OK, then. Fun fact: This character's species was originally a villainous thing from a story I was thinking about writing.

  • Name: Arai Rin
  • Age: 16
  • Sex: Female
  • Species: Undifferentiated Monster
  • Appearance: From about halfway up her neck upwards, she has a normal-looking human face, with fair skin, grey eyes, and reddish skin. Upon close inspection her skin looks a bit too shiny and smooth (rather plasticky) but not extremely Uncanny Valley-ish. The rest of her is a skeleton (albeit a very clean one)
  • Personality: Rin is quite cheerful and friendly a lot of the time, wanting to be helpful to people - she’s something of a workaholic, and can get quite nitpicky at times. She absolutely loves sweet foods, and is a good cook - when it comes to sweets; anything else and you’ll be lucky if it’s edible.
  • Abilities: Rin’s skeletal body can be changed to a certain extent - a full-grown member of her species can turn into a dragonlike monster, with a long snakelike neck, a spine-shaped tail, ribcage-like wings and large claws. Since she’s only sixteen, Rin can only shapeshift a little, changing only two parts of herself at once at most (say, growing a long tail and wings). She can control her hair to some extent, using it like extra arms. Also, any clothes she wears will have a strange effect - no matter what size they are as long as they fit over her skeleton as she puts them on, they’ll look like they fit fine - so when she wears gloves, it’ll look like she has an actual hand, and if she puts on a shirt made for someone several decades older and much heavier than she is, then it’ll seem as if she balloons to fit.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Anime Appreciation Club, Cooking Club, Modelmaking Club
  • Backstory: Until the Masquerade dropped, and for about a year after, Rin went to a normal public school, wearing clothes that covered her whole body all day long with the excuse of a medical condition. After the Masquerade fell, she was OK going to school, until once when she was 11 a classmate tried to grab her skeleton hand and see if it would come off (because kids are dumb). It did, with extreme pain, and Rin lashed out at the classmate. Though she didn’t cause any serious harm, her parents decided to enroll her in a school for paranormal kids and since then nothing of note has really happened.

... accepted, so long as she actually wears gloves. Skeletal fingers do not have good grip. Also, even in a school of monsters, I imagine that would get odd looks. tongue

Yeah, I imagine. Plus as I said, the skeleton bits are detachable and it would be hideously painful if a bit of fingerbone got stuck on something.

Now I feel somewhat bad that I want with something generic like giant.[lol] But oh well, I've played Kyouko before and she was really fun, so I don't regret it at all.

Slime it is!

  • Name: Priscilla Lowry
  • Age: 16
  • Sex: Female
  • Species: Slime
  • Appearance: I kind of like this picture.
  • Personality: Priscilla is aloof and contemplative. She tends to space out during class and she doesn't take many notes during class either so she often has to ask others if she can copy their notes. She is also very forgetful and will often forget things like, eating lunch, putting on shoes or studying.
  • Abilities: Being a slime Priscilla is able to morph parts of her body into different shapes and fit into small spaces. She is also highly resistant to physical damage.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Priscilla is a member of the Neighbors Club
  • Backstory: Priscilla is the middle child in a family of seven. She has spent most of her life so far reading books, playing games and watching T.V. During the Masquerade she had to spend a lot of money on large amounts of dye to make herself appear human. Now that the masquerade is over she doesn't have to hide her natural appearance and she saves a lot of money.

She should be careful around werewolves.

So, werewolves are okay, right? Are you looking for traditional werewolves, that literally turn into wolves (Twilight), or humaniod, bipedal wolves (Underworld)?

... no amount of dye is going to camouflage the fact you are amorphous goo.

Never watched Underworld, Twilight is a bad comparison. More a sliding scale of 'everything from kemonomimi through to being an actual oversized wolf' with choice optional. Except when it's full moon (regardless of time of day). Also probably a tendency to react like dogs if not paying attention. Since... human-like, domesticated wolves? [lol]

Good enough for me.

  • Name: Ezokami Hitomi
  • Age: 16
  • Sex: Female
  • Species: Werewolf
  • Appearance: With Gold Eyes
  • Personality: Hitomi is energetic, playful, and loyal to a fault. She doesn't take life too seriously, but has never been known to skip out on Track Team practice. She has a tendency to fidget during class, scratching her ears or wagging her tail, for starters.
  • Abilities: Heightened senses, above average reflexes, strength, durability, and Healing Factor. Aversion to objects made of silver. Ability to transform into a large, bipedal wolf-like creature at will (transformation is involuntary during a full moon), during which time she retains most of her self control... Allergic to chocolate.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Track Team, Drama Club
  • Backstory: Hitomi was raised by her grandparents due to an "unfortunate accident" that took place around the time of her First Change. She has been left blissfully unaware of the details, and has no idea that she's responsible.

During the Masquerade, she and her grandparents lived in the mountains, where she was homeschooled. However, after the Masquerade ended, her grandparents thought it would be a good time to give her the social interaction that she desperately needed. Her abundance of energy got her quickly recruited to the Track team, and she soon afterward joined the Drama club initially just for the off-season, but ended up loving it so much, she's now trying to do both at once.

Slightly interested - I do like this Masquerade-less Fantasy Kitchen Sink sort of setting, though usually more for looking at how it would change the world in general - stuff like sports, politics, even religion, (considering that angels and demons would now be known to actually exist)

anyway, I was kind of thinking along the lines of a sporty harpy girl?

What country is the school in, anyways?

Name: Maria Teuku
Age: 16
Sex: Female
Species: Manananggal (Segmenter)
Appearance: An olive-skinned girl with long black hair, small and hairless chiropteran wings, and a proboscis-like tongue.
Personality: Chipper, creative, and playful; sometimes disturbingly so. She likes showing off her talents, whether it's to help other people or just to make them squirm.
Abilities: Maria has superb telekinetic control over her own body. She can painlessly and bloodlessly sever any part of her body and continue to control it from a distance, even receiving sensory information this way and causing her limbs to float independently. Reassembly is equally simple, although she has to be careful not to stay "apart" for more than a few hours. She can also float above the ground as an extension of these abilities, though it's not much faster than running.
Extracurricular Activities: Maria is a founding member of the Poker Club, where she is an inveterate cheater, and a member of the Drama Club, in whose plays she tends to "die" messily. She is a disgraced member of the Cooking Club, having been kicked out after her recipe for blood smoothies left several students ill.
Backstory: Maria Teuku was born in Malaysia in the year 2001. At the age of fourteen, shortly after finishing a history exam and in the middle of a particularly violent fit of boredom, Maria removed her own eyeball in front of the class and set it down on the teacher's desk. She was promptly expelled. It was this event that ultimately led her to where she is today: Maria's parents, fearing hate crimes in their superstition-ridden area and learning of a special school being built in Japan, relocated their family and eventually enrolled Maria in that very school.

Maria speaks Malaysian and English natively, and is learning Japanese. Between the three of these she can usually make herself heard. She is also an obligate blood-drinker, needing at least a sip daily, though she prefers her supply from cooperative blood banks. Her heritage is mostly Manananggal, though it seems that one or two other monster types are in the family tree somewhere- her abilities are a bit less specific than a pureblood's would be. She is absolutely repulsed by "normal" food, and is somewhat idiosyncratically afraid of sharp things.

EDIT: Ooopsie, spacing errors. Fixed.

Umm... not accepted. There's... quite a few reasons. Firstly, the dates don't work (minor nitpick). Secondly? They're creeping me out; anyone that will detach their body parts to be a jerk isn't a character I want in a slice of life. You've basically taken a monster and then said 'except not really', since you've changed the separation thing and left the weird-as-hell tongue. Finally? There's not really much of a reason for them to be at this school. They're perfectly capable of fitting into a normal school, but they're in this one... because... they're a troll with no self-restraint? Err... no.

Please don't try using such an unpleasant character. >.<

So despite being based on monsters, you're rejecting characters who are actually monstrous?

Plus it clearly states that her parents want her in this school because they lived in an area full of superstitious people bigoted against non-humans.

The reasons stated are the character's personality, not just their abilities. This RP is also supposed to be, essentially, a Cute Monster Girl Slice of Life RP. I don't think accepting a character based on a monster who eats the hearts of unborn babies is at all necessary.

This level of weird traits was completely acceptable, as well. It's the specific monster, personality, and such that make this character unacceptable. And again, the implication is that this is meant to be a Cute Monster Girl RP, and heavily Slice of Life, so, um, yeah.

  • Name: Sally Summers
  • Age: 17
  • Sex: Female
  • Species: Vampire
  • Appearance: Blonde haired and chalky white with blood red eyes, most of her clothing is (In adherence to tradition) darkly colored and (In adherence to not combusting) heavily concealing. She loves scarves and often wears more of them than are strictly necessary.
  • Personality: A little bit somewhat very neurotic. If Sally were any tenser, she could be used to power clockwork. She has a tendency to panic about anything that can be panicked over. And everything else. In a crisis, she's the one running around screaming about how everyone is going to die.
  • Abilities: As a vampire, Sally has excellent night vision and is somewhat faster and stronger than a normal human. She is also capable of transforming into a cloud of mist or a bat for a short period of time. Sally has many.. allergies, as it could be put. Garlic turns her into a sneezing, hacking mess and peppermint gives her hives. Crossing any sort of water, running or not, makes her terribly nauseous and she is incapable of entering any consecrated ground, or anywhere she hasn't been invited. Direct exposure to sunlight without a few layers of clothing will generally set her on fire.
  • Extracurricular Activities: A diehard member of the Knitting Club and accidentally a member of the Drama Club. Avoids the Romanian Literature Club like the plague.
  • Backstory: The Summer family is a wealthy and isolated clan from Georgia in the US, and Sally had as normal a life as one can when you have maids and combust in direct sunlight. Her family initially planned on sending her to a traditional boarding school, but the discovery of her bizarre allergies and general inability to cope with the school's environment forced them to pull her out and attempt homeschooling. Upon discovering the Myouren Gakuen Highschool, they decided it was time for her to venture out into the world. And learn to deal with the world in general.
