Discussion of religion in the context of LGBTQ+ rights is only allowed in the LGBTQ+ Rights and Religion Thread.
Discussion of religion in any other context is off topic in all of the "LGBTQ+ rights..." threads.
Attempting to bait others into bringing up religion is also not allowed.

Not surprised in the slightest they're saying this.
EDIT: Removing potential offtopicness just in case.

UKIP councillor
Of course. Jesus, that party has no filtering process.
What's precedent ever done for us?Nope. It does not. Not even testing for common sense. <_<
Fire, air, water, earth...legend has it that when these four elements are gathered, they will form the fifth element...boron.
Yeah, I think we can safely file this one under "If it was true, someone would be using it to make money by now".
Thread Hop: re European Union. IIRC, the Parliament were considering putting forward a motion to create a recognition of marriage directive. Currently, the EU (technically) does not recognise gay marriage, however parliamentarians are trying to get it to recognise it so that cross-border marriages will have to be accepted, and the States' bans on same-sex marriage would be fruitless.
For example, a gay marriage in Spain would have to be recognised in Poland, even though Poland itself does not recognise gay marriage. (Of course, this would mean gay Poles would flock to the nearest country with civil unions/gay marriage)
Obviously, this is on the docket, and they're planning on passing this motion "soon", which is deliberately vague. Whether it'll pass is difficult to say because the Parliament's largest grouping is the right-wing People's Party.
Wait, does the EU recognize marriage for its own purposes, like Federal vs. State? Obviously the EU isn't a federal body like the US, I'm just wondering now how it handles recognizing them....does it even need to recognize a marriage for some purposes? I feel clueless.

Everything is Possible. But some things are more Probable than others. JEBAGEDDON 2016Apparently, Putin doesn't understand the concept of judicial review. Or the concept of not cherry-picking his comparisons.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYou can find someone attractive even if they disagree with you. Just because some gay people apparently think Putin is hot, doesn't mean that he isn't wrong.
Not Three Laws compliant.
Yes, but he's buff. So that makes it okay.

I'm getting mixed signals.

Everything is Possible. But some things are more Probable than others. JEBAGEDDON 2016Yay... and what? Dear Lord: they're pushing the old pattern of arranged child engagements/ marriages as The Solution To Everything...? -_-

Not sure if this has been posted in this thread already, but this is a very interesting survey. Except for Africa, the future is looking pretty bright, judging by the 18-29 statistics.
A brief reminder: don't out trans people without their permission. This is why.
Share it so that people can get into this conversation, 'cause we're not the only ones who think like this.So apparently that UKIP guy got suspended, apparently because UKIP realised he was a PR disaster waiting to happen.
Don't worry; they're more where he came from!
There has to be something that can be done about this. Some way to punish him. His actions contributed to someone's death, and he won't spend 5 minutes in prison.

Her relatives could sue him in private law. Might potentially be able to take a good deal of money off of the writer.
Schild und Schwert der ParteiThat's something. The guy seems to be immune to human emotions like empathy or guilt. Maybe screwing with his cash flow is the only way to hurt him.
...Unknown. The guy can't even get pronouns right. How do you expect him to use a calculator?
No, but seriously: he should be facing more than just a civil court. He should be unemployable as a journalist after this. <_< If only there were a means to make it happen.
Of course if you do that, suddenly he's an innocent victim of "political correctness" and a martyr for the much persecuted bigot community.
X6/7
UKIP has a lot of people who have that kind of opinion in private and then only end up suspended or removed from the party if they reveal them in public. It has happened over and over again.

Same amount of All Gays Are Pedophiles and some neuro-science fiction as ever, I see.
