Anime vs Western Animation RP - Brainstorming

Okay then. I had this idea for an RP for a while, but I couldn't bring myself to set it up. At least, not without a coherent plot first...

So what I had thought up so far was that characters from both Anime and Western Animation was in a state of a Cold War, with tensions between the two sides escalating to a point where it could lead to their universe's equivalent to World War III. Anything more ideas that could be added, I'm all ears.

Would it be between existing characters or OCs?

Existing characters.

Animesque characters would be in the middle?

I would imagine Animesque characters be at the West's side, but because they are Animesque, they would be (understandably) put under a microscope by their Western peers, and completely ostracized and seen as shameless Expies by the Anime characters. I thought of some other ideas, but this seemed to make the most sense in context of the plot.

Interesting... who would be the leaders of each side?

That's one aspect of this RP that I was trying to work out. I had an idea about the 4 main U.S. kids shows acting together with cartoons from other countries (like England and France) as leaders in the Western side, while the Anime side had Shonen Jump and other Seinen anime as their leaders. There would be no one clear leader, there would be multiple leaders with the same amount of power each.

Hmmm...interesting idea. Would Michelangelo from the Ninja Turtles work as a character?

What about Korean stuff? Some of the anime recently were made by Koreans ya know.

They would be on the Anime side. I consider Western Animation any work made in the US, Canada, UK, France and other European countries, and Anime would be works made in the Koreas, Japan, and others.

Hmm... interesting idea you mentioned, about the treatment of animesque characters. So, kind of like the treatment of Asian Americans during World War 2, then?

Am I the only one who noticed this is very, very similar to the plot of the current challenge at Infinities?

Well, having the plot of this RP having similar elements to what Infinities is doing make me somewhat worried that this would be considered as shameless copying, but eh. That's why I have it in brainstorming...

...I'm thinking about having the sign up sheet either tonight or tomorrow. I have the overall plot and interaction down (it will be free-form, but will follow the main story) and the setting (a blend of both fictional and real world settings) is all wrapped up. I'll need a co-GM though...

Don't worry about "copying" Infinites. Unless you've literally kept up with the whole series (which I haven't) you probably wouldn't have a clue what's going on there (which I don't) and due to their format, this is like comparing an 'episode' to a 'series' anyway.

Second, what about VG characters based on animes or rather VGs that have had anime based on them? I mean, without VGs I'm stuck to Zoids Chaotic Century and Axis Powers Hetalia on the anime side and a legendary amount of "Sweet FA" on the WA side, whereas videogame characters offer me a bit more to work with, even sticking to animation-style.
