Yugioh: the hunt for numbers interest check/sign up

This is primarily a interest check for a RP based in the yugioh universe, I will inishiate sign ups if enough interest is shown.

So basic premiss, while watching yugioh zexal on one of my days off (not as bad as it started out with some good episodes every now and again) I started thinking 'maybe a RP where the characters play number hunters/holders in a parallel universe without the characters of zexal, with the numbers only being destroyed by other numbers could be fun' and proceeded to brain storm.

Usual rules will apply: and if you look like you're going to make trouble you will be asked to leave, however the deck building rules will be different, after enough people have shown interest everyone will be sent a number card found here and here picked at random by a number generator to build a deck around (however decks I consider over powerd or unfair in a RP environment will be rejected) also some will receive mutable numbers depending on what the first pick was (for example 53 and 92).

Interested, hit me up with a Number!

• Name: Masayuki "Rose Knight" Sakurazuka

• Age: 17

• Gender: Male

• Duel Disk: It looks rather like a rose themed central disk, and the fringes of the card holding piece resemble thorny branches.
  • Duel Gazer: A red Gazer that unfolds over his left eye, and lends a very bright red tone to his left eye.
  • Number Hunting Method: Sealing Sword, which seems to, in addition to taking a Number, also results in the target being extremely tired and seeming to lack energy for a while.

• Appearance: Masayuki is a very effeminate looking young man, almost to the point that he could, realistically, be mistaken for a girl, especially with his odd, very pretty rose-red hair. He has blue eyes that have a "cool" look to them. He wears a black coat over a tight sleeveless shirt, tight jeans and boots. He wears one black rose earring on his left ear.

• Personality: Despite his appearance, Masayuki starts off as a rather rude and brash, foul-mouthed individual with a very aggressive dueling style, mainly concerning himself with hunting Numbers for his group of Numbers Hunters called "Soul Larvae", who, led by Ernesto, want to collect the Numbers. Masayuki is Ernesto's most trusted "knight", and is known as the "Rose Knight". Masayuki puts a lot of trust in Ernesto, and it seems they were Heterosexual Life-Partners before all this started. Masayuki currently has a girlfriend, who he truly cares for. He has some Blood Knight tendencies, desiring a really fulfilling duel that could "push him to his limits". While as covered, he is something of a jerk, he really cannot stand mistreatment of weak people.

• History: Masayuki knew the withdrawn Ernesto since they were kids, though he's always known there was something strange about his leader. When the Numbers appeared, Ernesto formed the Soul Larvae Group to collect them, only trusting Masayuki to know what his real motive is. For his part, Masayuki was surprised, but decided to support Ernesto anyway. He seems to have a strong bond with Master of Blades, and uses it as his ace card.

Hit me! (not literally)

Hmmm...double-posting, but I do have a question, more out of curiosity than anything else: If we're all Number Hunters, how are we going to get new Numbers? If we take a Number from another player, then that leaves them out of the loop kinda, and it also means that there is a static amount of Numbers floating around...

Basacly there will be a plot (better start fleshing that out really) that will have the P Cs working together eventually, with some NPR holding numbers. I would like to avoid people taking each others (duelling between pcs however is fine)

• Name: Connor "Lockpick" Everson
• Age: 21
• Gender: Male
• Duel Disk: Shaped like a black key, with the monster zones coloured like rubies and the spell/trap zones coloured like sapphires.
• Duel Gazer: Jet black in the shape of a beetle wing.
• Appearance: Connor is a shadow. Shrouding himself in dark cloaks, he hates being seen. Those who do see him find cold eyes the colour of steel and an unwavering frown. He keeps his jet black hair with dull orange streaks short yet spiky. His tall silhouette is that of an impassive shadow. His Number is imprinted just under his left eye.
• History: Connor used to be a master thief. Well, he still is. But the former chase after prized jewelry and priceless paintings got redirected ever since he found the glowing card that would become his destiny. His past life had allowed him to separate his regular fun-loving self and his detached thief persona. When he stumbled upon Master Key Beetle, it ironically locked up his civilian persona. So now Connor roams the world, hunting for Numbers to unlock his soul so that he can be free from the eternal buzz within his mind.
• Personality: Connor is standoffish and detached from people. He is stuck having a hard time interacting with people due to Master Key Beetle locking away his personable part of him. In fact, 66 basically dictates most of what he does due to basically holding him hostage.

• Number Hunting Method: Connor manifests 66 in the form of its key-like horn. He then uses it to "unlock" the Number from the former holder's soul and "locks" it to his own.

One more question before I finalize my character concept (technically two, but they're kinda related): Are we explicitly using Duel Gazers, and if so, are the Tattoo variety allowed?

I can't quite figure out what type of deck I want. Do I want a Tiger Beast's deck, a Fairy deck, a Galaxy deck? I am sorta tempted to try that Reckless Fire idea that I've been toying with and saying that Pegasus fits because he can cause burn damage, but eh. I want the deck to fit the Number and I just can't work out what fits it best. Annoying.

Name: Riko Yomoko

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Appearance: Blonde shoulder length hair, green eyes. Wears a white button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up halfway up her arms and a pair of jeans. Her Number appears on her right arm.

Duel Disk and D-Gazer: Her duel disk looks just like Glorious Halo's wing. Her Gazer is a standard Gazer, but coloured gold to match her duel disk.

Personality: Riko is quite shy and gets nervous easily but is really sweet and cares about people. She loves Duel Monsters and hates it when people use it to gain power. She thinks that it should just be played for the fun of it. Also she doesn't like Number cards and is deathly afraid of them.

Backstory: When she was younger her house caught fire and both her parents were killed. How she managed to survive is a complete mystery. Nevertheless she was found unconscious amongst the rubble clutching onto a Duel Monster card. Over the next few years she was raised by her grandparents until she decided to leave and tough it out on her own.

Number 102: Holy Lightning-Glorious Halo: Halo is a boisterous bowman who is eager to prove his skills on the battlefield. The true 'Number Hunter' of the pair, Halo often has to goad Riko into using him. At times he seems like a bully towards Riko but deep down he cares about her and wants to protect her. When Halo captures a Number he fires an arrow at the bond that connects the holder to the Number, severing it.

Dammit, I can't figure out how to build a deck around this card. Can I either just build a deck and not focus on Sky Pegasus, or get some help building a deck centered around him, or get a new number? Any kind of assistance would be awesome cause I am kinda outta ideas here.

Well, no, I do have one deck idea, but I don't really wanna use it. It feels too much like a Crystal Beast deck for me and I don't wanna use a Crystal Beast deck in two RP's. That's actually sorta one of my problems with Sky Pegasus, aside from the fact that it isn't really a card that is good enough to center a deck around. It reminds me too much of Sapphire Pegasus and the only real strategy I have been able to work out using it centers around Flame Tiger which remind me too much of Topaz Tiger.

Quick question: What are the ways that we can use to take Numbers? My plan for Connor was manifesting 66 in its key form to "unlock" the Number from the fallen opponent's soul and then "lock" it to Connor's soul.

Also also, are Numbers still, by and large, negative entities or are they like regular not-evil Duel Spirits?

@lucky Hmmm. Well Sky Pegasus is rather generic. You could run anythin' that spams Rank 4s. I honestly don't see a problem with a Crystal Beast deck. Hell I've been Archive Bingin' East Academy and it seems you've had some great success with Crystal Beasts there. How 'bout a Crystal Beast deck that doesn't have Rainbow Dragon. Instead have it focus on just Xyz plays. And who cares if Flame tiger reminds you of Topaz Tiger, that's like sayin' BEWD and Baby Dragon are the same thing.

Ooh just had an idea: Phantom Crystal Beasts!

I guess Halo could fire an arrow and seperate someone from a Number or something...
