I'm amazed this doesn't have a conversation here yet. Anyway, who else has been following this show? I've watched this one since it premiered and have been pleasantly surprised most of the way. The treatment of vampire abilities and lycanthropy has been relatively interesting and the last episode with the hippie wolf actually had me cheering. That guy was basically someone I wanted to show up since they introduced Josh's characterization.

I haven't actually seen the US version, but I've heard good things about it. I'll probably check it out once I get the UK series out of my head. I want to watch it fairly, instead of sitting there like "What? That didn't happen in the UK!" grin

That's probably a good idea, since the makers haven't even looked at any of the UK version past series/season 1.

I like this show, though I've missed the past few weeks. Josh seems to be the axis character, or like the character that ties all of the characters together.

That's a fair assessment. Josh is definitely the one holding this little adopted family together and while I won't spoil it they set up some nice character development for him in the most recent episode.

And [up][up] the page for the show points out that it definitely overtookthemanga.

I am so glad this thread has been started! I was thinking of starting one but was too lazy to look through and make sure one did not already exist. I must say, this is shaping up to be a fine season in-deed. I lost interest in the UK version after season 4, and overall, prefer the U.S. version from season 2 onward.

I really don't like it very much.

So I've been away for a long time and got a chance to catch up on the show. Oh boy awesome stuff.

Got resolution on the vampire killing virus and Josh has begun to make strides to taming the wolf but lost his Obi Wan.

The thing I'm most curious about now is Why are Aiden's turnings not working correctly? Is it some psychological imbalance with him? The fact that it's been so long since he turned someone and he's just out of practice or is it a side effect of the werewolf blood

I love this show! I prefer it to the UK version; I care a lot more about the characters. It seems to deliver more on an emotional and visual level.

Though one plotline I wish we'd gotten from the UK version...Bishop getting resurrected by his dumb girlfriend. But I just adore Mark Pellegrino.

What keeps me engaged are the beautifully emotional moments that have been earned, not delivered as cheap wangst (main exception would be I did not get why Aidan was so attached to Suren, though his "dinner date" with Josh, Nora and co was adorable). Like, last season, when Aiden couldn't bring himself to kill his former protege. It would be a ridiculous piece of wangst in a lot of shows, but what made it awesome was Bishop standing the background, saying you can't kill your sons (and thus giving a new, very sad, slant to their duel). Brought to an awesome end when Aiden's later walking, leaning into his hallucination and looking like a wreck.

As for Aiden's turnings, I'm guessing it's the virus. The werewolf blood protects him but doesn't destroy the virus, so he's a walking STD.

I love that idea. It'd be a really sad thing for Aiden and a reminder that he didn't get away unscathed.

I have absolutely adored this season. I am curious as to why Aidan blacked out and can not remember not only killing, but turning, the professor's ex. Also, I have a feeling that Sally and Donna are far from resolved. That, or Sally is going to be an even more powerful poltergeist than she ever was before. Did she shred the lady from within? Also, loved loved the dress, but dear goodness why the sweater? I also like how the botched turnings harken back to Aidan and his wife having so much trouble conceiving and avoiding a still birth.

It's an interesting season end. We now at least know WHY vampires don't drink from wolves. Highlights and questions?

Did Donna drag Sally where I think she did? Hell? Are we going to be getting an escape from the underworld plot?

Liam wasn't kidding when he said his blood was different and now we know what happens when a pureblood turns someone. I wonder if Josh is on permanent mode lock or if we're getting a Battle in the Center of the Mind

Finally I hope that woman at the end of the episode wasn't Aidan's wife or a descendent of her because I almost feel like that would be too much of a coincidence (or create some kind of gaping plot hole)

Wow, I mean wow that was one hell of a season finale. I don't think that Donna dragged Sally to Hell, mostly because I do not think Donna would take herself there. I feel she may have disconnected Sally from the house, preventing her from whoosing back, and took her to the same dimension Donna hid out in when she knew the gang would be looking for her - the place behind her doors. I am very curious about the woman. While Bishop might have turned her, I think it would be too much of a coincidence for her to stay hidden so long after his death. She could be a witch or have been resurrected somehow. I think this show likes to play with expectations. For instance, many people guessed werewolf blood would be the cure or vaccination, but how many saw the affects of siring popping up? I wouldn't be surprised if wife-look-alike is place straight-forward for a while only to be completely turned on its head.

Saw the sneak preview, it seems like the Kenny situation is going to be addressed right away and I'm glad Josh isn't being written off.

I don't which is crazier, Josh's situation or that Kenny already seems to controlling Boston.

[up][up]Judging by the preview, they're going with Bishop turning her.

Amazing! I wonder if this means that the vampires turned by those who were turned by vampires who drank werewolf blood eventually become stronger. It would explain Aidan's son's leverage over Blake. The way he threatened her suggests to me it is more than a case of having some kind of dirt on her. Like maybe, the reason Liam was so worried about them was in part because he knew once they passed a certain stage they would essentially molt and re-emerge super strong.Maybe in the past, those sired in such a way were destroyed before they fully regenerated.

I love the character interactions and am so excited for this season.

Any guesses on how badly this will backfire?

I get the feeling that Sally is in danger of pulling a Willow from Buffy. I hope that Josh is turning into a werewolf who can shift anytime once he learns to control it. Maybe the wolf will be with him even more at all times because they cut him out early. Though I also think this may be an interesting take on the UK version where after months of denying his wolf, he gets overcome by it. Someone else has theorized a lot of the problems may be psychological and causing a physiological change. I think Suzanna is a vampire hunter who is out to kill all other vampires because she sees them as inherently evil after what she did after first turning.

I liked that bit of lampshading by Josh.

Looks like Aidan is going to kill his wife next and Sally is teaming up with thatnursewhonameescapesmebecauseineverreallymanagedtocareabouther.

The dreaded triple post.

Sally has been on a roll this season. Looks like the alternate timeline plot is over, but a bigger bomb was dropped. Still wondering how well this all wraps up.
