I had all kinds of Disney games when I was a kid. Let's see what I remember...

I had A Bug's Life, Tarzan, The Emperor's New Groove, Aladdin: Nasira's Revenge, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, and 102 Dalamatians: Puppies to the Rescue. Oh, and Nightmare Ned.

Actually, I think some of those are on PSN. I should look into them.

Fun fact: both the A Bug's Life and Buzz Lightyear games (and other Toy Story games) were developed by Traveller's Tales. Yes, that Traveller's Tales.

Ducktales, natch.

Mickey's Speedway USA was also decent. The GBC version of the soundtrack was especially memorable for me.

Tried a little of Disney princess: My Fairytale Adventure, but I couldn't get into it as much as Enchanted Journey. Ah well.

(Part of me was hoping that Zara would come back...)

I remember the GBA Incredibles game to be pretty good.

I'm particularly fond of the GBA Kim Possible games, in which the grappling hook (among other gadgets) opens up some possibilities that you don't normally see in platformers. Also, Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension, developed by a team who worked on one of the Ratchet & Clank games, and borrows many elements from that series...but it works for Phineas and Ferb just as well.

I played My Disney Kitchen and Disney Friends, mostly. I remember liking the game for A Bugs Life, too.

Looking for some stories?

Just a quick question to anybody who cares about Disney video games. They've done platformers, action RPGs, puzzle games, and especially wallet takers. But what other genres do you think Disney should work with? I'm thinking a turn based RPG in the style of the Mario RPG's, or a strategy RPG like Fire Emblem or Disgaea, as a way to play as many Disney Heroes, or maybe a collaboration with Koei-Tecmo to make a Warriors style game.

Fighting game.

They even teased us with it in Runaway Brain and that was BACK IN THE NINETIES.

It's not like cartoony fighters are unheard of (Clay Fighter, anyone?) and Disney has a range of 'serious' and comical characters alike to keep things varied.

Isn't Disney strongly opposed to having any of its characters in a fighting game, and that's why Dissidia has Final Fantasy characters instead of Kingdom Hearts like it was intended to? Hopefully they've lightened up on that.

I doubt they have, but this is an exercise in fantasy anyway.

Even though it may not fit the company's sensibilities, a Disney fighting game would be awesome. Between the Animated Canon, TV shows, and the other properties at their disposal, Disney might be the one company that could have a stronger lineup than even Smash Bros. As also mentioned above, a strategy RPG would be another way to take advantage of that and would be really cool as well.

And I still want Sugar Rush Speedway to be an actual thing.

Hey you guys know how we were supposed to get an Epic Donald game?

You guys ever wonder if it would've played like a longer and more refined version of Donald Duck: Goin' Qu@ckers?

I'm not exactly sure why Epic Mickey 2 failed, but if I had to guess it was either because the lack of promotion, or because they didn't add any more obscure characters, for us to be interested in. Part of what made Epic Mickey so great was that it was about Disney's history and forgotten characters, rather than focusing on popular characters.

Epic Donald would have been great because if you look at the old Don Rosa and Carl Barks comics, they have an extensive family tree and lore that Disney could re-explore.

Edit: All this time, and I realized I never added a two there!

@Iniuria Tails:

On the contrary, Nomura suspected that Disney would say no to Kingdom Hearts Dissidia, so he never actually asked and decided to go with Final Fantasy instead.

We get so used to Disney overpromoting their biggest of big names that we tend to overlook their nasty habit of underpromoting everything else.

There are loads of Disney productions that were well received but still didn't go far because Disney didn't give it any real attention or promotion beyond releasing them.
