Shin Megami Tensei IV *SPOILERS ABOUND*

You know what kinda gets me right in the feels? During the Tokugawa Mandala sequence, where I'm at now, several of the NPCs you can talk to get killed off. I particularly miss Lewd Hunter and Hunter-worshipping Boy, whose corpse you find impaled on a spike.

Maitreya might not have been as tough as Krishna and Odin, but damn if he didn't cause a whole bunch of trouble with his powers.

Who are they?

Also Toki is best girl. Sorry Asahi, but you can't instakill hordes.

Like I said, generic NPCs that appear up until the Divine Powers attack, where they die.

No, I mean, who are they? Where do they appear? That kind of thing.

Lewd Hunter is in Ueno, Hunter-worshipping Boy is in Kinshicho.

Apart from lowering tension (which in fairness is a bit of an artificial flavouring for a game), there is one major problem with the free revive system, that being it lowers the need for frequent saving.

This is a major problem when you ragequit because you cast Agidyne after Maitreya puts his shield up, thus making him smirk and cast his super move that wipes out your entire team and now you have to do all the Deva fights all over again.

Maybe that's why Atlus put it in there; they get off on your tears, after all.

Quality of Life changes that make for a more frustrating experience.

I gotta hand it to them, Atlus does know how to work their magic.

Or you get hit with a Macca Beam and realize you haven't saved for two hours.

Or your 3DS decides to eject its cartridge because Nintendo decided that wasn't a braindead design.

It's funny how hypocritical Maitreya is, especially about attachments yet seeks to make humans utterly dependent on Gods.

Even his goal of non-attachment to reach enlightenment is more in line with Dagda's goal than the Powers.

Oh neat, I completely accidentally got a Siegfried while I was getting rid of some fusion fodder.

I can't even imagine how arduous it must be to try over and over to achieve that. Who could ever even attempt such a thing?

Did it in two days.

Easier to achieve with less luck.

Took me two days to get Siegfried as well. The first day was a whole bunch of frustrated resetting, hoping that the next fusion accident would be Siegfried.

The second day, the first fusion accident resulted in Siegfried.

Went through the same experience while trying to get Corpse. Only in that one, the first fusion accident of Day 2 of Resetting didn't result in Corpse popping up.

Aww yeah, guess who cleared the Fudo Shrine Boss Rush in one try?

Getting hit by Macca Beam and losing 80k Macca is one of those things that just make me want to stop playing.

There is only one time when getting hit by Wastrel Beam is a good thing: when you're fighting the Black Rider in Shin Megami Tensei IV, because every press turn used on Wastrel Beam is a turn where you're not being subjected to Fiend abuse.

Holy cripes Stephen is a monster. I can barely get a few turns into his first phase.

I do so love how the Wastrel Beam Dormarths move to Ginza's black market after the Angels and Demons take over Tuskiji Konganji.

Aw man, why did I even buy Fusion Booster 9? I'm already crazy overpowered as is.

All righty, all the Fiends have been cleared out of Twisted Tokyo and are sitting pretty in my compendium (screw you in that regard vanilla Shin Megami Tensei IV). I'll save En no Ozuno for later; I don't really feel like facing Nocturne Mot: Electric Boogaloo just yet.
