I got Valiant Hearts on Xbox One for free.
the systems can be a little bit overwhelming at first since there are a lot of them, but the game's pretty fun once you understand how they work.
it's a pretty underrated game.
Oh yes, Valkyrie Profile is a really great game.
I probably don't have to mention the ton of JRP Gs we're getting next year but have a article with japanese creators talking a bit about 2016.
The only RPG I'm playing now is Xenoblade X. Loving it so far, though it had an unfair Early Game Hell.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Thought I should do a post on a few of the JRPG's coming out in 2016:
- Bravely Second End Layer
- Dark Souls III
- Dragon Quest VII&VIII
- Final Fantasy XV
- Final Fantasy Explorers
- Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna
- Kingdom Hearts 2.8
- Nights of Azure
- Nie R Automata
- Odin Sphere Leifthrasir
- Persona 5(even though the producer seems unsure on the date and that's not even counting with the Europe delay)
- Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final(most likely not in Europe for the next 2 years)
- Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness
- Valkyria: Azure Revolution(most likely 2017 for the rest of the world)
- Valkyria Chronicles HD
- World of Final Fantasy
- Dragon Quest XI
KT opened a facebook poll for possible GUST anime collaborations. Facebook Poll
I've never played a Gust game but I'd like a Fairy Tail RPG.
So Eurogamer just published a long interview with the president of long-time RPG developer Falcom, creators of such classic series as Ys and The Legend Of Heroes (and its sub-series Trails in the Sky). It touches upon a lot of interesting topics, such as development history, plans for the future and lots of questions from the fans. Check it out here.
Being an Ys-fan myself, I found it very interesting (Ys 5 maybe getting remade? ), and it's really nice to see how much Falcom cares for its fanbase and the legacy of their classic series. Though it makes me sad to be reminded that the Brandish remake still is not available in European PSN.

Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia! As long as we get the next two Trails Of Cold Steel I will be happy. God damn that game was good but That ending though!!!!. I keep hearing how Sky 2 didn't sell too well and get depressed every time.
But on the topic of obscure JRP Gs, Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth is freaken GOOD! Old school SMT combat, an evolution system that is very close to SMT fusion systems. The difficulty on hard is a little harder than Nocturne normal. The world is umm Devil Survivor crossed with Persona 4 crossed with Raidou Kuzunoha Vs The Soulless Army. The only complaint I have is making the highest level evolutions are harder than they should be.
It's only February and it's going to be hard to beat for JRPG of the year for me, Cold Steel 2 or Persona 5 might be the only ones that can but who knows if they will be out this year.

I'm glad to hear Cyber Sleuth is good. I've been wanting to play it for a while, I just don't have a vita or ps4 right now ):
I have seen PS TV s for like 40$ before might want to look into getting one of them.
The game works perfectly on it.
Could get the other really awesome RP Gs on it like Trails In The Sky, Trails Of Cold Steel, and Persona 4 on it too. . Also the Atelier series, FFX HD etc.

We still don't have a european release date for Fire Emblem Fates, right?
Bravely Second is coming out soon but I'd really like to know when my only other planned 3DS game this year is coming.
So i just started a game of Skies Of Arcadia :Legends.
I've had a strange relationship with this game... I saw an LP of it from a guy i used to watch, thought what the heck and checked it out...I fell in love with the game.
From that day on i called it "my favorite game that i've never played".
Fastforward to 2016 and i realized something....i got a wii (got it from my bro for helping him move). It can play Gamecube games...
So after a good chunk of change was spent getting the game (and the gamecube controllers and memory) i have finally started my journey in Arcadia.
Right now i've just beaten the first Admiral and gotten the red moon crystal....and so far....it's lived up to that hype i built those years ago.
Let's see if it can hold up the rest of the way....
7th Dragon 2020 recently got a translation patch. I didn't know much going into it, but it seemed like a nice hybrid between Etrian Odyssey style dungeon crawling and a more traditional RPG with a plot and stuff. I'm not entirely sure why they have random battles at all, given all the dragons that need killing.
Hey, I have to ask if you guys have ever played the Baten Kaitos series. It's a really obscure RPG series. I remember playing the second game on the Gamecube back when I was a kid. I really the characters, the setting and the plot. I wonder if anyone else has played this?
I've played it. Don't remember anything about it other than it having a weird combat system, but I played it.
I just remember the horrid voice acting.
The second game had better VA work in that it was actually competent
Well, despite the weird combat system, I really did like the game. I didn't really mind the voice acting, probably because I was very young. I loved the characters and the plot. The only thing I regret was that I did not get to finish it.

Baten Kaitos 1 is one of my favorite JRPG's ever That link is to my thread for the series and my playthrough of the first game.
. Love the music love the combat,, love the plot, love the characters. Even like some of the voice-actors.
The Baten Kaitos games are tied as my all-time favorites. If I absolutely had to pick, I'd say I like Origins better, but they're both excellent games. And yes, the voice acting was really bad in the first one, but you can turn it off outside of battles, and the rest of the game is more than enough to make up for it.
There is a fandom, for the record. We're tiny, but very dedicated and relatively active. There's also a surprising amount of fan works out there, which is also nice.

Anyone know anything about this 7th Dragon III Code game that Sega recently advertised on their Youtube channel? From what I can tell it seems to be some kind of dungeon crawler?
