Well, it has still succeeded in a way because, while the site's up, the general workflow is borked by countermeasures. We've just adapted for the time being.
The fact that the site is still up and responsive is still much better success on the part of TV Tropes than the limited success of the attacker(s)

I wonder how the crowner outage is going to affect the wiki. Especially in TRS, where there isn't anybody like Willbyr running the rollcalls.

To me, it's fixed. I haven't encountered any problems personally, and this will wind up costing the attacker soon.
I'm a bit confused by the blog post Fighteer wrote. Are the people or group responsible known, or were their motivations ever declared at some point?
