One thing is we're still unsure of a Season 2 for this show. I do praise it for using the stupidity of it all to it's advantage.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceSeason 2 will happen. Whether we like it or not! I just want to see if this show can make some improvements from here on if possible.
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.This Aunt Grandma special may have just been made to curb someone's strange fanfic ideas and Rule63 fetish.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceHer solutions may be quicker and more practical, but she's still being a total smug 'female dog' about it.
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefAgreed. ROYALLY.
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.Really. But damn, they really know how to create a beautiful female character if they want to.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceSeems like this episode was both a case of Parental Bonus and a lampshade on the fact that most of Uncle Grandpa's "solutions" to kids' problems are really out-there. I can't really fault Aunt Grandma for doing what she was doing, but she was definitely being a jerk about it.
On a side note, Aunt's design reminded me of the female characters from Spumco's cartoons, i.e. Ren and Stimpy.
The second episode was nuts too. I've always believed that crossing Uncle Grandpa badly would mean that he'd go Nightmare On Elm Street on someone's ass.
So she's like a Jerkass, sexy Mary Poppins.
This isn't the first time Uncle Grandpa taught a kid a lesson through fright.

New eps are back. Let's just get this week over with.
Internet troll: Well, this is... a somewhat effective way to explain cyberbullying, but it's petty much irrelevent ever since Snyder got replaced. Pretty good "Tron" ref. Aaaand, it's not even a real kid, so there is no lesson to be learned. Idiots. But this episode was meh.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justice...
... I'm not sure I approve of CN's decision to host a new show for 5 new episodes every weekday of a given week. Some people are used to catching a premiere only once a week, and may not be able to catch the other 4.
I know, especially when you work part time.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justice... or full time.
x4 Meh... I like it better when there are NO FORCED MORALS for kids to learn from shows clearly not meant to do that shit like this one. So it was pretty jarring to see that in these 2 episodes that aired today... Almost.

Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.So, I watched an episode at a friend's house a couple days ago, and it was actually decent. Something to do with Uncle Grandpa turning into a dog. Fun and surprisingly very cartoony for a CN show. Definitely understand why John K likes it. The cartoon's probably influenced by his work artistically and over-the-top wise. The girl y'all were talking about looks kinda similar to Sody Pop, one of his characters.
Like Breadwinners, this cartoon gets much hate and I turn out to like it.. Sigh

Supports cartoons being cartoony!Hey, I like this show, too - and part of me doesn't understand the hatred of it, either... Other than that it sometimes acts a little too stupid for its own good. Then again, at least for me, Ren And Stimpy was kinda guilty of that, too.
And even despite all of that - I still try to watch this show regularly. I feel that way mostly because we could use a few more cartoons like this (that are done well, of course. Otherwise, I see where the hate comes from.).

Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.Yeah, the show seems like it can get too dumb or immature for some, but I would rather watch a cartoon like Uncle Grandpa than ones that copy Adventure Time, try hard to get a huge followings, or have "relatable" people who get into "realistic" predicaments.

Supports cartoons being cartoony!BTW, why do people seem to have more love for this show and less for Sanjay And Craig?
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI like S&C. I have a feeling it may be because of the fact that Nick has a bad rep for having cartoons rely sorely on toilet humor (and we all know the reason why)

Supports cartoons being cartoony!Because CN did it first.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceWell, I meant R&S and to a lesser extent Spongebob. Specifically the former since it had/has a big influence on tv cartoons. Close ups, spotty background colors, and of course, toilet humor. Which Spongebob has/had. R&S made those things pretty popular.
I don't know how many times I've heard someone say a cartoon is like the "John K style" sorely because it's sorta weird, cartoony, or uses Stock library music. Same with Spongebob. Except when called the "Spongbob style", the show would also feature two main characters that are equally dumb.
Everything is a copy man lol.
Supports cartoons being cartoony!x5 I admire your honesty. I don't understand how you do it, but I can see that the Adventure Time style of things is starting to wear thin... I guess that's part of why I like this show, surprisingly. IT IS something different from the rest.
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.Thanks.
I guess you're right about Adventure Time style cartoons not being as popular as they were before. In fact, I see more cartoons or tv shows in general trying so hard to get a huge following on the Internet. Like having characters reference hashtags, rap, social media, do the latest dance craze, etc. Geez!

Supports cartoons being cartoony!
Tell that to the writers, but yeah - what you pointed out is why while I like LPS (2012), I'm well aware it ain't as good as Friendship Is Magic, period. If anything, it should try to just be a better show than Family Guy, which it definitely is, IMHO - just makes plots come together and focus on the characters worth our time (THE PETS) so we don't get another show about some kids going to school that people forget about for good reasons now more than ever... That goes double for anime that do it all the time, too, IMHO!!
Either way, I'm really trying to talk about Uncle Grandpa... Because it seems no one else will.
