Sounds about right.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. What this guy said, only I'm Spanish instead of French. I was born in the Catholic faith and educated at a Catholic school, but only recently have I decided to take my religion seriously. It has influenced my political views, so I tend to defend positions that lean on the rather conservative side, with some (which I won't spell out but you might have guessed) being controversial. In some cases I feel a bit like a reactionary, since no major parties in my country are currently conservative enough to defend some of my views. I am also pretty damn proud of my country and don't trust other nations too much.
Economically I'm a bit more undefined, since I feel like I don't really know enough about economy (yet) to take a solid position. I do lean more towards defense of capitalism, since I find that every other alternative proposed so far has been unviable at best, disastrous at worst.
In a way, I blame the Spanish left for shaping my politics. It is increasingly more radical and aggressive, which I believe has sort of made me swing to the other side as a reaction. Perhaps a bit too far. I don't know.
In any case, I tend to keep my views to myself, since I don't want any trouble. Most of my friends here probably don't even know anything about this.

"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."I've been a Christian for over 20 years and what is this I don't even
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel....I do hope that's a joke about the devil.
"Any campaign world where an orc samurai can leap off a landcruiser to fight a herd of Bulbasaurs will always have my vote of confidence"It better be.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. So, I recently outed myself elsewhere in this site's sphere of influence as 'conservative', but I'm not entirely sure if that's the case. I mentioned that I only considered myself as such because I prefer not fixing what isn't broken and sticking to routine, but the thing is, I'm actually rather a-political, all things considered.
I prefer letting everyone do their thing while I adapt to outside circumstances, so if anything, my opinions on keeping things safe and routine are just extensions of how I'd prefer to handle my personal life. Similarly, I said I was 'libertarian' because I prefer less regulation, but again, that's only because I'd rather my affairs aren't meddled in by forces I have no control over.
Plus, I'm aware that, since I'm British, me saying that I'm conservative is not quite the same thing as an American saying the same thing. I'm definitely socially liberal, there's no doubt about that. Economically... not so sure. I support Capitalism, but only in a rather cynical way, because, human nature being the way it is, Capitalism is the only system that works because it takes advantage of human instinct rather than trying to subvert it. Plus, I'm probably being a bit of a hypocrite overall because I want to find work in the public sector someday.
Because of all this, I've always said I'm more of a Centrist, really. What do you think? I'm kind of confused about myself here.

"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."Do you really want to stoop to their level?
Now, I may be a simple politically non-alligned guy (so, I'm only here as a guest of sorts, if it's allright with you guys), but it seems to me that the best way to produce quality media for conservative people is to, well, invest and improve in better skills, software, research and so forth, and, more improtantly, to avoid having hyperbolic anchors and journalists on your side (or at least to make sure they don't go overboard with a solid editorial policy) - in terms of news programs - and wittier entertainment (though this may not work in your country - it's the US, right?).
I don't know about the level of politically-motivated monopoly (if there is even such a thing in the US) in the industry of entertainment, but usually the best way to make sure a given political ideology doesn't get its voice heard louder than usual (and this applies to all sides of the political spectrum) is to, quite simply, provide more creative quality, or, at least, to provide a more appealing look which doesn't turn off people from a given ideology in its entertainment. And, most of all, create interesting and attractive characters some people can relate to.
But again, I'm not well acquainted with the current area of conservatism in the US other than the fact that it is losing due to the current omnishambles that is ongoing within the Republican party.
What you said seems to point towards Centrism, with a few key policies that align with Conservatism. Is there any party in Britain you've felt you could relate to?

American conservatives are not as media savvy as liberals. Also, Hollywood is located in California and has considerable power (just ask Georgia).

Non Indicative UsernameI don't think any American movie industry is going to rival Hollywood anytime soon. Because of lack of infrastructure, experience, and reputation.
If you stoop down to their level, it won't make you more popular, it will only make both side unpopular.
What do you mean?

So... how about that election, eh?
It's been 3000 years…as a moderate left winger, i was not pleased.
MIAI admit the left-wing media's shock, panic and doom-and-gloom prophecies have been quite satisfying for me to read. There's the overall sentiment of things not having gone according to plan.
Conservative troper? That's me! I didn't think there were many around, to be honest.
And yes, the salty tears after this election are going to keep me running for a long while. After months and months of being told he has no chance, and that all the polls have him down, and that Clinton would win in a landslide, this is easily one of the happiest days I've had in my life.
I wonder what's appropriate to put into forum signatures. I do pixel art and stuff, like my avatar!I agree I'm so happy. I stayed up until about 3:45 AM just to see who would be president.
I was sick in my stomach when it looked like Hillary was going to win in a landslide.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureI'm mad, but not because Trump won. I'm mad that he was the last Republican standing in the first place. Otherwise, I'd be so happy about this victory.
It's been 3000 years…I wasn't a fan of him at first. I actually voted for Cruz in the primary but I always said I would vote for him if he was the nominee.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureI was a pretty big Cruz fan right up until around the primaries; I still like him, but I'm a bit more muddled in my opinions, and I'm overall quite happy Trump managed to succeed.
I wonder what's appropriate to put into forum signatures. I do pixel art and stuff, like my avatar!I was actually pretty bummed that Rand Paul suspended his campaign after the Iowa caucuses. Wound up voting Johnson and ended up disappointed he didn't get the 5%. I don't like Trump (especially his protectionist outlook on the economy), but I'm not panicking over the results since we've been through and survived pretty lousy presidents before. That, and I despise Clinton and perceive the Democrats as having a pretty big hubris problem.

1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die (all editions) progress: 426/1089 (39.12%)Hey, would anyone here have a problem if I conducted a survey on your opinions about this election's results?
"If you spend all your heart / On something that has died / You are not alive and that can't be a life"
You're probably on the '[medium-paced or slow-paced] reform if things truly need to be fixed in order to ensure stability within society' end of conservatism, methinks. Right?
