Funny this usbject comes up now. I was just reading a case where a woman was suing a spouse for alimony for millionare (in our coin) amounts. The charges she registered were for like $7000 a month, because she registered the divorce along with complains of domestic violence.

Funny thing the sort of things she charges for. For example, one of the witnesses she summoned was her hairdresser who mentioned she went to visit him three times a week (glad to hear she has time to care for the child) that monthly expenses for clothing were up to $2k, etc etc.

But I think that is more of a Sexism or maybe even Men's Issues thing.

It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothes

Taxes and wealth distribution are not the topic. And rape and income are only on topic so as long as the anti-women sexism aspects are the topic.

The Senate passed a bill today, 98-0, that will require the DOD to ensure anyone convicted of a sex crime to be registered in the FBI database. And at least some lawmakers are pushing for more contraceptives to be available to active duty women. We'll see how that survives the reactionaries in Congress, given how much they hate the thought of women who can't get pregnant.

Bill Cosby's in the top news again. He's being sued for defamation. I wonder how an earlier defamation suit by Tamara Green played out.

This reminds me of something I saw in a movie wherein a fem character took a picture of male character and sent it to her friends before going near him. Am really starting to think that people should wear wiretaps all the time.

That senate bill is horrible. The sex crimes category is ridiculously broad. You can get on that list for taking a piss in the woods and getting caught.

I would make a crack here advertising my parody group People for the Ethical Treatment of Plants, but that joke stopped being funny when the Swiss government passed laws prohibiting abuse and humiliation of plant life, prompting me to realize that this is probably exactly how PETA started.

So instead, I'm just going to say that pissing in the woods is about as literal of a God-given right as you can get. I can support that legislation only if the people proposing it are personally willing to go out and arrest bears for violating it.

The Swiss government did not pass any law. It was merely a report by an ethics commission regarding genetic modification of plants that was taken out of context by sensationalist media. [1]

Plants need protection from maltreatment and pollution, government experts said on Monday.

A report by the government-appointed Federal Ethics Committee on Non-Human Biotechnology (ECNH) described interfering with plants without a valid reason as "morally inadmissible".

The committee looked at ethical views held on plants and issues of how their use could be justified.

It said that from a wider perspective, "all action involving plants for the preservation of the human race was morally justified".

A majority of the committee found that genetic modification of a plant did not contradict the idea of its "dignity" if it did not harm its adaptive or reproductive capacities, adding that the patented use of plants was acceptable.

The ECNH was appointed to give an ethical perspective on the field of non-human biotechnology and gene technology and develop proposals on the principle of the dignity of creatures.

I wonder how many problems in the world can be summed up with "It was merely a report by [INSERT GROUP HERE] that was taken out of context by sensationalist media".

I'm pretty sure that a lot of the issues that this thread covers would fall under that.

I think you misread. This is requiring people convicted of sexual crimes under the UCMJ to be registered on the FBI sex offender list. If you have complaints about how law enforcement tracks sex offenders (or what they list as a sex crime, such as the mentioned urination) that's a whole other topic. As it stands now, someone who is kicked out of the military for committing rape is not registered as a sex offender, a situation I think we can all agree is Not Good.

There is a store I like in town called Dollar Tree. Everything is a dollar. And many of the items are really nice quality even at such a small price.

So I was very surprised to find even here, where the products are so alike, there is still the same problem of men's products costing more than their female counterparts since everything is $1.

They did it with the quantity.

I could buy 8 double bladed pink razors for $1 or I could buy the bonus pack with 10 of the same god damn razors just in blue.

It just made me wonder how much money would I have saved being a man in basic maintenance alone.

You don't have to be a man. Just buy men's things. I know a lot of women that do that.

I do buy men's things. Men's razors, antiperspirants, and other health items are better quality and cheaper.

However for the price I have to pay for one bra, a man can go and get a complete suit.

Women are fleeced all the time on items that they know we cant go without like pads and tampons, underwear, things we cant go to the men's aisle for.

And as a kid, I wasnt allowed to buy the boy's products because my mother was both stupid and sexist. So how much money was wasted because the same thing had a pink label?

That isnt even counting the thousands of dollars that were wasted on the extra insurance premium just for being a woman.

Guys complain how men are penalized for being a man in car insurance? That is because statistically the more expensive wrecks are by men. Texting is closing that gap but the health insurance companies began adding additional fees for the same coverage when I turned 13 simply because I was female. I still have to fight the insurance company to this day to cover things or not based on my gender alone.

It wouldn't bother me so much if I were actually getting paid the same as a man, but with the wage gap and unfair merchandise practices, women are getting shafted.

Go international and it is even worse.

Seriously, bras are ridiculously priced. There's a reason I only own two. Because they're crazy expensive. They cost upwards of $70. For underwear!

It COULD depend on the stores not stocking the bras needed for a specific person.

For example, I have a friend who cannot purchase store bought bras because her large cup size is disproportional to her comparatively petite torso size, and most of the bras with her cup size in store are for people much larger than her. So she has to custom order her stuff which costs money up the ying yang.

I'm having to learn to pay the price

I'm really busty. Let's leave it there. The average cup size is much larger than the average store bra size.
