I say include 8. 5-7 is illustrative, but it's a bit dry without the punchline. Also think we should edit it so it's on two rows, two panels on top, two on the bottom.
But even just 5-7 is an improvement.

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. Not sold on either the current or the suggestions, as they are pretty text-reliant.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIf we want to keep it literal, but go textless, we could use a screencap from this Segata Sanshiro commercial. Somewhere around 18 seconds in.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I'm leaning towards pull. A Visual Pun seems like it distracts from the trope, and the Dilbert one is just text.
Check out my fanfiction!I like that, too.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! The only real way we could picture this without much text is if we had something like a "No Girls Allowed" sign placed over another that says "All Are Welcome!" or something like that.

Maybe something involving The Ancient Mystic Society of No Homers?
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.- squints* The guys in the current are Photoshopped in too, aren't they?
Ugh.
I don't see why we suddenly need a textless image for this trope. We have plenty of tropes illustrated with a few panels from a comic strip, after all. It would be ironic if people in this thread were moving the goalpoasts for acceptable imagery
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Textless and just text are not binary choices.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHere are some results that came up from GIS "moving the finish line": [1]◊ [2]◊ [3]◊
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI personally prefer the Dilbert to any of the literal "moving the finish line/goalposts" images, even if it is wordy. The trope is only rarely used with real, physical goalposts. It's a trope that's most often expressed using words, a page image that uses words to demonstrate it isn't bad.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I think the Dilbert strip also manages to get the intent across. Pointy-Haired Boss is just trying to fire the guy and is obviously creating new requirements until he gets his way.
I like it when comics can be flat out mean spirited.
But that's a story for another time.OP:
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.
Yeah. I like that much better than a literal example or a visual pun.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Looks good to me.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!I'm happy with that.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.for 15. I think this trope needs text unless we're going for a literal image like those in 12.
If we were going for a literal image, 12.2 would be my choice.
Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMI'm fine with the Dilbert one. I think it's better than a literal example.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Another from me.
Alright, it's up, potholed and tagged. Caption or no?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWe really need more text?
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI vote no caption.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes. No caption needed.

The image currently on Moving The Goal Posts is a Visual Pun that requires a photoshopped-in text balloon to work. I suggest we replace this by an image that actually shows the trope, such as panels 5 through 7 from this comic.
