Shotgun shortcut, like the DMR shortcut, is Premium only.

And I'm nearly at Flashbang already, so I don't need the 'nade shortcut.

So, I'm watching a playthrough video of this game because I missed the deadline for a very good blockbuster deal on PSN, and am too curious about the storyline to wait for another deal. Just finished watching the Shanghai level.

... F***, this more messed than Modern Warfare 1 and 2 (haven't played/watched 3 yet). Did that goddamn admiral just nuke Shanghai?

And is it just me, or is this game's singleplayer campaign short on in-between-missions interludes? Or is that what the CGI movies are? Because I was astonished to see that so much time went between the first two missions without any explanation of just what the hell is going on — like, what was the "status quo" before everything went to hell.

South China Sea level now.

Oh God. No. The USS Titan...

And I thought the shitstorm hit the fan already. Turns out we've got a super-hurricane coming in.

EDIT: Video finished.

Damn. Kovic was not as much of a cold-hearted asshole after all. RIP, Kovic.

Gonna continue tomorrow. Need some f***ing sleep.

Eh, the single player campaign is really some bullshit.

If Shanghai was nuked, the main characters would've died.

Then what was that EMP blast? I don't remember any news about the US or Russia developing that kind of weaponry.

[up][up] In a bad way or a good way?

Then what was that EMP blast?

A random, poorly contrived plot device.

Bad way, it's plagued with stupidity, plot holes, even more stupidity and just not getting enough love in development.

Mulitplayer is great though, that's wonderful and I like it.

If you ask me they should have made the storyline longer, actually put some effort into it and made the campaign about the actual good guys. The Russians. Ditch this China thing too. Their military isn't competent or advanced enough to really scare America or Russia.

Just started the Kunlun Mountains stage.

Fuck. The pseudo-Interface Screw when Recker gets electro-tortured is goddamn scary... and makes sense, since an electric shock is bound to mess up your brain activity, and thus screw up your senses and thought processes big time.

And I knew it. It was Jin Jie whom the team got out from Shanghai, wasn't it? Some assassins you hired, Chang.

[up][up] The Americans suffered from one overzealous commander, the Russians suffered from failing to stop the Paris nuke, and the Chinese suffer from the commander of their armed forces going mad with power.

Everyone's the Good Guys. It's just one big Let's You and Him Fight. Obviously, Aliens will arrive and reveal themselves to have engineered the conflict in Battlefield 5.

See that's fine and all by my problem with the Americans is that it should have ended in third game. They've got Solomons corpse right there, they've got Blackburns confession, they've got the nuke right there but nope. They go about escalating the war and apparently ignoring all the evidence.

The Russians meanwhile have had their teams running around trying to save the world and now they're getting their asses kicked because the CIA refuses to believe that they aren't the bad guy. Despite a ridiculous amount of evidence that they're not.

Besides too many people Make the Bear Angry Again, it'd be so nice to see Russia as something other than a supply of vaguely evil mooks for once.

Yeah the new maps do look pretty damn sweet and I'm really damn hyped about being able to blow up carriers. Titan mode was kickass.

One thing that's bugging me though, I don't recognize two of the weapons. The AWS and SR338. All the other ones I've heard of.

Also bothers me that the 3GL thing just makes the M320 able to shoot 3 grenades instead of it being the actual 3GL made by Metal Storm.

Tashgar stage.

... I don't get it. Intel said that the Russians will side with China in the event of a coup against Jin Jie, but here they are fighting against the Chinese, on Chinese territory. Something's not right. Scratch that, I think I just got confused. The PLA must be pretty stretched thin, huh?

Oh fuck me. They're gonna blow the dam wide open?!

... Crazy enough that it might just work, though.

... They didn't not just do what I think they just did.

Oh, hell. They did. They hooked themselves to a freaking cargo plane while it was flying at high speed and altitude and they were on the ground! Is that even possible in real life?!

How. The. Hell. Did. The Chinese. Get. A Navy. Strong. Enough. To Go. Over. To. And. Take. Over. THE SUEZ CANAL!

Now I'm glad that I didn't buy the game. Get it just for the multiplayer? Sorry, but never been much of a multiplayer kind of guy, especially when it comes to shooters, for a variety of reasons that I'm sure would bore you.

Nah, if you really wanna have fun in the multiplayer you have to play through the ridiculously awful campaign.

Do the last mission 3 times actually.

Well, not exactly necessary to have fun. The guns you get are very similar to ones you unlock in multiplayer anyways, but they're nice to have nonetheless.

But yeah, Battlefield has always been a multiplayer focused series. A damn good one too.

It would've probably helped a lot if Saudi Arabia's Internet servers were much more reliable than they are now. Then again, perhaps they improved a lot since the last time I tried to play a multiplayer game that's not between computers within the same room/house, judging by the fact that my brother does not seem to have any significant complaints of the kind when playing Heroes of Newerth or League of Legends online.

I wouldn't say it's worth $60 but if there's a sweet deal I'd definitely go for it provided your internet is good.

Premium is another $50 but when you do all the math it's quite a bit cheaper than getting all the DLC separately.

'Course, if you wait long enough, they'll probably release a premium edition, which is the game plus a premium code, usually for the price of the game at launch. And even that cheapens eventually.

Just got Naval Strike, it's pretty great so far.

Carrier Assault is my new favorite game type, if I've got one complaint it's that the matches are a bit too short but it's nice otherwise.
