Shame it's a JPEG, though. I can't find a not-JPEG version of the scene on GIS... Other than an animated GIF◊.

Moon◊That looks so horrifically wrong...
It doesn't illustrate very well, either, but yeah, I think I was thinking what you're thinking when I first saw it.
Moon◊Probably works better, pending somebody ripping a clean version of the original scene.
Moon◊That might work with the caption.
30 looks good.
Caption: Who would have thought you needed to use a "monkey" wrench?

Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.I like that suggestion.
"It's a monkey wrench. I ordered it on my bananaphone."
I am not seeing "Puzzle" in that. Just some guy (Guybrush, but assuming you don't know series) having way too wide grin while holding a monkey from its tail...
Looks clearly like a puzzle to me. There is a mechanism that needs fixing, and he's holding the tool (and the fact that the tool makes no apparent sense is what defines this trope). Good image, thumbs up.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Clock is set. Anyone else for/against the monkey pic?
I'm for Use Until Better Image Suggested on the Monkey Island image. So yes to it unless someone else can come up with a better image quickly.
But we should admit that it's poor (large-pixel images aren't very clear at the best of times) and be ready to consider changing later.
Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMCaption could be "Get it? Monkey wrench?
The clock's done on this thread. There's about 7 votes in favour of the latest image, so we can put it up, but I'll wait on doing so until there are more votes for/against captions.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going. We can leave it imageless, too.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanBump; any other thoughts?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAs Telcontar said above, there's at least seven votes in favor of image 30 and I count only one against; so I've put it up. I don't see any consensus for a caption so far.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!"It's a monkey wrench... get it?"
EDIT: Just noticed that nitrokitty had basically the same suggestion.

That works for me.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! Many of the votes "in favor" constitute pretty weak support ("poor, but I guess it's okay", etc). I don't like it either, but didn't say anything because I don't really have any thoughts to add that hadn't been said already, and didn't think it'd be added without a crowner, which is usually (I thought?) only done when support is unanimous, or at least there is some kind of warning ("few more votes and we'll go with that", etc).
I didn't take it down yet, but I think it was added to the page prematurely, and should be crownered.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. You know, the more I think about this, the more against it I am, as it's going to rely on the caption to make any sense. I've hit the snooze so we can discuss this further.

It strikes me that having an image here that takes some time to understand (or that is clearer in retrospect) makes perfect sense, because the trope is about puzzles that take time to understand and/or are clearer in retrospect.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!
12 would need the caption, but I do think it works.
