You know, I haven't seen any footage confirming that Godzilla's the one doing all this destruction. What little the ads show of him he's just wandering. It might be a Frankenstein Conquers The World scenario where Godzilla is blamed for the attacks of a hidden monster.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatI doubt he could just walk into that city without someone's house getting stepped on.
That plot is more in place with showa old school Godzilla then anything after that point, and since they seem to be going for serious disaster flick with this, I seriously doubt that's the case here. It's more likely both are destroying everything in their way. I do not think this is going to be a movie with the more light hearted parts of Godzillas history in mind.
That's just sizeist. You assume because Godzilla's big, he's malicious.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatGodzilla accidentally bumblefucking around the city and breaking everything by accident sounds fun.
Oh really when? That's basically what he does in The Return Of Godzilla. All he wants is the nuclear energy, he's not interested in the humans until they start shooting at him. Until then he's just exploring Tokyo with curiosity, since in the thirty years since his last attack, the city has become much taller.

That last shot of him sent chills up my spine.
Watch SymphogearThat last shot quite very distinctly reminds me of the T-Rex from Jurassic Park as it attacks the electric jeeps.
Also Godzilla in Godzilla Returns is doing a bit more then simply exploring. He is looking for food. His behavior is more predator given he actively attacks facilities or hindrances to that goal. That also includes him attacking a Russian Submarine early in the film. He even responds to certain signals like wild birds. He is more a hungry territorial animal then happily bumbling and exploring.
This film I expect cities to get trashed not just by monsters moving through them but also by the inevitable epic monster fights.

Who watches the watchmen? The real question is, did the dog make it?
"Oh great! Let's pile up all the useless cats and hope a tree falls on them!"Anyone else get the feeling that Godzilla is emitting continuous EMPs? The falling jets, Bryan Cranston's stone age line, and a couple other things I've noticed seems like it's pointing to that.
It's heavily implied it's the MUTO who's using EMP blasts.
Watch SymphogearWow. The scenes from before are a lot more interesting now that they added some context.
And we got a closeup of the Muto's open jaw, very Alienlike. The red thing people were speculating was an eye looks more like a bioluminescent streak to me close up.
Oh, and there's definitely two kinds of Mutos.◊
The non-winged one is the size of Godzilla.

Ok, that one was by far the best trailer yet.
I need to see this movie right now.
I've been keeping up handily.
Just one thing to say, really. The first trailer is the best, bar none. IMO. Oppenheimer just SEALS it. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/11070179/godzilla_2014_teaser_vo_bandes_annonces_hd/
Yo.@Maxwellelvis: Just a slight correction for your post, besides what Tuefel already said. The Godzilla we see in Return Of Godzilla is a different character then the one in the original film, despite the rather odd implication in the American Dub that somehow they're the same character despite the first one disintegrating into nothing at the end of the first movie.
On a different note, if this movie ends up a huge success {Which it probably will}, meaning that Toho would give the rights to other Godzilla monsters to Legendary Pictures, which monster or monsters {If it's more then one} would you personally like to see pop up in a potential sequel?
I kind of want to see King Ghidorah or Biollante.
Who watches the watchmen?Rodan, King Ceasar, and Anguiras. And then Gigan.
King Ghidorah. Intergalactic Serial Killer for the win.
Followed by Mecha Godzilla or Destoroyah, to complete a trilogy.
If you meet me have some courtesy, have some sympathy, have some taste. Use all your well-learned politesse or I'll lay your soul to waste.Clearly we need to save Destroyah for a third movie. Be the Bane so to speak.
