That was actually pretty cute. The derpibooru comments are pretty ass-pained, but that's par for the course. It'd work a little better if the dolls had more movable joints.

Here, have a fan-animation to help tide us over until the movie. Its kinda a sequel to this.

It would be interesting is one of the Shadowbolts (aside from Twilight) tried to make friends with one of the Humane Six, like some sort of Forbidden Friendship subplot. Because of course students from different schools can't be friends with each other, that's like a law of high school fiction or something.

Soundtrack is officially out.

I've only listened to the samples, and I expect the full thing to be up on youtube eventually, but of possible interest is "Unleash the Magic" and "What More is Out There".

"Unleash the Magic" Well if the lyrics are anything to go by Crystal Prep has found out about magic (no surprise) and are accusing Canterlot of using it during the games. Now, I'm going to give our heroines the benefit of the doubt here (and Vice-Principal Luna already warned them). I can see the girls doing something magical outside of the games and for the Crystal Prep students to make this assumption (If not I'm thinking blame will fall on Rainbow Dash).

More Lyrics: "Why can't we do the same?" so (supposedly at the moment) "cheating" is responded with even more cheating? "Were not friends here after all, our only interest in this business is seeing Canterlot High School Fall" "We only want what we deserve" "clinch the win and my legacy will endure" - Principal Cinch. Wow, I hope at least a few of the CP members aren't total jerks.

EDIT: This is SO going to backfire spectacularly on them. Even if she doesn't say anything I can imagine Sunset thinking about her own attempt at controlling a magical item she didn't understand and how well that went.

And I'm pretty sure they're singing the song to Human!Twilight, right? Oh dear...this won't end well.

Of course it won't end well.

From the looks of it especially since I can see Spike jumping towards Twilight, this clip is probably the scene right after the song ends. Enter: Midnight Twilight. Who'll probably be the "fallen angel" to Sunset's demon.

Anyone else expecting Midnight Twilight to pull a The Dog Bites Back? Because I honestly wouldn't blame her at this point.

I think it was confirmed by a Hasbro employee at a toy fair or something.

Midnight Sparkle actually. She has several toys being made of her and her accessories are in the toy app.

Woah, what? Human Twilight might become the EQG equivilent of Nightmare Moon or something like that? Okay, now I have to watch this movie when it comes out, because that sounds awesome.

I generally try to go into these things cold so I haven't listened to the songs yet, but I have read the lyrics for "Unleash the Magic". I don't suppose anyone else was vaguely reminded of Madame Morrible?

I wonder what will become of the Crystal Prep girls at the end of the film? Will they be given a chance to turn over a new leaf? Or will their fate be left open? As strange as it might sound when the magic goes out of control I'd like to see an Enemy Mine happen between them and the Rainbooms to save Twilight from herself if she does go One-Winged Angel.

Yeah, that would be cool if we could get the Crystal Prep girls to make a Heel–Face Turn by doing that. I could see that as happening, actually.

Depends on how much character they get. Although I suppose making them unrepentant jerkasses would fly in the face of what I presume would be a moral about not letting competitions get in the way of potential friendships...of something like that; I'm having trouble putting it into words.

If Twilight does go nuts on them that might be enough to cause a Heel Realization and begin the start of them becoming better people. Or maybe Cadance will get them to start rethinking their behavior (especially if like her Pony Counterpart she is Twilight's sister-in-law and use to babysit her). The events of the film will probably be the last straw for her.

TBH even if the Shadowbolts apologize I'm sort of expecting Twilight to transfer to Canterlot at the end of the film given the end credits song. Not that I would blame her.

Going off the previews and the soundtrack the Shadowbolts don't seem all that malicious. At least not in the same way Sunset or the Dazzlings were. For the most part they just seem to treat the Friendship Games as serious business seemingly due to Cinch.

So, yeah. They're endgame actions could go either way.

Edit: Wait a minute. Listening to Dance Magic there are a few mentions of Crystal Rainbooms. Fascinating.

Just asking, anyone else thinking "Acadeca" is probably going to be a montage of the various competitions in the games (with each time the Wonderbolts/Shadowbolts sing is when their team scores a point).
