The Humongous Mecha RP

After yesterday's events in what was supposed to be a relaxing, peaceful and most of all, fun day-off with a mute and socially stunted boy named Leo but went horribly, horribly horribly wrong; Emil groggily got out of bed, but even such a simple task is blundered as the Frenchman got tangled up in his blanked and ended up falling flat on his face on the floor. But he can be forgiven for such a blunder due to him being completely hungover, sporting a few bruises on his face and arms and having gained a newfound fear of taxicab drivers. Especially if they're of Latin American descent.

I'll be lucky if Leo even ever makes eye contact with me again... Where did I go so wrong?

Rather than dwelling on the past, a past he would much rather forget; Emil decided that the first thing to do is to shamble towards a bottle of aspirin oh so conveniently placed on his desk.

Meanwhile, the man known as Gerald sits before his desk reviewing information, notes, and writing things down. On the page he was writing down his purposes for a Foam Cannon. Foam Cannon: Main purpose is being a joke to cause others to underestimate both pilot and mecha, if not the designers behind it as well. It being a cannon, let alone made from foam is a ruse. Stopping to think it over, Gerald looked down at the mutant kitten. "What do you think Fiona?" The kitten simply meowed and sneezed a bit of smoke. Turning back to the page he continued. The true function of the cannon is obstruction and distraction. While capable of bellowing smoke, the cannon's structure contains smoke and can be deattached. Ultimately, it's purpose is a Mecha-sized smoke bomb. Gerald would need to review the new pilots' mecha soon enough, but in the meantime he compiled all the pages and began his way to the underground to check with the progress.

There was a knock on Emil's door.

Emil heard the knock and opted to wait a bit longer for his splitting headache to settle a bit. But even then, his voice came out strained and tired.

Yesterday did not go intended at all when they arrived in the city. Suffice to say, Leo was fidgeting nervously even while taking a shower. "Hey, what did I tell you about using my shower!? I don't care what Samson lets you do, but you're using my stuff!" Startled by her voice and covering up with the curtains to see Faith giving a curious eyebrow, she walked away speaking "Whatever, just get out soon or I'll drag you out."

Yesterday was not expected at all when she arrived in the city. She was happy, quiet, calm, friendly even. Her memory got kind of fuzzy up to a point, but that jerk hardly told her anything. She doubted crabapples were even shrubs or whatever. He's just like the rest of them even. Doesn't want to deal with her longer than they have to and wouldn't answer her questions... Watching Leo hastily exit the bathroom Faith glared before sighing once gone. She so hoped today would be distracting, and proceed to draw out her lighter once again.

Hans walked in,

"Emil, I need to talk to you."

Hans would notice that Emil looked like he had been through a warzone, which is sort of true; but that's a story for another day.

Dan and Summer made their way to the SERVE Base agreeing on the way to spend the day without each other.

The duo began exploring the base continually as Dan went to Vaughn and Alex to help him uncover the secrets in his USB while Summer walked around the base to find someone to talk to.

Vaughn, Alex and Dan were in a private computer room with all the doors closed for secrecy with the security cameras turned off too.

As Vaughn and Alex searched the files Dan stated "I have to warn you guys, the stuff on here won't be pretty."

"No kidding. This USB is full to scratch with files. What do you hope to find on here?" Alex asked.

"Some material on my parents' project. And to warn in advance me and Summer are that project." Dan stated smirking at the thought of their reactions.

Both Vaughn and Alex looked up to Dan confused as Vaughn asked "What do you mean?"

"Both me and Summer are illegal Eldritchian hybrids made by our parents. That's why we're here and why we inherited the mechs. So far we seem to have latent psychic powers. My life feels like a Sci-Fi movie now. The good kind though." Dan explained.

Both Vaughn and Alex look in shock as Sarah, Simon and Nolan walked in.

Sarah speaks up stating "Well we just had a bad day. Gerald stopped us dismantling Reise and we were so close."

"Indeed if only I could kick Gerald off SERVE. I wish his past digressions would effect him more."

Simon replied snarkily "Oh yes please remind us of his time as the 'Corpse Digger'. Not like we haven't already heard that. *sees Vaughn and Alex shocked* Guys what's going on?"

As Nolan sees their reactions he asks "What did you tell them Dan?"

"That me and Summer are illegal Eldrtichian hybrids." Dan replied, grinning awkwardly.

Nolan facepalms as Sarah and Simon also look in shock.

Vaughn is the first to speak up stating "Well alright then I guess. It does make sense on some level."

"Oh please now I'm invested in seeing what's on these files now." Alex stated.

"And so am I" Simon added.

The two hackers got to work as Simon joined in. Sarah meanwhile went to search for Summer wondering what she has to say.

As they searched through the files Nolan went next to Alex and asked "So how was your day with Faith?"

"It was alright I guess she was nice but rather distrubed at some points. Though can someone tell me why I was doing that? My job at SERVE is to be a computer technician, not to be an au pair." Alex replied, thinking back on the day.

"It was so you could be used to Faith as a person. Though your description of her doesn't sound right. She is way more distrubed." Vaughn replied.

"Whatever. Just don't let me do the work I'm good at it." Alex stated as Nolan replied "Alright as you wish."

Summer meanwhile, sat at the cafeteria bored eating aham sandwich and soft drink. Suddenly Sarah came and sat next to her.

"Oh hey. You're Sarah right, the mech engineer?" Summer asked, hoping her question was right.

"Yep. And Dan just told me and a couple other some important things." Sarah replied.

"He did!? Oh boy. Dan could never really keep his mouth shut. I knew he was going to have the USB checked out but not like this I suppose." Summer replied, chuckling at Dan's decision while wondering if he made the right choice.

"Anyways I want to hear your side of things." Sarah stated.

"Really?" Summer asked.

"Yeah, I'm curious and I have a neat idea for your mechs I want to run by you." Sarah answered smiling.

"Well alright." Summer replied as she told Sarah the whole story about them discovering the truth and all. The two were beginning to get along.

"Hey George, are our quarters coed?" Jack asked, laying on his bed deep in thought. George just shrugged,"they told us their were pilots quarters and showed us to our rooms, I didn't see anything about separation based on gender." This caused Jack to nod, "yeah, I can see that. Does that mean the head's are coed to?" George slowly looked over at Jack, "get your mind out of the gutter. I thought I taught you better than to think up things like that," then George grimaced,"goddamnit, now I have to find out. Lets go see if we can't find someone."

The flesh is weak!

"I just wanted to talk, sorry if this is a bad time."

As Vaughn and Alex looked through the files while Simon kept watch for anyone who wanted to come in the room, Nolan bought Dan to the corner looking annoyed.

"Why did you tell them? In fact why did you hire them to search the files at all?" Nolan asked quietly as he closed the door next to him.

"Look I believed it would be far more effiecient if more than one person searched through the USB. I told them because the moment they saw the main details of the project in those files they would see that me and Summer were half-eldritch." Dan explained.

"But why even go to them?" Nolan asked.

"Because I've seen how much you've trusted them to get work done. I may have known them little for a couple of days but if you trust them well enough then I can too." Dan stated.

"You may have a good judgement of character but you need to watch your steps here carefully. The moment more people find out about you and Summer the more I can't protect you." Nolan explained.

"Really? I mean I've seen some weird things here and at the Bio Lab. I mean me and Summer saw a girl there who looked almost exactly like Faith but was so much nicer. She was even familiar with my parents. So clearly Gerald is holding some secrets of his own about Faith and what she is." Dan explained.

"Oh yes that...well let me tell you one thing Dan. I am working my hardest to expose SEVER and Gerald for what they are. Both have their own agendas at hand and I did join SERVE to be stuck in the middle. I built up allies and made up favours on both sides. So from now on you're with me. And I plead that from now on you be especially careful on what you say. I'm aware that since you've gotten your mech you've been a lot more social and outgoing but you are still capable of mistakes." Nolan stated back.

"Alright. I'll be especially careful now." Dan replied.

"Good now let's see what they've found from your parents files." Nolan stated as he and Dan walked back to the computers and watched them look through the files. Suddenly blue prints came up for a mech. They all looked wide eyed in shock.

"Now this is something." Dan exclaimed as he saw a mech designed for two pilots, him and Summer.

Finishing her routine of burning away her doubt Faith started looking through her "closest" for something to wear. Stopping by the between Disgaea and Kingdom Hearts based outfits Faith calmly looked them over. "No, already wore Gothic KH II Kairi... Mao is pretty cool, yeah, but I really need a sword for that one. Standard Form and Final Form from Kingdom Hearts II are pretty great, though... Yeah, totally going to wear a Organization XIII outfit for today." With that Faith gets dressed, wearing the black cloak as she exits her room in search for adventure... Which she finds awfully fast, noticing someone new heading down the fact carrying a bunch of stuff that didn't look like paperwork or work materials. Mildly intrigued, Faith calls out to the person "Hey, what's with all that stuff!? I don't recall anyone carrying such things before, so you're new here or what?"

"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."

Hans' desire for small talk and not anything overly heavy or serious caused Emil's headache to subside slightly. And since Hans was well... A rather tragic figure, the Frenchman figured that any bit of socialization would go a long way.

"Go right ahead then."

-"Oh snap!", Celeste thought as the figure clad in black stood in front of her, "I didn't saw any kind of security checkpoint on my way here, so I thought that verifying the items I brought from the city wasn't gonna be necessary... Does this mean I'm incurring in a violation of the security protocols? Is this person going to take me into custody? That uniform certainly looks like something a special agent would wear! No, no, no, no, no! I don't want to be tortured because of a minor oversight!", Celeste's breathing and heartbeat started to accelerate, "Calm down, Celeste! Calm the heck down! You're only going to make this worse for yourself! You didn't bring anything dangerous nor illegal back to the base, so there's no need to be worried about! Allow the agent to inspect your belongings and they will let you go in no time."

Celeste made an attempt to consciously regain her composure... She was still nervous, but also sure about her innocence, so she walked towards the "agent" while waving in a friendly manner, and said:

-"H-h-hello agent! I'm Celeste D. Caballero, former test pilot #7 for G-G-GeneSys, and a new pilot assigned to the Delta Squad. Nice to meet you! Oh, and these these things? They're just some personal effects and assorted commodities I got from the city, you're free to inspect them if you have any doubts about my claim."

Celeste extended her arms towards the figure in black so that she could inspect the bags she was carrying. As she stood so close to her, she couldn't shake feeling that she had seen this person somewhere before.

-"Wow! This agent looks quite young! S.E.R.V.E.'s personnel sure is composed by some peculiar kind of people. But age doesn't have to do anything with ability! Just think about Ms. Faith Reproba Long! It's said that she has been fighting with the invaders since a very young age, and her battle record is so impressive that it puts entire Anti-Eldritchian Extermination Teams back at GeneSys to shame... Ms. Long, I'd like to met her some day... But reports also say she's never allowed to interact with other people due to some sort of security protocol... That's so sad. No one deserves to be forced stay alone like that, security protocol or not! I'll talk to Commander Briggs, and I'll reque-"

Celeste's thoughts were abruptly interrupted when the agent's hands reached out to inspect the packages, and she saw distinctive burn marks in her hands.

-"Fire scars?! This poor agent must have been suffering some serious injuries, they almost look like...",and in that precise moment, the truth hit Celeste like a ton on bricks, "Wait a sec! Burn scars... Jet-black hair... Intense red-eyes... And this pale yet tempered skin... Celeste, you friggin' moron!"

Celeste panicked and dropped all the packages, scattering most of the items contained in them in the floor, as she exclaimed:

-"Ms. Faith Reproba Long!", then she bowed before her,''"I'm so sorry! Please, forgive me for being so rude and clueless! I didn't recognize you with that black uniform. A lowly rookie like me has to right no address a veteran in such familiar manner. I'm so sorry!"

Celeste thought to herself: "Way to go ace! You've ruined yet another first impression! Not only you didn't recognize her, but you also made a friggin' mess here! Now she'll forever think you're just a clumsy rookie who can't do anything right."

It took a few seconds for Emil to register the gravity of Hans' statement and to brace himself for the coming heartache. Honestly, Emil thinks that the days will keep getting worse and worse.

Some time later, after Magnus had saved the design for... whatever it is he was working on, he had slept for a while. When he got up, he realized just how hungry he was.

"... Dangit, self."

He got up, checked his map data, and head to the cafeteria-area-place-thing.

"The Stick has sentimental value. It's like an enormous, hideous teddy bear we can kill things with." -rikalous

Faith was startled and somewhat confused this person actually walked up to her willingly, too stunned to really do anything but look this person over. She seems to be roughly the same age and nothing really strange about her besides her behavior, before turning her eyes down to the bags the girl was holding out. Her hands slowly went out to check the bags, her interest piques when she noticed clothing inside. Faith jolts back in shock when the girl dropped everything, finally regaining her composure when the girl bowed before her and... Complemented her? Either way, Faith straightened herself out and readjusted the outfit before waving her hand dismissively. "Eh, at least you can acknowledge I'm your superior. Everybody else can't tell awesome even if I bite them, and you're a pilot right? You're off to a way better start than those noobs Stupid Boy and Virgin Whore. So, uh..." Scratching the back of her head, she continues "Why do you have all those bags? I don't remember you, so you're new right?"

Yesterday was pretty crappy, nearly being mauled and devoured to death not helping, and having to re-add all his contracts certainly murdered his time. He facepalmed at the sheer stupidity when he learned Riese was being dismantled, and hated to admit to himself that Gerald was the sensible one for once. That unholy event pushed out of mind, Samson had yet to meet with anyone personally today. Leo was probably worrying when Samson didn't answer any of the messages. He hadn't seen the usual trail of chaos spread in Faith's wake, or any sight of Dan. That last part was reasonable at least. Heck, he hadn't even seen Gerald at all today. God, there's going to bloodshed the day he honestly wants to see that man's face.

Still startled after the shock of the unexpected encounter and her clumsy reaction, Celeste undid her bow, and addressed back to Faith to answer her questions:

-"Yes, Ms. Long! I'm the newest Delta Squad's pilot, at your service! And those bags contain clothes I had to buy because I was a fool who didn't bring any along herself. I was so distracted and excited with my new assignment that I completely forgot about packing stuff!"

Celeste thought to herself:

-"What are you doing now?! Ms. Long has no interest in you silly mistakes, your lack of attention nor your personal issues! Now you're making yourself look like a self-centered punk! Rrrrrrgh! ...But wait a second, those names that she mentioned... 'Stupid Boy' and 'Virgin Whore'? ... Wow! Those are the lamest call-signs I've ever heard! And I thought that Hartman had it bad when Captain Kiske assigned the call-sign 'Snowball' to him as some sort of cruel ironic joke... Hmmmm... I wonder who they are."

"Well, that wraps up that mystery,"Jack observed, rubbing his sore cheek from a slap, "now what do we do, George?" George was staring down the hall, seeing Celeste talking to someone he didn't know, probably one of the pilots he hadn't met yet," Lets go introduce ourselves," He drug Jack with him, "Good day to you Ms. Caballero," George greeted as he walked up.

Celeste became even more alarmed once she saw Gdolkin and Krueger approaching to her and Faith. Even though she wasn't as afraid of them as during the first time she met them, she still felt anxious around them... Specially after having read their battle files in the GeneSys' database. These pilots were also the real deal! No wonder they were recruited to work for the Delta Squad. Celeste thought to herself:

-"Why?! Why do I keep humiliating myself in front of these veteran pilots? Not only I must look like I have no backbone to them, but now I'll also look like a clumsy girl that can't go on her way without making a mess... There's just no hope for me..."

Celeste sighed to herself, and turned around to face Gdolkin and Krueger:

-"Mr. Gdolkin! Mr. Krueger! It's a pleasure to meet you both again! I'd like to introduce you to someone very special! She's Ms. Faith Reproba Long, one of S.E.R.V.E. most experienced pilots! Please, be courteous to her, she's a living legend of the war against the Eldritchian menace!... Now, if you excuse me, I'll allow for you to introduce yourselves... I have to clean-up the mess I made."

Then she crouched down to pick up and reorganize the items she had dropped all over the ground, as she thought:

-"...And now I'm on the ground trying to fix my mistakes... I guess that is my place after all... There's no way I can compare to these pilots... I guess Captain Kiske was right about me after all."

Celeste had a flashback to one of her first experiences as a GeneSys' pilot...

A tall, slick man clad in powered-armor was standing in front of Celeste. He had short white hair, and a set of piercing onyx eyes which were watching her with contempt and a hint of apathy. His name was Regulus Kiske.

-"So you're the Test Pilot #7, Celeste D. Caballero."

-"Yes, sir! I've been reassigned to the 4th Anti-Eldritchian Extermination Team! Nice to meet you! I yearn to start working under your command and become an useful member of th-"

But then, she was abruptly interrupted by the man:

-"From now on, your call-sign will be 'Princess 7'"

-"Princess... 7? That's quite an unorthodox call-sing, why d-"

-"Do you have a problem with my decision, rookie?!", Regulus exclaimed in an exasperated tone

-"N-N-No, sir!"

-"Good! Because that's precisely what you're: A princess, no more than a pretty face who managed to get to the top through sheer luck and the favor of those in power. I'm aware of your story 'Princess 7', and I can tell a fraud when I see it. And no matter how hard you try, you'll never become a true pilot! You'll work for us, because I can't go against my orders... But you'll stand out of my way if you know what's good for you. Understood!?"

-"...Yes, sir.", Celeste exclaimed as she tried her best to hold her tears

Admittedly, Hans' problem was far from Emil's scope of knowledge; but still, he felt that those who probably could help his friend should have done better.

Summer and Sarah continued talking as Sarah bought up the question "What is exactly the history between you and Dan?"

"It was simple I suppose. Our parents we're really close and as a result we became prety close friends. As time went on things were slightly different. Dan's aspergers meant he really couldn't talk or socialise with people and he lacked the drive to make new friends. As a result I was essentially his only friend. I mean he was loyal but he doesn't seem to realise how much feelings I have for him." Summer explained.

"Really this seems like the first time you're not with him." Sarah noted.

"Well you see as time went on and this all happened I realised something. I was too obseessed with Dan. I wanted him to know I love him after all these years and as a result I always stuck by him. But after all this I realise I need more time away from him. I need to think about my life, what our parents we're up to. Why did I get stuck in such an odd situation?" Summer replied.

"Well good on you for making the effort. I've had many friends in the past who wouldn't have guts like yours. Besides making mechs is my main focus in life." Sarah stated, smirking.

"You're a great person you know. You hold your own, get work done and still seem to have some fun in between. Even if a job like working on mechs is stressful." Summer stated.

"What can I say? Some people just have this sort of skill." Sarah replied.

The two girls finished their lunch and walked off to Sarah's quarters, where she wanted to show Summer some specs on her mech.

Dan looked down at the blueprints exclaiming "Wait two piloted mech for me AND Summer. I'm aware mechs can have two pilots. In fact they tend to be more efficient but this seems odd."

Nolan replied "Indeed. I wasn't entirely aware of this plan. Though it seems your parents wanted to make your abilities even more powerful. Once you two are connected in the same mech, both your minds merge allowing you to share thoughts and memories. Considering that you two have psychic powers imagine what this could pull off."

Vaughn, Simon and Alex were shell shocked essentially. The three felt over the heads and caught in an even bigger conspiracy, Alex especially felt out of it.

Oh boy. Why can't things just be rainbows and sunshine for once? This is messed up. Helf Eldritchian hybrids, two piloted mechs, psychic powers. Why can't my job just be simple. At least I have the willingness to do the right thing. I guess that's why I was trusted with all this info. Alex thought.
