I havn't really followed the series so I don't know if it continued but the girl in Bakemonogatari had a thing for scissors and there is a summer installment of the series.

Those are way too many shows with scissors, jeez, when did they become such a trend?

Kami Nai: Interesting concept, but the execution feels... how to put this kind of childish? I'll probably give it another episode, at least

Humpy looks and sounds kind of like a younger, more cynical Dante so I found that amusing while watching.

[up][up] The narrative stumbles a lot. We jump around through various scenes and when we finally settle somewhere at the halfway point it's maddeningly dry. Not to mention it has some serious cases of Mood Whiplash.

And the sun flare censorship hurts that scene.

Well, it doesn't have very strong characters (much less likable ones), little plot so far and I see little reason to keep watching.

I'm pretty harsh on stuff I don't like, I know.

The premise is interesting, but that's just the blurb. Where's the meat of the show?

[up] Yeah, that was....odd. Humpy reminds me of Roland for some reason. The general feel reminds me of that also. probably won't last I bet.

Probably worth another episode or two at least, as I have no idea where that is going. Still, that is the most passive-aggressive version of the The Call Knows Where You Live I've seen in a while.

Dog and Scissors: One scene crashed right through my suspension of disbelief, but otherwise it was decent. It's less Cuticle Tantei Inaba than I expected.

I like Dog. Dude has his priorites straight. Can't die because books. Most pressing issue? No books. He should have stopped at one flat-chested joke, I thought the other quips were contrived.

Scissors on the other hand did not make a good initial impression. What she did in that scene, how she was planning to cut up a sapient dog... seriously thank god she knows what gratitude is.

One other nitpick: Dog seeing all the people he's met in his life. Went on for far too long and was a rather crude approach to introducing characters.

Thought it was neat how the idol girl (who will probably become part of the cast) appeared in posters and stuff. The kebab thing was amusing too.

[up] Watched it by accident. Was better than expected(ok, they were low).

Read Or Die Shout-Out in the intro I think.

The facial expressions on Dog were pretty good. He was more of a Deadpan Snarker than I expected also. I would agree the cast-flashing-before-his-eyes felt a bit forced. It should have either been shorter(maybe show all at once or go faster, just so we know they exist basically) or longer(and given some actual info about each and their relation to the story). I don't think the inbetween version worked as well. Minor nitpick really.

I didn't think she was actually planning on killing the dog. YMMV.

That was one of the more random Fanservice scenes I can think of. I liked the Incredibly Lame Pun it led up to, but did she really need to be in her underwear for that joke? The first one felt a bit forced also. I'm sort of guessing it turns out to be wrong. We hope.

There was hint of an actually plot at the end also, above and beyond the sillyness. Overall, it was less silly than I expected. This was obviously the setup, so probably needs another ep at least to see where it's actually going.

Free! was interesting. I think I'll keep watching. Although the ending theme was hilariously irrelevant to the show itself.

Watched Brothers Conflict (which perhaps inevitably is Bro Con for short). Shoujo troped gender-inversion of Sister Princess, yeah I pretty much know what to expect.

... Did the girl have to have a talking animal companion? The voice suggests it's supposed to be comic relief or something. But it's not really comic or a relief.

Probably the most amusing part was seeing the overload of effeminate guys. The shota-type character looks like a girl, and he's not the only one!

I'd say insofar as the guys do interact it'll keep track of their relationships well, but it remains to be seen how well the show manages such a large core cast, of presumably relatively equal importance, with any grace.

Attempted rape count: barely one hug and one kiss which is a pretty good score.

I think it may even be better than all the otome adaptations so far (being a light novel series) but it still doesn't rate that high or do much to distinguish itself. And the girl who may have just enough strength of character.

Probably won't follow, but it wasn't actually painful.

Rozen Maiden's a continuation (Just watched the 1st ep) but the first episode is basically just a sped through recap of the first manga/two anime.

That's a nice surprise. I take it it's too early to tell if it's continuing from the anime or just adapting the second manga?

Is the summary sufficient for someone new to the series to get a grasp of what's going on?

On the new Rozen Maiden: That is not how things went down in the anime. I mean, the way the presented it meant that it couldn't be, but the status quo is quite a bit different than how the anime ended. It resembles some things I heard about the manga, though. Also tonally and stylistically quite different. Feels a lot like something I'd expect from SHAFT, actually

Stella [...] C3bu: Wasn't super-impressed. Though they're kind of taunting us with a new character introduction next episode, which'll hopefully include a certain part of the manga they skipped

Rozen Maiden: It's incredibely rushed. From what I see they will stuff whole first season into few episodes and then continue with manga storyline (it diversed greatly after that.)

Edit: From preview it actualy seems that after this introducion episode they will skip right to sequel. I don't have clue how this will work.
