So I watched Dog x Scissor.
This was... odd.
It gets...odder.
Well this◊ line will be hard to top. XD
Genshiken went from pretty good to goddamn nice. Seems like a fresh set of issues this season.
Flyer than an ostrich, moshin' in a tar pit...People seem rather mixed on the new Genshiken.
Free!: Naked anime boys for once. About time. Seriously though, the cast looks likable enough (even though it's like they came out of a reverse harem) and their antics are fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun. Too bad I can't go to the beach yet.
Genei o kakeru taiyo: Woooo, Magical Girls and cool clothes~ The character designs are painful, but the rest of the art is great. I just hope it doesn't go the same bone-headed way Madoka did.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerSo, I just need to ask (though I am probably still a week or two too early yet), what are looking to be the really good shows of Summer right now? I'm currently watching Servant x Service, Blood Lad, and Senyuu 2. I just want to pick up one or two more shows or this will be a back log season for me.
If you don't mind Slice of Life: Uchouten Kazoku and Silver Spoon are clearly first rate.
Oddball of Season is Kamisama No Inai Nichiyoubi Not everyone will like it, but it has lot of to offer. And it's very well handled.
In comedy department there is Love Lab (it has good jokes but there is whole that controversy about it being straight instead of Yuri) and Inu To Hasami Wa Tsukaiyo (it's a bit silly, but very unconvential)
And there is obviously Genshiken Nidaime, it is third season (fourth if you count OVA), but if you didn't see it's predecessors you should do it RIGHT NOW! There is no excuse for such Impertinence.

-voting for Silver Spoon-
The anime looks good (so far)! And since I've read the manga, I know it will get even better!
As for other recs, I'm waiting until at least 3 episodes before reccing anything else.
Plants are aliens, and fungi are nanomachines.Seriously! Gatchaman Crowds has a scissor thing too!?
Not Three Laws compliant.Scissors is the new swords these days. I mean, we have the new Gatchaman, we have Dogs and Scissors, we have Danganronpa, we have Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge, we have Mysterious Girlfriend X, we have Pumpkin Scissors(Even if its scissors only in name), and we even have Baccano(Even if it's only a minor character).
I miss my katanas D:

"And you must be Jonathan Joestar!" - SueKill A Kill, too.
Watch SymphogearI'd rather scissors than katanas. (Though in a perfect world, the popular weapon would be spears)
Last few:
Rozen Maiden: Fairly good, but still too early to say where it's going. Probably going to keep watching
Neptune: Not my style. Also, I kind of hate Neptune
Gatchaman Crowds: Super-camp, and I like camp. Not sure how much I like the main character, but I seemed to be warming up to her even over the course of a single episode
As for continuing stuff, I found the second episode of Love Lab to fall completely flat, but Symphogear seems to be doing fine
Kimi no Iru Machi 1: Mostly the guy's accent that entertained me. I'm not sure what to think about the art style.
Yamishibai, one of the shorts, is really creepy. It's ghost stories, so that's a good thing.
Not Three Laws compliant..... Drugs and lard?
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntSecond season finale. Don't ask.
Don't mind me. I'm just a creepy little lurker.I could have sworn that Hitagi Senjyogahara's arsenal included scissors, too. And that she has scissor-print lingerie.
That's possible but, it's just on same level as ruller or pens. Real Noble phantasm of her is the stapler.
There's still pages missing for some of the shows that aired. That makes me sad.
@Shlugo - Whoa.

I didn't say that creator's approval = good work automatically. I just think that (generally) it does help to have the original creator on board and enthusiastic about the adaptation.
I'll have to wait and see the anime first. I'm usually fine with adaptations, so long as they meet a certain (personal) standard of quality.
That said... I'm generally unhappy with Hollywood's adaptations of Greek and Roman mythology. (Could you puh-lease stop making Hades the bad guy...)
Plants are aliens, and fungi are nanomachines.
