So, several possibilities.
1: We get the intro for season 3
2: We get a trailer centering on one half of team JNPR
3: We get episode 1 of season 3 And it's blocked on the stream

The tournament scenes are being teased.
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Qrow◊

So, are the four colours of the four academies green, white/silver, blue and amber? Or are they the four elements (earth, air, water, fire)? Or both?
The arena sounds interesting though. Biomes. Whoo!

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading. They've teased a couple of new characters (and acknowledged it's a huge cast).
Weiss's older sister Winter will appear, as will Qrow. Qrow will be voiced by Vic Mignogna. They did discuss Ren's voice. They didn't want to make him voiceless, so made arrangements with one of Monty's brothers who will be voicing Ren from now on.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading. This arena ... are we Slizers/Throwbots◊ now?
With a '0', not an 'O'I remember those!
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerSome interesting stuff. I'm liking the new character designs. Winter especially looks perfect for Weiss's older sister.
I have to admit, after what they said (and showed) about the Arena, I am very interested to see it.
Does anyone know who 'Shane' is? He's an animator on their team and they seem really excited about his visual work.
I still don't know if I should be using spoiler tags, so I'll err on the side of caution. I'll remove them if everyone's okay with it. Never mind.
By the sounds of it, the Arena's terrain will be changing. It looks like holographic inspiration meets biome concepts meets Dust technology. Tournament fighters will have to cope with the Arena's terrain on top of dealing with opponent fighters.
There are going to be market stalls, too. They want to capture the festival idea - when a festival or big event comes to a town in real life, market stalls will often pop up around it to take advantage of the crowds. So, we're going to see market stalls on Beacon turf. For some reason, I really like that little detail.
I'm not a huge fan of Qrow's design, but hopefully he'll grow on me. I did like Winter's appearance. Did anyone catch the voice actor's name? It was Elizabeth something.
I don't know what to make of the Team 'Funky' reference.

Well, either that, or Todoroki from My Hero Academia is in the tournament.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...Looking at Team ABRN's names, I'm wondering if Arslan is inspired by The Heroic Legend of Arslan. That was one of my favourite animes back in the day when it first came out. I was bummed it was incomplete - it was a gorgeous anime to watch.
That... or Arslan's inspired by an Irish folk band. I'm easy.
Actually... Hori is an Indian musical genre, while Bolin is a character in the The Legend of Korra. Reese is a type of bass sound and, if I stretch my mind back, a Zoids character. That's three music connections and three manga/anime connections.

Also, Qrow. Yeeeeeesssssss.

I'm interested in what kind of subplot we will be getting now that Winter is in the picture. We've been told all these things about the SDC from it's detractors (White Fang) except from someone that actually works high in the chain of command. Hopefully Winter will fill us in on this information as well as information on Weiss's home life and hopefully the "Weiss got abused" angle will be address and hopefully squashed.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2Alternatively, Winter will be a bitch, and suddenly we will wonder how Weiss turned out so normal.
I'd say....
....let the Game of Throne begin!

I am setting myself up for disappointment hoping all the fandoms expectations of SDC being an evil corporation will be proven wrong?
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2I'd have my doubts it'll be too blatantly that, at least.
Then Weiss wouldn't want to clean things up. That wouldn't work. She'd have to burn the entire thing down.
I get the feeling that the head hancho of SDC were also for changing it but the White Fang would attack and force them double down. Then the next in line would promise change but once they got in power the Fang would hit where hurts and then the change wouldn't happen and the cycle would continue.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2I wouldn't be surprised by a bit of grey either.
I mean, Weiss' "The White Fang made my life very difficult by attacking my father's employees" would ring pretty hollow if it was revealed "Said employees' duties included whipping Faunus slaves, like, every day. They had a minimum quota."
