Huh? "Closed on account of insufficient participation."?

I don't think that means anything. I tried changing my vote and it seemed to work, so... just ignore?

As I said in another topic, I suspect that Eddie wanted to reply to a holler but accidentally posted in the crowner text template (or whatever) instead of the addpost box.

Dewicked the page. Didn't cutlist yet in case some examples were salvageable.

There's a few unless they're already on Broken Pedestal.

I pulled the examples that were salvageable and moved them over. Cutlisted the page now.

I see the cut request was declined. What's the proper course of action here?

Remove the examples and then request again?

It may have been a slip-up on a mods part.

Generally, a better reason for cutting is the next step. Here's what I gave as a resaon:

As per discussion in TRS here: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=1374288086093317300&page=1, not a trope. The page was simply a list of reallife pepople who kids mighrt have heard of who had something unpleasant happen to them In-work examples are either Broken Pedestal (if the person looked up to turns out to be a complete jerk unworthy of any respect) or Warts and All (if they turn out to be simply a regular person, with normal flaws). Good examples have been moved to the proper trope.

This tells the cutmaster

  1. that it's not just one person who thinks it's bad — there's a TRS thread about it
  2. Where to see the thread.
  3. A brief summary of what is wrong with it.
  4. That cutting the old page is the final step in the process of fixing it, and that all the others have been done.

[up]Fine, except the actual cut request says it's "not a rope."

Many of the Real Life examples could go on Former Child Star.

^ I don't think that's going to cause a cutmaster to decline it if they would otherwise accept it. tongue

They could, but the point remains that it's largely just a list of real people who happen to meet some single criteria. That's not what we're about. It's trivia, at best. The Real Life section on the Former Child Star page needs a through clean-up — it's fully 50% of the page (and that's including the definition section in the other half. Counting only the examples section, it's around 60%.)

The page's been cut. Requesting closure now.
