Yacht Club Games presents: Shovel Knight

I'm slightly disappointed that King of Cards is another prequel (I was hoping for a continuation/mini-sequel), but it still looks really fun. Can't wait for it.

Something about King of Cards reminds me of the Wario Land games.

Looking forward to a more light-hearted adventure, though I can take or leave the card game (I feel like it'll be important regardless).

Color me impressed if the card game element wasn't just tacked on, as I suspect it was.

If the card game is good I will like it. I'm not really a fan of card games. I hope they change my mind.

I'm good with it being a prequel. I'm sure the sequel would happen when they make Super Shovel Knight and have it be 16 Bit.

I highly doubt it, but it would definitely be interesting.

I need those amiibos. They will sell out before I ever have a chance of seeing them in person.

I doubt that, honestly. Stores in my area, even in crowded places like the mall, almost always had Shovel Knight amiibo in stock. So long as there's a similar supply, I'd imagine you'll be able to get them pretty easily!

The new Shovel Knight expansion was at PAX and GameXplain got some off-TV footage of the Switch version.

Huh, wonder why this didn't show up during the Nindies Showcase.

I haven't watched many Nindies things before, but seemed like they were concentrating on announcing upcoming games. Maybe it didn't show up because it's an update or Yacht Club doesn't have a solid release date for the update yet?

At least a few of the announcements didn't have a firmer release date than "2019".

It's just kind of weird to see a major update for arguably THE indie game announced the same day as an indie showcase from Nintendo, separately from said showcase.

I'm assuming Plague Knight can't use Bursts in Showdown, yeah? I get why he can't but I'm still a little thrown off by that anyways.

On the other hand, I'm super happy to see Goldarmor's playable- I've got a soft spot for mooks, so I'm taking a shine to the little guy already!

...Looks like they took the Street Pass battle feature from the 3DS version of Shovel Knight and heavily expanded on it to be a proper fighter.

I haven't watched the full video yet but it's very interesting to see this after seeing Shovel Knight cameo in so many platform fighters/fighters in general.

He probably can, but the players in the video were IGN employees who weren't testing out the movesets of each character much. In the screenshots Yacht Club Games released you can already see a bunch of moves that weren't in the video. Hopefully someone at PAX West this weekend will figure out the movesets.

a bit more info here, geez thats a lotta characters for what I assumed to be a bonus content update...

No 3DS/Vite release makes me sad, gonna have to buy the game again.
