I dunno, it could be a Flux Capacitor. Maybe.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Good teaser, but I'm rather skeptical about how great new console would be :P
It's been a good six and a half years. I'm excited to see what's up next.
this place needs me hereSo 600/800 dollar/euro console that has same graphics as previous console with possible minor improvements that make things look even more real which doesn't matter since 1) Most actually good developers don't put more effort in graphics than in gameplay 2) Who the heck wants realism in games anyway? and capability of sticking more enemies into same screen that doesn't really matter since not many game types use that design meaning that it provides new opportunities only for certain new games so its just really high costs develop console which will kill industry because games are getting more and more expensive and publishers afraid of new stuff? :P

I do have to question what on earth Sony is going to reveal. I know that they aren't in the best of positions right now, and with the Vita currently flopping, they need to have something that isn't just a graphics powerhouse.
I swear, if their next system is something that can do photo-realistic graphics, but is priced insanely high, all I'll be able to do is face-palm.
^And even then, I doubt its EASY for developers do Photo realistic graphics that isn't disorienting for players just like that :P It would take rather big budget to do that and make good textures and whatever not.
That's the second coolest logo involving a prominent circle, triangle, and square I've seen so far this year.
When this console hit 888 US dollars... you're gonna see some serious shit.
I have a message from another time...^What is the coolest one? Since this year means you have to have seen it last month :P
The one at the FIRST robotics kickoff.
I have a message from another time...I'd be extraordinarily surprised if Sony was dumb enough to price another console at anywhere near $599 US dollars.
this place needs me hereSony is essentially unveiling either a holodeck or The Matrix.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.^^But wouldn't they be selling it with major loss if it was priced lower? Unless its really not much more powerful than ps3?
Sony will have to find a way to reduce the price of the console to manageable levels. The price point was one of the major reasons that their start was such a blunder. Of course it's possible that they haven't learned anything, but even being the cynic I am I'd still like to give Sony more credit than that.
I'm sure that whatever comes out is gonna be super pretty...
However, it's also in all likelihood going to be a console that needs to be in front of a monitor, and Kaz already confirmed Vita's not getting a mention in this event. Which makes the announcement a bit of a non-starter for me seeing as:
- A: 90% of my gaming time now is while I'm in some sort of vehicle. (Bus, Train, etc.)
- B: I have a BC PS 3 that hasn't died yet. With about 50 games that can work on it in some capacity that I still need to get through.
- C: My next priority for home consoles is getting a box that will finally let me play Radiant Silvergun and my Mistwalker/Rare/Cave games I have sitting pretty in a box. Preferably one that won't leave large circular gouges in the latter whenever a minor earthquake occurs at home. (If Durango doesn't have both BC and a real laptop-style disc drive, I will pick up the shoddily built box that costs less with 70 million more units in the wild.)
So yeah, I'll gawk, and maybe snap up a couple "blink or miss it" games (what I'll be doing for that MonolithSoft Wii U game). But unless it's BC (unlikely given the rumormill surrounding PS4 architecture) and my black silicon anvil dies on me, I don't see myself getting one (or any next-gen box) until it's $200.

Hard Boiled Detective Since 1985Fresh, used. Doesn't matter to me. With my black hole of a gaming backlog, I can wait a year or 5 before biting. (Which is why I am thankful that my computer's OS isn't supported very extensively by Steam yet. ^^;)
Hard Boiled Detective Since 1985The Blu-Ray drive will be dirt cheap, so it won't be $500-$600 again.
Jonah FalconThat's...pretty early, isn't it? Have they given up on E3?

Nintendo has made all of it's announcements for the 8th generation through Nintendo Direct since the thing came out.
It's not new for this stuff to happen
I'm having to learn to pay the priceJust don't blow this. Sony struggled with the PS 3 early on and the Vita is still flailing. It had better not just be ultra HD or something. If it's $599 USD again it probably won't sell too well in this economy.
This is going to be the "Make it or break it" console, isn't it? Hasn't Sony's finances been set as "Junk"? Apparently that's a big deal. They might not have the financial stability now to release a new console at a loss, which everyone seems to do out of the gate.
I wonder how many gamers are going to buy into the next generation in any case.
Damn it sony. Now isn't the time. You need to get yourself out ofnthe hole before you do something like THIS...
Tech is marching on. I sure hope whatever it is announced, it has compatibility with the Vita.
Persona 3 Portable LiveblogYeah..I just upgraded to a 3DS myself..and my backlog of game son my ps3 is already large...plus if this has the fabled No used games whatsoever ..
Here we go, folks.
Obviously an unveiling of the PS 4, but I'm willing to bet a Vita price cut will be announced, too.
