Yeah, still too much aliasing on the edges.
How about some actual pros and cons for the pics?
Hakan:
- Pro: Speed Lines, dust being kicked up = actual proof of momentum and motion. I.E: proof he is sliding.
- Con: no enemy seen to indicate it is an attack despite his fists clenched together.
Everything else:
- Pro: enemy being shown
- Con: no proof of motion or sliding.

I'd say Zafina's got her skirt lifting from the air and a Hit Flash which implies motion.
King's got her hair slightly moving back.
Honestly motion's the least of my complaint for any image. If the edges of the king picture didn't look so pixelated/aliased, I'd vote for it.
I'm actually not seeing how Hakan possibly can be an attack.
Title's edited with the crowner note.
I figured out why I don't like Zafina - it looks like she's falling over rather than sliding because not only is she not clearly sliding, she seems to be trying to brace herself against the ground with one hand. King's attention is still all directly in front of her, and she's in a clear kicking position that just happens to be on the ground.
Hakan is second-best, but he does look like he's playing volleyball - you can almost see where the field lines are based on the spectators! - or possibly faceplanting. (And now that I can see it, I can't stop seeing it.)

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableIt doesn't look like a volleyball court, but it doesn't look like a fighting arena either. I pointed out that an important piece is missing completely, which is true, and suggested that the information ("this is a fight") should be filled in by a caption if that image is selected. Some images "say it all", some don't; that doesn't. Clenched fists absolutely do not by themselves imply an attack. Familiarity with the character makes it seem more clear than it is, I think.
Annoyed at "red paint" apparently being used for "criticism of a detail I don't agree with". That card is played too often. It's a legitimate observation. Also, "Come on this has dragged on long enough"?! That is not possible. There is no rush. Please do not discourage people giving opinions, that is never appropriate.
I like the King one. It's cool that the slide attack is also being used to dodge.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. That's not why I used the expression.
Check out my fanfiction!I can see people calling the King pic ugly/pixelated a lot. That particular point is up to conjecture, but as far as I'm concerned, an ugly picture which effectively demonstrates the trope is better than a good-looking picture which doesn't. None of the other examples depict how a slide can be useful outside of an attack, and they could in fact be detrimental if users start thinking it can only be a form of attack (that's the last thing I want to happen). Hakan if nothing else shows that it doesn't need to be a kick, but the pic otherwise has nothing going for it.
Here's a point I made earlier:
Unless someone wants to bring up the Painfully Slow Projectile argument, I don't see how the other three do anywhere near as good a job at illustrating the trope. If you think differently on this, please, bring up some pros arguing in the other three's favor.
It doesn't look like an attack to me. It is insulting to be accused of nitpicking. That's a perfectly reasonable observation.
"...an ugly picture which effectively demonstrates the trope is better than a good-looking picture which doesn't..."
Not by a lot. Looking good is nearly as important I think.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I downvoted all of them. I agree with all the reasons I've seen that these pictures don't work; too bad the Charge Kick didn't make it into this crowner, but whatever. I'm still waiting for something I can vote up.
I must be cruel, but to be kind That bad may begin, and worse be left behindBump...not looking good for anything right now.
Looks good for Hakan IMO.
14:8 is not good when compared with 10:7 in terms of vote ratio.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanGiven the way the last crowner went, I hadn't planned on putting anything up if it was less than 2:1 in the runoff, so either some votes are going to have to swing or this one is going to just turn into a stuffed Image Links page.
For better or worse, the Hakan pic's at a good enough ratio for this to be called. It's up, potholed, and tagged, and I've made an Image Links page from the other suggestions. Caption or no? I was thinking "Coming for your ankles!" or something like that.
"Not just for kicks."
Works.
Check out my fanfiction!I can live with that.
Ditto.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynmanworks for me.
Done, and the tag is adjusted. Locking up.
Crown Description:
A runoff crowner has been set up for this thread because no strong and steady consensus was reached. Please avoid downvoting an option unless you just absolutely don't want it on the page.
x7 "Weak?"
But seriously, dodging is a part of the trope's purpose. If that's what it looks like, it's done its job.
If there's something off with it visually (personally I think the sprites are downright beautiful), here's how it would look at wiki size:
