This may be complaining, but why is it abbreviated? Just saying OOC says nothing about the trope, whereas Out of Character does.

For that matter, isn't it frowned upon to abbreviate titles?

OOC is a common acronym that stands for "Out of Character".

OOC is widely accepted and much easier to write. It's not going to mixed up with anything else so I don't think that there's no need to change anything.

With a thousand wicks I don't think you can really argue that the name is preventing usage.
