It should be there by the end of the week. Look at how far they are already.
Is that really enough to do a movie?
My guess is that Warner Bros and other investors will pitch in more because of proven interest.
Besides, it's past one million dollars now, and it's just halfway through the day. It will break records.
And the record has been broken. The income would have to hit a massive downwards curve to not be funded at this point. Wonder if stretch-goals will be a thing.
Awesome. And it's a 10-year reunion, at that.
Also, I have no doubt that this will get funded.
This is going to get funded before the first day is over.
I wonder if this will be to [insert name of TV show here]: The Movie projects what Double Fine was to... well, Kickstarter; Zachary Levi just gave this a shout-out on twitter while insinuating that chances of a Chuck film just increased.
...And it's funded.
And I haven't even watched Veronica Mars.
Yes! Can't wait Kristen Bell is perfect in every way and this totally negates my usual dread of bad revivals.

An interesting look at how the film's record donations would impact the film industry.
At least to me this is awesome.
And now I have another short lived but loved show to watch.
Lol, I was just thinking the same thing. Veronica Mars just went on my list. Mostly because of Kristen Bell.
Anyway, this is fascinating. I wonder if we'll see any other projects popping up on Kickstarter soon.
The last hurrah? Nah, I'd do it again.lalalalalalalala

This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet. The size of the final sum will heavily depend on how many high tier prizes they can provide, they had to add more this morning and they're all pretty much gone already.
The creator of Pushing Daisies has mentioned wanting to try it.
Looking for some stories?I have no familiarity with Veronica Mars but I would just like to say that it's great to see the internet taking some power from corporations.
And that is exactly the toxic attitude that is going to schism Kickstarter. Kickstarter isn't "taking power away from corporations", and it never will. Instead, its going to make products happen, that wouldn't otherwise happen, by making them safer and more sure bets. . . *including for the corporations involved.* Like, for example, this one; you don't think Veronica Mars is magically being done by three guys in a garage?
Home of CBR Rumbles-in-Exile: rumbles.fr.yuku.comPlus, they mentioned that 2 million is the point at which WB will get out of bed and help them. So in this particular case, it's actually giving more power to the corporations.
Still, almost double-funded with 26 days to go. How awesome.
I never saw the show but this might just be reason enough for me to do so.
Well, it's helping corporations this time, because the Veronica Mars IP is already in the unfortunate situation of being owned by Warner, but on the long term, crowdfunding offers an alternative to publisher control.
Just look at Obsidian's Projects Eternity. They did a Kickstarter, then they got offers from publishers to let them have the IP for production support, but with $4 million int heir pocket, now they had the power to laugh in their face.
There are a handful of other cult classics that could get the same treatment as Veronica Mars, but what happens after that, if Kickstarter continues to grow as it does now? Writers nicely line up to kickstart new I Ps under corporate ownership?
Well, sme might do that for the promise of financial safety, but not all, so it will still decrease the power of publishers.
Oh, I agree. I was just saying that in this particular case, corporate non-intervention was a non-issue since they specifically set their target at the amount that would secure them corporate assistance.
Plot blurb:
Source with some further details inside, the most significant is that there will be a Sequel Hook.
Well the thing has now opened up to some more international backers and managed to breach $4m and 60,000 backers (in fact it was exactly 61k when I last looked at it and it's back into "changing before your eyes" mode).
Does anybody know exactly how much 61 thousand t-shirts is going to cost?
It's not going to be 61000 t-shirts. Not every backer got to that level.
That's not really my point.
The Kickstarter is over, and they bagged at least two more records along the way, one for "All-time highest-funded project in FILM category" and the other for "Most project backers of any project in Kickstarter history". This is alongside "Fastest project to reach $1 million", "Fastest project to reach $2 million" and "Third highest-funded project in Kickstarter history".
Final tally: $5 702 153 with 91 585 backers

So.
If people can collectively pledge $2.000.000 in the next 30 days, this will happen.
I don't know what to hope for here.
