I got the demo.pretty nice I guess.though I would like sliders as an option.
So... that seems like a pretty crippling list. And here I was looking forward to this.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I know, right? I made all these Sims in the demo, and was excited to play the game with them, but now... ugh.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."And we're sure this is all A) real and B) going to be how it is in the final build?
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Yeah, seems rather extreme of a cut. I mean, I remember when the only ages you had were infants, kids (who never grew up after that) and Adults, but still... this seems to be a huge step backwords, even for them.
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.Lack of a color wheel seems unnecessarily painful. I was hoping for much more fluidity in creating a sim.
But hey, at least no damn burglars.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! All of the information is cited somewhere, and while I haven't investigated each citation, the ones I did seemed legit.
So yeah.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."So...
What reason is there to get this game? From what I can read, all it does is add a bit more fluidity in facial construction for Sims, which doesn't even work right with its lack of fine-tuning sliders, and an emotion system, and takes away about twenty gazillion features that were around in 2 or 3.
I mean, even with the improvements to create-a-Sim, they also took away color wheels, skintone sliders, multi-tone hair, create-a-style, and a ton of other features, making the CAS system inferior to 3's, which forfeits pretty much the only positive it might have had.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! You know this is just a demo, right? It's not done yet, when it is, they'll include all that stuff.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatI was under the impression all that stuff is disconfirmed for the final build.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! Most of it isn't outright confirmed just.. strongly suspected. We'll have to wait and see once the game drops if it's as terrible as it sounds.
But if it is... yeah, doesn't seem like there's much reason to play this at all.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Emotion system, no rabbitholes, and the improved build system are the selling points to me... though that's still not enough to make me buy it at full price.
Pretty sure the "no rabbit holes" thing isn't even true. Sims just go off-screen, like they would in Sims Medieval.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."What exactly are rabbitholes?
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! The crappy shell buildings they had in Sims 3. Stuff like the supermarket, the movie theatre, and all the career lots. Your Sim goes in for a set amount of time, and you can't see what they're doing at all.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I'm glad that they're gone to some extent (school routing jams...), but I'm going to miss TS 3 open world.
At least the new system will be easier for expansion packs. The EA worlds never had enough space for every expansion building (and even with some size reduction, it still leaves little wiggle room), but the new model allows the addition of new worlds easily.
But yeah, I can't spend $60 on a game that I'm not sure will be my cup of tea. Lower it to $40, and I'll start talking—but only after extensive research.

Double post about CAS. Even if I don't buy TS4, I see myself getting at least a few hours more into the demo. I'm still trying to find out how to get the most diverse appearances from my Sims (some of the most specific sliders seem to not transition over), but I love the overall aesthetic. Much more lively than TS3.
My video card might be unrecognized, but that doesn't stop me from doing anything. The interface is glitched, but I can max out the Sim-related settings without a hitch. Strange.
Yeah, The CAS is pretty great. Which, again, just makes the crappy rest of the game sting even more.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Or maybe it's a sign that the designers actually know what they're doing. Remember, very few people have played any version of the game yet, and those who have have only played alpha or beta software (and even then most of them were enthusiastic)
Honestly, so far Sims 4 looks more like a sequel to Sims 2 than Sims 3 (which is good, because I really hated Sims 3)

If we want to go off of the premade neighborhood and families in it, 3 was more a prequel to 2 than a sequel.
You are correct, sir, but what I meant was that Sims 4 has a style and sense of humor that looks more like S2 than S3
Indeed. Which was why I was so excited for it.
Then had to go and fuck it up.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."
That's... quite a list.
Watch it all be added via pretty-much-mandatory expansions.
