Suggestion: Ear Worm

I recently spent a few days with this song in my head. Would it work for this trope?

It's kind of funny, but I'm not sure how it illustrates the trope.

Ehhhh...kinda-sorta.

I could probably try something similar with the dreaded "Song That Never Ends", but that takes time.

I get it, but it takes too long to figure out. I read "SHIT", but it took longer to see that it was Rick Rolling.

Can't see anything there.

I can't find it right now, but there's an Oglaf strip where a bard uses "the power of song" to curse a robber. That would fit this page.

Plus, the thing with Rockrolling is that at this point, it's less about being an earworm and just being a meme.

One thing I like better about the suggestion is that it actually makes the trope aspect explicit, rather than depending on knowledge of the memetically catchy nature of the Katamari Damacy tune.

I don't really care for the current...the pic by itself doesn't make clear that the music's in his head.

Yeah, that. The current is basically Just A Car And A Caption, and personally I don't recognize a set of na-na-na sounds as the soundtrack of a video game I've only played once.

Well, I'm not a fan of the four-panel Oglaf strip, so I guess we're at an impasse there.

The last panel could work on its own, but it loses a lot of context without the previous ones.

As it is, though, it's incredibly bloated, and I'd keep the current over it.

I disagree wholeheartedly; a convoluted pic that actually gets the trope across is better than a succinct one that fails noticeably.

A crowner's looking like a good move soon.

Everyone that's voting down the current - keep in mind that we need a good ratio for another option to make a switch. Granted, it's still way early, but if the ratios hold steady the leader won't have nearly enough consensus to make the change.

I think that just panels 2 and 4 from Oglaf would be the best choice. It shows the bard singing and then the bandit complaining. The rest isn't needed. We don't need the context in which it's happening. The trope is illustrated regardless using just the rightmost 2 panels.
