Behind-the-scenes info is almost always contradictory and prone to gossip. What makes most sense to me is that the writing staff had no idea what to do with the Carranger footage and several of the actors wanting out making the logistics a nightmare. Everything else is subject to opinions, interpretations and blatant falsehoods.

That probably had something to do with it, no rumors or anything though? It just bugs me because the ending of Zeo seems to be setting up a totally different series than what happens next and I've wondered why they would go through all that effort when at the same time they must have been writing and doing initial filming for the Turbo movie.

I've heard they didn't have Rita and Zedd as villains because Robert Axelrod had scheduling conflicts. Any new info come up on the Bulk and Skull France subplot?

No clue.

But have this for fun. I thought this was a pretty good edit.

Does anyone know where I can find the original pilot and not the Lost Episode version? They edited out a lot of stuff it seems.

Not even powerrangers.com has it. :/

Good luck, man. Google's your friend. That said, since there's no official way, might as well change the subject.

I'm actually looking for a Power Rangers Megaforce SSB edit. No luck yet.(I think Brawl or Melee could do it easily due to both showing the full cast via cutscenes in some way)

Meh I used to love the show as a kid and stopped watching around the time they went out into Space. The original will always be the best.

I thought of this some time back, but a lot of the main Rangers in Megaforce actually have some obvious names. Not all, though.

Troy is the ultimate hero, the main guy, etc. Well, Troy of mythology isn't much different. The name made sense for the hero.

Jake? Doesn't sound odd... until he has his Animal Motif as a Snake. Remember Jake the Snake from Pro Wrestling?

Emma I got nothing.

Noah is easy. Noah's Ark. It's all about the water.

Gia is a little weaker than the other ones, but she does have a similar name to Geo, and is uses Earth attacks, which is often what Geo Effects can be based around.

I'm not counting Robo Knight for any of this, mind you. And he's exactly what he sounds like. tongue

I decided to watch this this weekend out of curiosity. I intend to watch this season actually purely for the nostalgia factor & eventual appearances of Rangers from the past. There is one thing that bugged me though. Well, a few other things that felt kind of forced dialogue wise, but whatever. That's not what drove me mad. What did is the fact that they became fucking pirates and nobody ever comments on it!

I haven't watched Power Rangers in ages.

But man, the Megaforce theme basically being a combination of all the best themes kinda makes me almost sort of want to watch it... or just listen to the theme on loop.

[up][up] I know right?! It's extremely noticeable.

At least with Megaforce, they could get away with not bringing up the angel theme of the original Sentai. But here in Super Megaforce, it's way more obvious that they're pirates.

Someone make a music video

What do we have in terms of Doctor Who and Power Rangers crossovers? The series have a lot of common themes. Goofy humour, lots and lots of camp, an alien hero with cool headquarters taking young earthlings to fight alien threats from outer space...

I just love how Power rangers has never stopped being camp.

Like, the original series is maybe a bit more camp overall, but only slightly.

[up]Some series tried to tone down the camp, but In Space still had Alpha and Divatox as supporting characters, Lost Galaxy still had a killer pirate ship and an Elvis impersonating lobster among it's villains, and the baddie for Time Force was still Bennett.

Indeed. That's one part I love about the series as a whole.

I just saw the second episode of Super Megaforce. Incoming spoilers;

The first appearance of 4 of the 6 Dairanger uniforms. Obviously, White Ranger would be from the Megaforce/Super Megaforce Silver. Next, Vekar's incompetence as a Big Bad. It's funny because he provides the comedy due to it. He actually speaks out against his bad plan. When pointed out, he says "Only listen to my good ideas! Which they all are! ...Except this one."

I at least appreciate that they had the balls to bring in the older sentai suits.

especially awesome to finally see Dairanger get the billing it was cheated out of.

Do you guys think Vrak would try to return and oust his own brother in a maybe-lethal fashion?

I personally would not put it past him.

Possibly. Earlier villains have returned before. (Rita, Trakeena, Master Org, for instance)

Saw the first two episodes of Super Megaforce. Confused as to why they kept the Megaforce Powers / Costumes. Considering that it seems to involve having to film a bunch of fights in the Megaforce costumes. Why not have Vrak destroy their powers - which would have help set him up as a credible villain - and then save money by using more sentai footage.

I sort of enjoy how the Pirate theme of Gokaiger's costumes/mechs goes completely unacknowledged. Like no one questions WHY the super megaforce powers are pirate themed, or even seem to realize it.

I did get a thrill out of them using Dairanger costumes, but I'd have liked them to justify how Noah's got footage of SPD despite SPD taking place 10 years from now. Or how they know about RPM which was an alternate universe.

I hate that I'm finding that the more I watch this season as well as check out the Sentai version of Kaizoku Sentai Goukaiger, the more I'm disliking this Super Megaforce. Plus The Rangers feel so bland to me, especially again coming off of Goukaiger. At this point I'm considering just dropping this until people I want to see for nostalgia sake appear.

I watched Gokaiger a year ago and now seeing the Gokaiger footage being used in Super Megaforce all i can think is "why are they speaking english?" [lol]

Watching Sentai has ruined Power Rangers for me. [lol]
