That one you because that's what most English speaking fans know it as.

Yes, my entries has been merged into Manga.Kiniro Mosaic and Manga.Kin-iro Mosaic is now a redirect. But look at the histories it seemed the tropes on those two pages had little overlap... which was a bit puzzling.

The translation I saw missed out on the pun about "read the atmosphere". Translating it like that works both for reading weather and the mood, rather than "read the situation" which is less ambiguous.

I think this was the first time I actually heard about Tsurime mentioned in an anime. She didn't say Tareme, but it was rather much implied.

Karen is definitely that kind of character. I didn't think kissing friends on the cheek was normal in England, I thought it was more of a mainland thing, but this is Karen.

Poor Alice goes between being glad that her friend from England is there and jealous that Shino seems to like her better already. Alice for best character!

I liked the Ayaya! Ayaya! scene, and the green pencil.

Also, Aya x Yoko is a thing, I guess.

I think it says that Karen thought Japanese people actually said goodbye that way. This isn't France, Karen.

I laughed loudly at the pencil part, Karen values her promises very seriously, also loved her jacket.

I'm just take it as an example of I'm Taking Her Home with Me!. That said, the jealousy is a completely different matter...

Bilingual Bonus here, but Karen writes her name wrong.

Going by what she says her name's probably 花蓮, but she writes 可憐 instead, which means "pitiful".

Well, not that it matters, because her name's officially in katakana.

The Shino Club (Shino Bu), huh? Well, you don't really need to know Japanese to get the pun (Shino's given name is Shinobu).

I...still can't get used to the awkward English though. Karen's pronunciation is especially horrid.

Regarding to what "Karen" means—have you watched Zettai Karen Children? What she wrote actually means that Karen—this is one of the words where the Chinese and Japanese meanings are easily confused, as the Japanese meaning is no longer in common Chinese use.

What's wrong with the English? It sounds pretty accurate to me and I think the voice fits. Though I guess the English being American English and not British English could be an issue since they aren't American.

The English is good, perfectly coherent and correct despite the obviously-Japanese-attempting-American and not even English English accent. Too bad they couldn't find actual Brits to do the English voices, though.

The English is mostly grammatically correct, yes. There are some awkward phrasings, and incorrect inflection is rampant, but it's probably the best English I've heard spoken in anime.

They should have gotten Gotouzer-sama for Alice or Karen.

I didn't know who that is, so I looked her up on youtube. Her English/Engrish is maybe a little less natural than the English in this show, but her broken Japanese with some kind of southern accent and amazing choices of syllables to emphasize is one of the most wonderful things these ears have heard.

Its Yuko Goto and she is fluent in english.

My god. I actually can't understand most of what Kate's saying... that's talent. XD Especially since I know Yuko Goto from other works.

Odd. My phone's dictionary states that its meaning is the same as its Mandarin counterpart (i.e. pitiful).

Checked some other dictionaries, and this is what I got: "poor; pitiful; cute; sweet; lovely"

Anyway, made a mistake with the second kanji of Karen's name. Karen said her name means "beautiful flower", right? Well, it seems that the second kanji in her name is bloody obscure or something, so I can't type it out. It's in my phone's dictionary though.

The one I typed before meant "lotus".

The grammar's perfect as you guys say, but my beef is with the pronunciation; specifically, the inflection/intonation/whatever.

I think Karen's my favorite. Quite the bold character. Shinobu doesn't let up with her ditzy foreigner love either.

@Hanabira: Grammatically allowable, yes. Natural-sounding, not always - and not just in pronunciation.
