Oh, since we're doing this tonight (at least for me), what IRC channel should we go to? The one mentioned earlier by Kyle Jacobs?

That probably works. I may be slightly late but I'll be there.

Yes, we'll be using Kyle's channel.

Though I doubt we'll be rolling any dice, since we'll be creating characters, each of you'll need either your own dice, or use an online dice roller. Because I don't have a dicebot for the channel, yet.

I can just find a online dice roller for now. A dice-not would be cool tho.

I set up #Troper Changeling OOC, for out of character discussion and dice-rolling. We'll keep #Troper Changeling for in-character actions and dialogue.

Keeping the two separate makes them easier to read. I hope that's OK with you all.

okay. Where in the basic rulebook can I find concise char creation. Or do i have to consult changling for that instead?

Weird Username, are you going to be keeping a session log?

WeirdUsername Since: Nov, 2010

I'll try to. I didn't keep the logs this time, because it was only character creation, but I'll probably keep both the in-character and out-of-character logs.

Hey kiddies. Is there still room for one more?

Maybe. Someone didn't show up at character creation yesterday.

If it turns out Clevomon doesn't want to play anymore, you can have the spot, Exelixi.

Alright.

Hm, what characters were created?

Robin Starveling, oneiromancer. Played by Slendid Suit.

Annabelle Stevens, Manikin. Played by Talden.

Evan Gordon, Mirrorskin. Played by Kyle Jacobs.

Mr L created a Darkling inside trader, I believe. Has access to contacts, and is pretty good with stealth and computer hacking. Don't have the sheet, yet.

In addition we don't really have a shared backstory or anything at the minute. Not sure how important that is to anyone else but I tend to be a stickler for these things [lol]

Yeah, that would be a nice conversation we should have. We were mostly focused on rules yesterday, and the only thing we really have in common is a Hollow. A pretty nice, quite large, non-descriptive six point Hollow... We should talk about it too!

Alright, so let's start tossing out ideas. Do you guys have some idea of the backstory you want? I've seen Starveling's but nobody else's.

Also when do you want the first session to be? I'd be extremely happy if it was at the same time on Saturday, as that's one of my very few reliably free chunks.

Saturday nights (well, from my point of view) are okay. Sometimes I won't be free for a game, probably to do another game in the meatspace with my friends, but I'll keep you updated.

As for my character, I had a pretty defined story, I just wasn't in the mood to develop it at the moment.

To make a long story short, Annabelle was the first born in a huge, exceedingly poor family. There was always little brothers to run after, avoiding gang wars in the streets, that kind of thing; not exactly a good living, but pretty lively. Except one night, one of the brothers didn't came back. So she went to the streets to find him... and never got back.
One (relative) eternity of daily torture later, she came back to our world. Still wandering the streets, still protecting the kids (although not especially her family, I leave their fate untouched for the storyteller to screw me later), except with more weird powers. And she's starting to get a reputation, you know, the strange girl with ten times too much clothes on her, who gives chocolate bars to street urchins and punches really hard the drugs dealers and others pimps. Something like... a boogeyman-vigilante-hobo? note

Pretty easy to get in the group, actually. The promise of a warm bed and/or beating up some wrongdoers, magical or not, should be plenty enough!

(I'll probably type a more complete story for the DM this week, but that should be enough.)

I'm usually good on Saturdays though this coming one may not be great. It depends on when someone gets back to me, as I'm supposed to be over his on he Sunday to help the St Patrick's Day parade and he lives a couple of counties away.

Backstory-wise? Not too sure right now. Of the three characters we currently have, 2 are Summer court so it might be an idea to try work out why Starveling is hanging out with them.

Wasn't Mister L an Autumn, too?

Anyway, a Court doesn't completely define what you are, it's just a group of people who "adopts" you based on your sensibilities. You won't see Anabelle going to war, despite what the Summer court might say. So, as long as you have some common tastes with us, or find our company enjoyable, you don't need much more to make a group.

And even then, you look pretty squishy, it's good to have some protection. Summer has that, in spades.

True, true. I think my mindset is in Changeling Miami still [lol]
For reference the entire premise of Miami as a setting is that all the Courts are at each others' throats and loyalty is super-important.

While the Courts won't be on the verge of killing each other, there will probably be some (Or a lot, it depends on how the campaign goes) Court politics to deal with.

Luckily, the group's skills are mostly social/stealth oriented, so you shouldn't have too much trouble. Obviously, we'll also have some Fae butt to kick every now and then, but we'll probably focus on the stuff that most of the group is good with.

Are we still good for Saturday? I presume we'll do it at the same time as last week, but I want to make sure everything's OK for everyone.

I unfortunately can't this Saturday. I'm going to be in Birmingham with a friend of the family so no internet access. Any time this evening would be fine for me though probably (though short notice I guess)

Technically, I'm supposed to be in class, but I'll be in computer labs, and the IRC works. So, I can sort of be there for my afternoon/your evening.

Funny you bring this up. I'm currently sitting in a game store with a freshly bought hard copy of Changeling and waiting for Friday Night Magic to start. If we're doing something tonight then I can make it, but I might be late.
