Dude you can see the seeds of the type of humor for those films way back into Clone High!
I just saw this movie and I loved it! I just loved how they animated the lego blocks into a movie and I was quite surprised by the ending where it was revealed that a young boy was playing with the lego pieces the whole time while the story is having a parallel with his relationship with his father at the same time. But, it was a great ending!
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Glad to see another fan of the film. Definitely check out Lord and Miller's other work when you have the chance.
On the note of those two, which of the themes to their works to you like the most?
Clone High Theme by Abandoned Pools
Raining Sunshine by Miranda Cosgrove
21 Jump Street Main Theme by Rye Rye & Esthero
Everything Is Awesome by Tegan and Sara feat. The Lonely Island
22 Jump Street Theme by Angel Haze feat. Ludacris
Man, do their films have really catchy theme songs huh?
Same here. In fact, I'm really glad that for once the villain wasn't utterly defeated and beat to a pulp/killed, because it darkens our view of "us = heroes, them = villains, kill all the bad guys." I remember watching Yellow Submarine when I was in fifth grade, and it left a huge impression on me that the villain of it repented and learned how to be happy. I'm hoping this film does the same for kids these days too.
Showing the whole driving force behind this conflict might do so as well. Assuming they rewatch it, because I have a feeling that first time the twist done blew their minds.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatMan, that look on Will Ferrell's face when he says "So...President Business is the Bad Guy?" is HEART BREAKING.
My various fanfics.I think the big reason the ending works IS the big twist.
It would have seemed silly and out of place had it just been the world of LEGO, but...
Damn, it makes me feel things. That's a damn rarity when it comes to movies.
I WELCOME the necromancy of this thread! :D More more!
I know, it's like that scene in Monsters Inc where Sully accidentally scares Boo and gets a good look at what he looked like to all those kids he scared.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatOoh! This was a very cute movie! Emmett was SO ADORABLE .
oh and I was surprise it was so entertaining. I did not except that.
Supports cartoons being cartoony!A lump was in my throat during that moment, and that's when I knew this would be one of the best movies of 2014.
.... and I'm also worried for its sequel.
Saw this a few days ago.Next to Guardians, best movie of the year(at least animated.). While I will admit the showdown between Emmet and the President is amazing,I don't think it gave me a lump in my throat like Unikitty's reaction to Cloud Cuckoo Land being destroyed. That scene was depressing(didn't help too much when Batman basically insulted Emmet for trying to help.).
My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013I saw a few shots with these 2 in them when seeing◊ Guardians, and thought, ".... I just saw the 2 lead actors of the two geekiest and most incredible movies in the past few years in the SAME MOVIE. This VERY surreal!"

I'll just come right out and say that it feels more satisfying to see the Big Bad repent and help The Hero in the climax of a story. It's too easy to get caught in the trap of thinking that the other side is just completely awful, without anything positive to their personality. But seeing the two leads actually attempt to understand each other, throw away their animosity, and act in concert for the benefit of everyone... it's what I want out of life. It's what I feel people should want out of life.
There's a reason that The Lego Movie is still my favorite film of the year. It wasn't just the toys I grew up with and still play with. It was that it said the things I wanted to hear and want others to hear.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. You know, I think the biggest thing about it is that Lord Business was always the Bad Guy, but he was never the Antagonist. Similarly, Emmet was the Hero, but he wasn't the Protagonist.
I am finding this difficult to articulate, but basically: The Man Upstairs was the Antagonist to Finn, the protagonist. Emmet being the hero in spite of, or perhaps because he was a nobody in comparison to Lord Business, who towered over everyone else and made all of the rules, ending up being a totalitarian dictator, was never the big conflict fueling the movie; that was always Finn and his Dad. Emmet confronting Lord Business at the same time The Man Upstairs discovers exactly what he was to his son exemplifies this: Emmet's words to Lord Business are, in a very real sense, Finn's words to his dad. Lord Business turning good and helping repair everything is representative of the reconciliation between father and son. Emmet was the hero, but it was never his story.
That, I think, is the beauty in The Reveal. And I don't think the ending would work without it. In fact, it would seem horribly cheap and cheesy without it.
The video game never shows the live-action scenes. So it does feel a bit more cliche and forced.
Well they want people to go see the movie.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatWhy would it, though? Besides, technically speaking...in that game, YOU are Finn.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. The last level even takes you into Finn's bedroom!
You are Finn, dammit!!
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I AM FINN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aren't you cold, Finn?
Looking for some stories?I am Groot.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!
I just recently watched Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs.
You can really see the seeds for The Lego Movie and both Jump Street films in it.
