I dunno, four weeks isn't that long to be out of it. I like that the Goku uniforms break down if they aren't constantly maintained.

These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.Wait a minute...the bad guy has pretty much taken over the world Japan, unleashes an army of flying aliens that actively hunt humans, one of the heroes has been captured and kept in a cage, there's a time skip where everything's bleak, and it's up to the heroes' companions to save the day or at least until the other hero comes back into form.
...For some reason I feel like I've heard this plot before. Just saying.

Rebuild 3.0? That's the vibe I got.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them. Also E4 Nudist Beach (and Mako) is one of the best things ever, Nonon became a ninja and got more awesome points, IraMako is pretty much canon, Satsuki is the coolest, Ragyo must die, Mrs. Mankanshoku appears entranced by Mikisugi's shiny groin, I like the face Ira does when the emergency suction gun pretty much ends up useless, and GIANT DRESS/SUIT ROBOT DOOMSDAY WEAPON.
Also also in as much as I understand why several people find Ryuko's latest declaration and rejection of Senketsu to be...questionable, I also understand what she went through to think like this. After all, she found out she was disposed as an infant, her father was not who she thought he is, her life was a lie, her just-months-earlier-found purpose in life was negated, her heart got ripped out her chest, and she got in the middle of an explosion. I think it's a bit unfair to compare her to Satsuki, who pretty much had her mind set on a path (defeat her mother and end the Life Fiber invasion)...and seems to have a few more tricks up her sleeve.
And maybe, as some people theorized, she's going to charge at Honnouji with wild abandon and she's just trying to keep him safe, but let's just wait next week.
Still makes me a bit sad and angry though. Is there a word for that? Not really upset, but...
Also, aww Senketsu, you really liked doing the episode previews didn't you?
Just watched the episode, everything was going so well. Nudist Beach everywhere, Mako's mum shamelessly staring at Aikuro's fabulous glow, gearing up for more rebellion with Gama and Mako and then they had to pull out the, "I'm a monster!" shtick. Living with life fibres in her hadn't effected her mind at all for seventeen years, and it still isn't. Up until she got her heart ripped out it wasn't even effecting her physically except for the increased synchronisation with Senketsu, which she was grateful for. The second worst kind of angst.

She didn't even know she had life fibers in her until the end of the last episode, so its not really fair to assume she knew.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.&Eh, I think it's a legitimate reaction to finding out so much of yourself is a lie.
Another question though; did Raygo know all along that Isshin was Soichiro? If she didn't, wouldn't she have thought it weird that there's this man who makes Life Fiber clothing when it was like just her and Soichiro? And if she did, why didn't she realize Ryuko could be her daughter? And beyond that, wouldn't Aikuro have found it weird that there's no mention of an Isshin Matoi before thirteen years ago? And he also says he founded Nudist Beach from royalties based on his patents, how could Matoi collect on royalties for patents that weren't, technically, his?
Just... derp. The logistics of Soichiro being Isshin don't make any sense to me.

These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them. That she knew she had life fibres? Well yeah, she didn't, but she does presumably know that she was for all intents and purposes, for the first seventeen years of her life a normal human. I hope she's being controlled, or at least influenced by COVE Rs in some fashion, at least then it'll be a plot by the bad guys and not this irritating trope.
Dude I don't think most people would be thinking all that rationally if they found out something like that. Also Ryuko's a teenage girl who already had quite a few emotional issues, and has been hit with all this shit at once.
And may or may not have been influenced by weird noise courtesy of Ragyo.

i. hear. a. sound.Indeed, this is a shocking revelation, to find out you've been infused with a part of the alien trying to take over the world. Doubly confusing even, seeing as the only other person who's so infused is a complete monster. Being traumatised is a natural reaction to these reveals, but that doesn't make her screaming, "I am the monster!" any less wearing.

Meh, Ryuko's suffering from Sayaka Miki-syndrome. Wouldn't be surprised if she adopts a fighting style like the latter's during the Elsa Maria fight.
Let's hope that she doesn't turn into a monster herself.
"I am a Monster" trope is eye rolling, but somewhat justified, I just roll with it.
Hell, that may be why she told Senketsu off, she's so pissed off now that if she did wear him she'd probably turn into that...thing from episode 12 again.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Oktavia van Seckendorf?
Oh god that's actually a really good point. It ties into what someone said a few pages back, that this is her way of protecting him.

Surprised no one's noted that Ryuko looks like Tetsuo at the end of the episode.

These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.Huh. That censor light didn't have to work very hard for Monkey.
Hmmmm, This Ryuko thing seems to have everyone in a tizzy.
I get why, but I can't say I feel the same way. There is just to many outside factors.
- 1: the month long sleep and nightmare says Ryuko may be being influenced from outside forces.
- 2: the way she was woken up and it being right after Ragyo said she had something in the works to "take care of her" screams mind control.
- 3: Ryuko little speech happened right after she woke up and right before end credits Aka a cliffhanger, so until next week all we really know is that Ryuko is angry but not the meat of why.
I'll wait till next week to call her base breaker, if its just Wangst than fuck her. If its something else than fuck you Mommy Dearest.
I think Ryuko should be an asshole here; I mean I don't think she means what she says from the very bottom of her heart, but to say "I was lying to protect you" just strikes me as dumb.
If she's just moping around Osaka doing nothing then yeah, it's pointless, but the Next Episode Preview made it pretty clear she's gonna get captured by Nui/Raygo.

These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.Well, episode seen.
Everybody's a Nudist! I especially love Nonon.
Mrs. Mankanshoku, stop staring. But...there's no helping it when Aikuro shines so brightly.
Ragyo= Brrr...
Shinra-Kotetsu's gonna be something epic. And maybe world-ending. Nui's the designer, after all.
Thanks for that heart-warming moment with Senketsu, Mrs. Makanshoku.
Mako! You're alive! Ira was so worried about ya, ya know! Well, your family too, but more Ira! Love Nonon's troll face.
Nice invention, Iori. Too bad Ryuuko made it useless. Ira's dumbfounded expression: priceless.
What I thought when Ryuuko decimated the Fiber Corps: "SHADDAP, I'M TRYING TO GET SOME SLEEP HERE!"
Once again, poor Senketsu. Being related to a monster like Ragyo can do that to a person, though...
Satsuki's rebellion ain't over yet. Hope(?) will never die!
Really...? Hmmm... Now that I think about it... She...kinda did...
Also I chuckled when Sukuna said she'd wear Senketsu in a heartbeat if she were 20 years younger. Also Aikuro's continued insistence of making people call the Dotonbori Robo 'DTR'.
The more I think about it, the more I think that the Covers would have been a great Doctor Who alien. Alien human-absorbing clothes! The Paranoia Fuel would have been great provided that it were executed good.
...Wait, Far from the Madding Crowd isn't a song, but a novel, film, and a musical? Well, that's one combo broken for the subs, I guess.

Gotta say, Ryuko's Death Glare after waking up is one of the more effective ones. You can just feel the hatred through the fourth wall.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.It shall be a most useful reaction image.
Also, Soichiro breaking his back like that made me cringe a bit. Also also how did he get an instant beard? Is it fake?
The month thing is likely because I don't think these kinds of shows are good with time. I'm remembering Jeri in Digimon Tamers being stuck, still aware in the D Reaper for a Week or more.
Since they've already done the Achilles in His Tent with the last breakdown, it will likely be the suicide charge. However, despite issues I may have with this turn, I will wait until the next episode before making a judgement. Hell, I thought the Ryuko vs Tsugumu bit in Episode 16 was going to be a a lot bigger than the simple stand off it was.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...
