It is theoretically possible to run virtually anything in GURPS. It won't necessarily be a good idea, but it is theoretically possible. GURPS is my third choice for any kind of game, following a game actually dedicated to the concept and Unisystem or Mutants & Masterminds (depending on what the concept is). It is never my first choice for anything that isn't a setting written for it, because trying to simulate any other setting will either require a good set of rules eliminations or clarifications to make it fit the setting well, or players that are well-versed in and faithful to the setting that they don't go for traits that are unsuitable to it.
I've been wondering if it were possible to do Problem Sleuth as a game.
Forgive the name, it's all I can really come up with.
This is a thread for those who are curious and/or new to tabletop games, and are wondering if a weird or out-there game idea is theoretically impossible to render playable in GURPS.
I myself am in the former camp, interested in tabletop games on-and-off every few months. I live in a small area and I don't know the local roleplaying community, if my town even has one. As such, my experiences with games stem from Something Positive and a very quick leafthrough of the GURPS guide for beginners. I occasionally have odd ideas for games, and a nagging curiousity as to whether the games could work in a real session. So, uhh... yeah.
The idea that prompted me to make this thread: Is it theoretically possible to run a game of Harvest Moon through GURPS?
