Such a great episode.
- The Alfred part was really funny.
- Superman totally could have tried to find Martha in under an hour given how fast he can find Lois.
- Kryptonite bullets > Kryptonite gas
- Better Aquaman cameo than the actual film had.
I was worried about the episode because I actually love Batman v Superman and usually I can't stand stuff when they make fun of something I like though HISHE has never had that problem. Now the Honest Trailer and EWW I wouldn't be able to watch.
It was funny and it had somethings I thought could've made the movie better and others were funny. I loved after the credits with Lex Luthor saying: "the bells have been rung; ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding." Batman gets in front of him and says: "What does the Lex say?"

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureMostly HISHE feels like they're not being mean spirited. A lot of other sites that do movie comedy, after a while just start to feel dickish. Maybe it's because HISHE produces less content.
I'm fine with mean-spiritedness in these types of shows. Stuff I like gets ripped on all the time, but it doesn't bother me any.
Yeah I never thought of HISHE being mean spirited when they did these How It Should Have Ended even for movies that I love.
Honest Trailers and Cinema Sins I get the feeling those can get mean spirited if they dislike the movie so I'm not looking forward to their videos about Bv S.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureIs diferent, with mean sprited is that sometimes it feel there is a vein of doucheness around, like they rip apart the movie because they feel superior and it just ruin the whole thing.
really? I mean I dont like cinema sins because of that but honest trailer is just pick up weird thing hat even the fans thinks to time to time, I mean they love Mad max and yet they are right when describing the plot as "Mario kart in hell!"
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"If that's how it comes off to you, then yeah I get why it would feel different to other people.
is a subjective thing I guess, to each their own
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Pretty much yeah.
Honestly I think it's pretty easy to justify Kryptonite bullets not working, for the same reason Silver Bullet doesn't work that well in real-life: Kryptonite being a rocky substance, it's probably not that easy to forge into bullets, and just sculpting it into bullets would make for terrible ammunition because of the different weight and consistance.
Aside from that, I usually don't like HISHE, but... yeah, for the most part that one was amusing^^ I especially like the bits about Superman's mother and the bomb at the Capitol.

A big rocky spear worked just fine. The Kryptonite bullets don't need to be lethal to anyone except Superman, and just them breaking his skin en masse should be enough to cripple him.
I was mostly annoyed that Batman kept dicking around, carrying Superman through the whole building instead of simply using the spear.
It annoyed me too. It made sense for him to start by using Kryptonnite Gas since he didn't know the effects it would have on Superman. But once he knew these effects were temporary he had no reason dragging the fight the way he did. Especially since Supes was getting more agressive.
A big rocky spear worked just fine.
There is a whole lot difference between using something to make a melee weapon and use the same substance to make gun ammunition. The difference of weight could have made it hard for the bullets to have the right accuracy, and you DON'T want more chances to miss against someone with super-speed.
I guess it depends on how much the Kryptonite bullets need to penetrate him to actually cause him lethal damage. A Kryptonite equivalent of a paintball round would be enough to cut his skin (source: myself. Ow.) Would a hundred of those cause enough poisoning to make him die?
Additionally, Kryptonite bullets have already existed in the comics without much design issues, and this is a movie where time-traveling speeders run to warn millionaires who dress as bats, so I think we could excuse a bullet or two.
I think a major thing is that in the film Kryptonite in general is less potent against Superman. It's obviously still his Kryptonite Factor, but small fragments had long been recovered and they were acting as though such small amounts would have little effect on him except break the skin. This is in contrast to the comics, where Superman buckles if he is in proximity to even a sliver of Kryptonite. I think this helps a lot with the very concept of Kryptonite, as in addition to being Unobtanium it's far from an instant win condition against Superman. Batman knew that, which is why he made sure he was armored up because pissing Superman off is not something you should take lightly or casually.
And I agree, HISHE tends to be more good natured and affectionate parody, while other video review channels like Cinema Sins and Honest Trailers often resort to Manipulative Editing to make it more mocking in tone (such as showing three lines of dialogue over the whole film said with a passive face and labeling it Dull Surprise, ignoring that they are emoting before and after those examples).
I was just giving a theory to explain why Batman couldn't do Kryptonite bullets, not complaining about a plothole. And as KJ above said, Kryptonite isn't quite as dangerous to Superman in this movie as it is in the comic.
True, but their habit to make a "realistically the characters should be dead" kinda always leave a bad taste in my mouth. Purely personal of course.

Clearly the solution is to shoot the Kryptonite rocks in a slingshot. Usopp v. Superman, go!
I'd pay to see this fight^^
Killer Croc throws a Kryptonite rock at Superman.
It is a big rock.
XD I would also pay to see this one.
"Kryptonite bullets have already existed in the comics without much design issues, and this is a movie where time-traveling speeders run to warn millionaires who dress as bats, so I think we could excuse a bullet or two."
to be fair, in the comic kryptonie is everywhere so is not the same thing, is clear here is way dificult to use and a bullet can be dodge, also is clear Batman is running out of time.
And I like HISHE use the Martha joker right from the Start, I think that with all the broken base, they play more or less safe(which isn saying much but is nice to see)
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Personally I think that Batman should have made some arrows out of the Kryptonite to use with a crossbow, while keeping the spear as a last resort. Take up position high up in a rooftop or something, deploy armed drones or robotic weapons to distract Superman, and snipe at him when his back is turned.
Loved that HISHE. The Alfred part killed me.
Can't believe I'm saying this, but in contrast to this film, I really hope Wonder Woman shows up later. She'll be a third opinion to Superman and Batman during each episode. Might be a problem if they have the cast of Stephen Strange or the Suicide Squad in the booth, but hey, it didn't stop the Avengers from cramming into the booth.
...what's "EWW?"
Didn't he almost drown when he tried to grab the Kryptonite-spear?

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).
Okay I actually laughed at this. mind you it's because while they raise several dumb point among good jokes HISHE kind of does that all the time.
Also shocked anyone remembered there's a thread for this film specifically.
