I bought this game on Steam last week. Within a week I managed to get all 45 feats. I had a blast with it.
Also I knew Shield Knight was the Enchantress long before I even saw the ending. Possible Untwist, maybe?

Don't Press Your Luck too many times in life. You'll just get whammied. Here's some Shovel Knight fan comics I have stumbled upon.

The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever."Get out of that throne or I will be forced to use verbal violence against you"
That's my new favorite quote.
Finally got around to beating this game yesterday, since I felt like I had to before really getting into Shantae and the Pirate's Curse. This is probably the best Retraux indie game I've played. It was difficult, but I never felt it was so difficult that it seemed unfair. I'm debating starting the more difficult New Game+ mode (or screwing around with the numerous cheat codes), but I have other games to finish first, so I might not do that.
It's been long enough, so I don't think I need to spoiler tag this, but Shield Knight being the Enchantress caught me by surprise (I mean, I realized it during the last Black Knight encounter, but still). Hell, the fact that Shield Knight was female caught me off guard (I didn't look at artwork for the game until after I'd beaten it, where it was more obvious). She was pretty badass during the game's finale though.
Also, the soundtrack is ridiculously amazing. Virt never disappoints.
Anyways, the trope page mentions some new features, such as Gender Swap Mode and playable bosses. Are those still in the works? And will the 3DS version (the one I have) get them?

Those features are probably going to be in all versions. Can't wait to play with Plague Knight.
And when the story began I had three guesses as to what had happened to Shield Knight:
1- She pulled a Face–Heel Turn
2- She was brainwashed into evil
3- She's just a Damsel in Distress
I guess I was right with my second guess, but I wasn't expecting the Enchantress to be her, at least not until I got to the overworld battle with Black Knight
Oh I had forgotten that Black Knight was a roaming enemy too. It's been a few months since I had played the game last, so I had forgotten what he said there.
As for the bosses, I'm somewhat surprised that King Knight was one of the playable ones, but I guess I can see why he has his fans. I just prefer the other knights to him (like Mole Knight and Polar Knight).
Hm... I kind of hope that there's an explanation for the Tower of Fate, the Amulet (of Fate I assume), and the Enchantress at some point. I was hoping the trope pages would help but they're apparently just never explained (which is fine, but still).

My two favorite are Plague Knight and Propeller Knight, so I at least got the former, though I like mostly because of how crazy fun his battle is than the character himself.
And hey who knows, the three alternate stories for each knight could have some more lore in them.
That makes me wonder though, who will we face in their stages when we're playing with them? Shovel Knight? Because a boss battle with him would be awesome.
Would he get his own boss theme?
I have a message from another time...So, the game is coming to Ps4, Ps3 and Vita.

Is this a Jo Jo reference? What song would be remixed to be Shovel Knight's battle theme though? I would say the first stage's song, but Black Knight already took it.
The title theme?
I have a message from another time...I believe Black Knight's last battle includes the title theme in his battle theme too so...
So does The Betrayer. We could do it again in a different way.
I have a message from another time...That would be pretty cool. The title theme is amazing, hope it becomes the next Mega Man for having tons of remixes.
I wonder if Shield Knight could be playable? Possibly in gender-swap? It'd be neat to have a moveset designed around deflecting attacks and bashing into things. I like the detail that she's a head taller than Shovel and saves herself at the very end, it's a great sign of changing times compared with what kind of female character would be in 8 bit games of yore.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureSorry about the double post.
The Playstation version also has Kratos as a boss.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureHuh. Not too surprised that Plaguey's hooking up with the potion game lady.
New bosses? Cool. I wonder who's in the Explodatorium. If it even is a standard level anymore and not a hub town.
I have a message from another time...And just when I thought I had run out of things to do in this game. Awesome! I still want a sequel but these DLC modes should tide me over until then.

It would be something special if Shovel Knight turned out to be a boss here.
"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018Shovel Knight for final boss!
...I have to say I'd much rather have playable Shield Knight.
There was a fan vote King Knight, Plague Knight, and Spector Knight won.
But if you have the Wii U or console versions they are supposed to be working on a mode similar to Smash Bros. where you can play as Shovel Knight, Shield Knight, and the Order of No Quarter.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureIsn't there going to be a gender swap mode too?
The vote was for the Order Of No Quarter + The Enchantress. Shield Knight was never on it.
not under that name and identity, anyway
I have a message from another time...
A Chester chest can be found on each of the eight Order of No Quarter stages, yes. However, if you fail to find him before beating that stage's boss, he'll start selling that stage's relic at his shop in the village.
