That it's similar to Broken Hero though they are unrelated suggests it should be renamed too.
Bumb. I see three options discussed so far
1. Cutting for not being a trope
2. Merging into another trope
3. Renaming for clarity.
Have I missed anything?

Looks like that's all the options.

The second option will need an article specified or else we'll end up disagreeing on which article to merge this into.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThere are a lot of tropes mentioned earlier. I'd look at the relationship with this trope.
Clock is set.
Regarding the second option, suggested pages to merge into so far was Broken Hero and Heroic Self-Deprecation. Although I still don't believe the definitions are really merge-able...
- Broken Hero: Someone who retains their heroic qualities despite having been through much suffering
- Heroic Self-Deprecation: Someone thinks they are worthless despite the numerous evidences that prove otherwise
- Broken Messiah: The All-Loving Hero is not as all loving as they thought they should be and becomes disturbed/worried about this.

So, this trope seems like a combination of Fatal Flaw/Mr. Vice Guy and Internalized Categorism. It's definitely a Sister Trope to Heroic Self-Deprecation, though I don't think it's quite the same thing.
Broken Hero seems completely unrelated.
Maybe Minor Vice Overreaction? 90% Good is Not Good Enough?

Reclocking; this one will stick.
Seeing nothing done, let's lock up.
I don't think the description of Broken Messiah is really merge-able with Broken Hero, nor Heroic Self-Deprecation, but the name does seem to invite misuse. A clearer name should be sufficient, IMO.
