Good example, really bad image...that's the moon. Coyote pulled it out of the sky so Annie could poke at it, and then put it back.
1.1 = 1.2 > 1.3

I agree with Willbyr's assessment of the suggestions. And such illusions are always fun.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.I like 1.2 best.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableThe current image is bad. It actually looks like a black hole on the finger.
I like Pisa and Sun most. The other isn't clear at the first moment.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI like the Sun one myself.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."I prefer the sun. Pisa is too damaged.
Check out my fanfiction!Speaking of sun pictures, there's always the classic Obama devours the sun.◊

Funny, but not as good trick-wise as 1.2.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Paying closer attention to the definition, none of the proposed suggestions actually match the definition.
So normal perspective tricks and camera tricks don't work, since that's the reverse, a 3d world playing with 2d.
In light of this, Voting Keep Until Better Image Suggested as no suggestion so far matches the definition. The current image, though unclear, fits the description.

I think that's not quite right - yes, it's a 3D world playing with 2D, but it's in the same way that a 2D world would play with 2D. The only difference is that photography can only pretend.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI literally copied the description: using the fact that they live in a 2-D world imitating 3-D to their advantage.
Emphasis mine.
Seriously, if you want to argue that the description is wrong, that's for TRS.
RL pictures are not a 2D world.
In short the trope is when a character uses the fact they are in a 2d world to pull off a perspective trick: Bugs Bunny reaches for the moon because he's 2d so the moon really is just about a foot over his head, and not in space. That's an example according to the description. Filming someone from a weird angle to make it look like they are kicking the tower of Pisa, that's not it - again going by the current description.
The other point the definition sort of make (Akwardly) is that characters most often are altering reality by doing this, not achieving a funny trick of the camera. They are actually manipulating their surroundings. Thus as you put it:
Which makes it not an example.

Oh god, could we cut that first line? It makes it ridiculously hard to understand what the trope is about.
In any case, I only got the image once I understood the trope. But this trope seems to be about literal magic, so I'm not sure how a real life image will convey that?
Well, it can be magic or "Cartoon physics" (Is that a trope? It should be) (the same kind that lets the Road Runner run through a fresca of a tunnel, but makes Wile E Coyote crash into it)
Yeah, that first line is misleading and should go. On account of Tropes Are Not Narrow, it doesn't matter whether the world involved is 2D or 3D. And note that several cartoon worlds are in fact 3D and can still use this trick.
And yes, it can be magic or Cartoon Physics, but naming it Perspective Magic Or Cartoon Physics is a bit awkward
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!So... in other news, the suggestion is still perfectly suitable. :P
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI don't think so. These all seem examples of Forced Perspective.
That's because the two tropes overlap at times. They are not mutually exclusive; I don't see a problem in that.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! As it's been said, this description mentions the characters actually manipulating the world. None of the images show that.
Clock is set. I'm going to cut the first line since it doesn't seem to add anything and feels like a stealth page quote.
Something that we could possibly do is add the panel where Coyote actually takes the moon out of the sky to the current...maybe. I'm not where I can access GC easily so I dunno what it actually looks like.

It strikes me that several people in this thread consider 1.1 or 1.2, while not perfect, better than the current picture (which is rather incomprehensible, after all). Shall we crowner this?
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! They aren't even examples. Do we make crowners to pick between the best Not An Example image we can find now? Are we that desperate about having an image?
I honestly prefer no image than one that actually leads to misuse.

1.1 and 1.2 are not examples? Huh?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThey are examples of Forced Perspective but not Perspective Magic. Perspective Magic is when a character actually does what the Forced Perspective is implying he's doing (IE; in 1.2, if the character is actually holding the sun, it'd be an example).
The current, which I agree is unclear, is an example. Coyote actually reached up, and plucked the moon from the sky.

I honestly have no idea what the image on Perspective Magic is supposed to represent. I guess the dragon monster is casting some kind of spell and the girl is poking a hole in it, or something?
Googling "perspective trick" I found several suggestions that I think are much clearer, such as the tower of Pisa◊, this setting sun◊, and this sizing trick◊.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!
