The Order of the Stick (7) doesn't quite work for me as it relies too much on the text.
However, the current is not at all bad. I personally don't mind that it combines two pics, and the text is easy to read and it's quite brief.

n°5 is not bad, but as eedwardgrey 3 said, not sure it it'll be visible enough at 350 px.
I definitely don't approve of n°7 because the text font is too small and a chore to read, and as X Fllo said, it relies too much on the text.
And IMO, the current pic is very good, good balance between visual representation, and short text. So overall, this would be a lateral move at best. Also, whichever pic wins, I definitely support putting the other in Image Links.

I don't think #7 relies on text at all. If you remove the bubbles it would still make just as much sense as any other suggestion.
I don't think any of them is an improvement over the current, though.

Taking your argument in consideration and looking carefully at the pic again, I have to admit you're right. However, I still leave a strike against that pic, because the (bad IMO) art style makes the pic too crowded and it took me several seconds to realize what was happening. Both current and n°5 are clearer than it.

I think the main problem with that one is that the relevant person for the trope is the one not appearing in it.

I am not sure what is going on in @7, and even if the text weren't necessary it distracts from the image. Voting nay on that.

I also think 7 is confusing. The Donald-like-Duck one isn't too bad but I wouldn't say that it's necessarily better than the current.
