pretty sure nui is meant to get on your nerves though. as far as being a Hate Sink goes she does a pretty good job of that.

I would say they tried too well to make Mako a fun characters.

Mako's great- She's quirky and weird and has a really good heart. She probably couldn't hold the show on her own, but she compliments Ryuko extremely well as a major supporting cast member.

Ryuko & Satsuki are still better anyway.

Considering they are Female equivalents of the like of similar duos like Kazuma and Ryuho, Asura and Yasha and even Issei and Vali, of course they are better then Mako.

Mako is still fun, though.

Oh yea Mako's great, she's spunky and cute...she just ain't got nothing on the scissor sisters :V

Mako can be fun in small doses but she can get a little annoying after awhile. Satsuki and Ryuko are basically rivals who drive the plot of the story.

Mako ain't annoying at all, imo.

Maybe....I think she is at least.

I'm sort-of-marathoning the series with 5/6 friends of mine, and none of them can stand Mako. XD Personally I have nothing against her, though.

Mako worked best with the less dramatic tone of the first half. By the second half, she felt more forced into the drama, and just didn't fit as well. I still like her as a character though. She's basically a Looney Tune.

That's basically how I feel; she's fine when the series was crazy, but not so much in the dramatic moments.

So, are the schools going to return to normal now that the whole Life Fiber fiasco is over?

It's unclear. Hell, I'm still trying to grasp how the epilogue shows an entire "normal-looking" town outside of Honnoji Academy!

Presumably, Satsuki made use of her status as now-sole commander of the vast wealth of the Kiryuin fortune to make amends for her family's actions.

It's kinda great how awkward she seems in the epilogue.

She spent so much of her life being a soldier, its weird just being...normal.

I still want that post-epilogue OVA of her being mad awkward with every day life. I WANT IT.

We have an OVA, but that still doesn't show any slice of life stuff.

I want an entire episode about what the epilogue shows!

I want a Non Canon ova where Ryuko fights Kazuma the Shell Bullet.

I found Mako increasingly annoying overtime, but near the end of the show she went back to great.

mako's alright. not my favorite character by any means but she doesn't really come close to annoying me most of the time.

She annoyed me a little in the first episode, but after that I warmed up to her and after her focus episode she was my favorite character. Christine also brings a ton of pure adorable energy to her in the dub.

Also, Gama/Mako OTP!

Msko was great. Yeah she could be annoying but as was shown more than once her adorable dorky self was what stopped ryuko from being even edgier than she already was.

Mako is a fun character but I only tolerate in small doses. Too much of anything is still too much.

You take Mako too seriously from what I've seen.

Nothing wrong with that, though.

I don't take her too seriously, I mean she's the Plucky Comic Relief and the main character's best friend so she pretty much plays those roles for all their worth.

My only issue is that is that, she sorta defuses tension from other conflicts completely unrelated to her. Which was definitely the point given Nui's reaction, but it was still something I felt began to wear out its welcome near the end of the show.
