I just launched this and I wanted to get a nice picture to spruce it up a bit.

I wanted to use the Tekken wiki's picture of Zafina, but it has that logo on the top-left corner. I was also thinking of using one of Kirby's many examples, but his body-shape might not illustrate the trope.

This picture of Tom Brady could work pretty well too.

[up] Those are all pretty good...definitely prefer Zafina and Brady over Kirby. It wouldn't be a problem to crop the logo out of the Zafina pic.

Like this?

As for Brady, I even had a caption in mind: "Not just for baseball."

[up]That's good. Shows it's an attack, and not just a movement technique. The Am. football one is a little too ambiguous, and the Kirby one doesn't have an enemy (though it does have a small hit flash).

3 is good...although, now that I've seen it at wiki size, would it be possible to get a shot of her doing that move against a different character in a different place so the colors don't all blend together? If not, then I'm fine with it as is.

So I looked around a bit and found a few interesting examples.

This picture here continues the sports theme, but with soccer. Not bad for humor-value.

In these two pictures, Rick from Splatterhouse is performing it almost perfectly, and it goes with the theme of tropes like Shoryuken and Video Game Dashing having images that look like they were taken from an old game manual.

Finally, this shot depicts how King's command-slide is done in The King of Fighters, and it has the move being performed against an enemy (while ducking beneath a projectile).

Do any of these work better?

I like 7.4 the most out those.

And to Willbyr: it looks like Tekkenpedia has an even better angle of Zafina using the move (it's definitely higher-resolution and depicts Sergei being pushed back/having his foot knocked out from under him).

[up][up] 7.4 is the best of those...not sure if it's better than 3, but it's a contender.

[up] That is good. [tup]

I don't like 7.4 at all. It looks more like a dodge move than an attack. Relatively speaking. It's also ugly.

I think 9 is an improvement, though 7.1 works as well.

I have minor doubts about 9. At first glance, it looked like the other guy doing a counter-stomp. But that might just be me. It looks fine otherwise.

Though I kind of prefer 3.

Find a larger version of M. Bison's Crouching Heavy Kick and we'll have a clear winner. Notice the dust being kicked up. That is how you tell they are sliding.

7.4 is good to me. 3 has too many running-together colours - as well as an hideous aspect ratio.

M. Bison Slide Kick 1, 2, and 3. This is taken from Youtube footage, though it is at high quality. The "blurriness" you see is part of the character animations to show just how fast everything is happening. Nothing I can do about the Super Meters at the bottom of the screen blocking the character's feet.

Please note the dust that Bison is kicking up when he slides.

I think that slide looks as awkward as it did in the original.

[up][up]I don't really like it. Bison's style is supposed to look uncanny/inhuman due to his powers, and it shows on those pictures. I think he might be augmenting the slide by pushing himself along the ground psychically.

I was looking around and the picture for Mega Man's slide move would work pretty well.

In here you can see speed-lines and dust, while the the charge kick shows that it can used to attack. Maybe the lack of an enemy on-screen hurts it a bit, but most of the other pictures aren't really conveying movement as well as they could.

If Bison uses his Psycho powers, his body or body part is enveloped in a purple fire. This is just a regular attack.

I'm cool with that Mega Man pic though. Too bad that in only like.. one game does it ever get upgraded into an attack after defeating a boss.

Do we want to look for anything else or go ahead and start a crowner?

Crowner's hooked. I made a new crop of the first Zafina pic for its option, taking off from the side instead of the top...here it is.

I've changed the Zafina #2 option to how it would look at wiki size. If you voted on it already, take a gander at this and judge if you want to change your vote or not.

[up]There's some text at the bottom of that picture reading "Copywrite Namco" or some-such that needs to get cropped first.

It's barely noticeable at wiki-size, much less legible. I didn't even see it until you pointed it out.
