death new lover and the reason Rider and Death are boinking is why Thanos has gone back to being pro-Galactic Conqueror and no longer any plots to draw her attention.

Yes. That was my point. It has more impact if Thanos curbstomps the Avengers at full strength than if the Avengers have to go through the Black Order gauntlet first, is what I'm saying, because Avengers who have faced the Black Order are probably not at full strength.

I like the Black Order, but I'd really rather see a free-for-all, everyone against Thanos where Thanos just owns them all without even really trying.

We haven't actually seen MCU Thanos do very much besides look incredibly badass. It will be interesting to see how they handle him in terms of power level and power set.

The only problem with having Drax interact with the "main" cast is that, since he spent nearly all of his action scenes in this movie getting his shit pushed in, anyone he actually lands a hit on will look like a chump.

That's not really accurate. He got curbstomped by Ronan but the rest of his fights he pretty much dominated.

Going back to Iron Man for a sec I have this headcanon that would support Tony knowing the name "Elphaba"

Here goes: In First Avenger, when Cap runs out into modern Times Square and Fury talks him down, there's a big prominent poster for Wicked on one of the buildings. I joked to myself that Fury and Stark had a bet on whether Steve would realize he's not actually in 1942 when he wakes up, and lose pays for Wicked tickets. Tony lost the bet.

Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the Great

He might know the name. He just seems like the kid of guy who'd think of the Wicked Witch first.

And if I claim to be a wise man, well, it surely means that I don't know.

@Corr Terek

The Avengers never fought any of their opponents at full-strength dude. Hell, Captain America even had to fight The Winter Soldier after a tiring battle with other soldiers in finale of CA: The Winter Soldier.

They could likely use that in the opening fight that they fight Thanos in a fight where he displays his powers and once it becomes clear that they're outmatched the Black Order steps in to clean house. Second act of the film has them fight Black Order and use Cosmic Cube to get edge on Thanos since nothing else workds

EDIT:

They can also have the fight with Black Order be similar to the last part of Infinity.

Cap didn't seem tired at all in that scene. Neither did Winter Soldier, who had done some fighting himself in the last few minutes.

There's still the fact of the matter that MCU establishes the power levels. Captain America while able to fight Loki still noted that he was pretty strong as hell.

It's implied that Loki might have been holding back in that scene, too, to believably get caught as per the plan.

It's hard to say what the plan was. Remember that Loki's entire scene in Germany wasn't just trying to get caught: he was a distraction to keep the heat off Hawkeye.

He had a plan in place for such an outcome in which he does become captured, but whether that was the A Plan or a contingency is debatable.

Loki's actual plan is hard to make a track of; presumably because, like in Thor, he didn't really have One Master Plan so much as he had an objective and few Plan Ideas for how to reach it. MCU Loki is more skilled at modifying his plans on the fly when new information becomes available than just following one core plan from beginning to end.

If Iron Man had never shown up and Loki had gotten an All Clear from Hawkeye during his fight with Cap, it's entirely possible he would have just taken his cue to vanish into the night and regroup with his team.
