You do not need to protect the scanner.
Extractors have an activation field (like the one around the pod in defense missions). You enter the field, they activate. You'll need to protect as many as you have activated, so I suggest not activating more than two unless they are all really close together — if they're that close, you'll probably activate them by accident anyway.
I haven't felt my sanity challenged by the new mod UI. I didn't use it a lot, but the only complaint I have so far is that when you get a lot of same-rarity mods beside eachother, it's hard to tell at a glance what is where.
Oh, and knowing how much mod points you have is less intuitive than before.
Event doesn't sound as bad as I thought, tho I really am not looking forward to having to defend stuff like extractors instead of just yolo'ing in survival and disregarding anyone's safety except mine.
Y'know, you could just play solo.
but HOW?Worth mentioning that every time an excavator finishes you get a reward, like in Survival. Since excavators only take 90 seconds to finish and you can have up to three going at once, the loot ratio is actually much better than Survival's.
Pity there aren't any Void missions.
How is that supposed to help with defend objectives like extractors? I didn't state having an issue with other players. I should've used "anything" instead of "anyone".
Uh, sounds neat. Too bad they don't stack. Or, do they?
Pretty sure they do. Can you imagine the outcry if they didn't? Especially since they're replacing Survival, which does.
I wasn't sure, they're in an odd spot between defense and survival. Are the reward s good tho?
Maybe. I've gotten keys and a bunch of melee mods so far. Apparently the tonfa stance drops there, too.
In other, mildly interesting news, polarities now have names.
'V' (damage) is "Madurai", 'D' (defense) is "Vazarin", 'bar' is Naramon, 'slash' (abilities) is Zenurik and the weird new kid polarity for melee stances is "Unairu".
Now, I hear you ask;
Well, it doesn't really, except that it means that the whole pipedream of Steve to have polarities being associated to non-player clans of Tenno is actually seeing some very little progress.
Oh, and these clans/polarities are somehow related to Focus, from what I understand. Maybe in the next year or so we'll finally something come out of Focus.
Popped in to play today and got curb stomped by the three with a low end primary weapon after finding myself rushed into a tight space. How embarrassing.
Who watches the watchmen? You're here right on time, DE started an event which seems to be pretty popular so far. Corr broke down the events in a post at the bottom of the previous page, if you're interested.
As for G3, screw them, they always show up when I only have shitty gear. Except that one time, but that's it.
Is the new event soloable? Because I'm stuck with my public firewall happy internet so no grouping for a while.
the G3 are indeed an anoying bunch, they always seem to pop up at the worst posible time, heck the first time i saw them i was doing vault runs with a team full of tenno who prepared to quite simply survive the infested horde while ranking up some gear, and obviously all with dragon keys, then we all discovered that the grineer could invade the derelicts and, more importantly, that the grustooges could come with them.
also, it looks like now tuefel is a cute n' cuddly killer bunny... YAY BUNNIES! ^w^
piggy ganon, piggy ganon, does whatever a piggy cannot...Just did a run up to 933 points solo with Oberon and Djinn, so I'd say it's solo-able.
It gets goddamned crazy, but at least you don't automatically fail upon losing a dig site. In some tiles you just get 3 extractors smack dab in the middle of a field and you absolutely cannot stop the flood of Grineer, but other wise it's doable.
Protip: giving an energy cell to an excavator replenish it's shield.
EDIT: Did the Phobos one with 1644, and decided to extract in comfort instead of daring to be badass. I probably could've lasted longer. I expect to be done when I complete the one on Europa.

False alarm. Went to visit my mom. She'll prolly put me to work, but I think it's fair trade.
You didn't knew Grineer can spawn in derelicts? For me they show up at least once every five runs.
i didn't know at the time, it was quite a while ago, not long after the grustag were introduced, and i sure as hell didn't expect the grineer to come with them either.

piggy ganon, piggy ganon, does whatever a piggy cannot...This event was made infuriating due to my internet, but now that I have it done...I wonder how the bloody latron wraith fits in lorewise?
AJ here :DIt doesn't. Perfect answer to every question/problem/mystery ever.
& i think it's quite simple really, wraiths aren't upgraded grineer weaponry(at least not aymore), they are weapons modified/improved by the red veil, that way not only it makes sense but also fits the rakta syndana, which is wraith colored AND was stated t obe given to members red veil as a mark of honor, not to mention latron isn't the first non-grineer weapon (nor the first tenno weapon) to be wraithed, there's strun wraith after all.

piggy ganon, piggy ganon, does whatever a piggy cannot...Well, that explains the Latron Wraith, but it doesn't work retroactively for the weapons gifted by Grineer that are Wraith, like the Machete for instance.
As for Strun, it's "faction" was never really clear, it's one of the proto-weapons so for all intent and purpose we can't really tell the manufacturer from look alone.
Maybe the Red Veil uses the same equipment-modification stuff as the Grineer?
but HOW?LATRON Wraith says no.
Btw I'm holding that bad boy right now. According to Warframe builder it's stronger than Prime variant. What are chances that it will get nerfed eventually? Like Strun Wraith which now has lover base damage than regular Strun.
How is it stronger than the Prime variant? According to the stats, it has almost half as much damage on its primary damage type. It's a straight upgrade to the regular Latron, sure, but I think the Prime is still better.
Prime has 15% crit chance which is pitiful for crit weapon. Wraith has 25%. Of course Warframe builder, as it tend to happen, may be wrong, so feel free to compare them with tools of your own liking.
Not that it matters. We do overkill on entire star chart anyway. (Pluto with MK 1 gear. Bit hard, but not hard enough considering weapons in question.)

Do we need to protect the scanner or extra extractors even while one extractor is under siege? Because that sounds hard to keep track of.
but HOW?
