What I like about Ryuko is that she isn't the emo angsty shonen heroine ALL the time. They could've easily written her like that but she shows very emotionally stable moments too, most of the time around Mako.
Agreed.
It's one thing to make a spectacle. It's another to make a difference.Though still, I can't believe she pulled the "I'm never wearing you again!" stunt three separate times.
That's kind of what made the third time lose any impact it could have had honestly.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I can really only remember the one near the end (and another one closer to the beginning, but barely).
It's one thing to make a spectacle. It's another to make a difference.Somehow I bet that I'll regret asking this question, but does anyone here ship any of the characters in this series? I'm a rather huge fan of Ryuko/Mako. Yes, I know that two girls being friends doesn't automatically make them lesbians, but I love the interactions between them and I do think they'd be a cute couple, not to mention Mako already has a couple Ambiguously Gay moments to start with. I also like Satsuki/Nounon and Satsuki/Gammagoori, but the latter is mainly something I joke about.

I ship nothing and no one in anything.
It's one thing to make a spectacle. It's another to make a difference. The question is who is Ryuko not shipped with?
Her mother?
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. No, I'm pretty sure I've seen her shipped with Ragyo. Much to my squick {I would have had the same reaction to Ryuko/ Satsuki, but I know that people already shipped them before that reveal}. I haven't seen her shipped with anyone from Mako's family though, but the reasons why are probably obvious {Two of them are already married, one is a kid and one is a dog, albeit a really perverted one}.

Being the main character of Anime is suffering.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Especially if said character is a female in a fanservice anime.
I say Ryuko/Mako is legit because fighting the final boss in space and going "I'm going to kick your ass because I have a date waiting for me" is just the most romantic thing.
The debates that fucking finale caused, jesus christ.
And this is why

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.To me, it was a non-romantic date. A date between two super close friends (and later Satsuki).
Is that why Mako tried to kiss Ryuko, then?
I'm not convinced the finale ending PV was meant to be the date, either.
I sure said that!Pls, stahp.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.A kiss can mean things other than a serious relationship, though not often otherwise.
Personally, I think the whole thing is left open to interpretation. You could see it as a romantic date, or just as friends hanging out.

I am not a shipper but Mako can shipped with anyone and it still would somehow make sense.
"We are just like Irregular Data. And that applies to you too, Ri CO. And as for you, Player... your job is to correct Irregular Data."I say Dating Do-Si-Do: everyone will end up kissing everyone, eventually.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. The only ship that makes sense in Kill la Kill is Everyone X Everybody.
(Except Nui. Nobody loves Nui.)
(Also except the two Nudist Beach guys because I don't care if we are on the Internet, they're fucking going to hit a pub or something and find a mate who is not underage)

"Everyone" would include every last person...so how would one go about kissing him or herself?
The pure embodiment of Wangst that was.
