In all fairness living is overrated.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.How much living you think a baby is doing in a trash can?
My various fanfics.Honestly, I found Rose more condescending to humans than Pearl and Garnet have ever been. At least they aren't constantly giggling at everything they do or treating them like playthings. Obviously Rose wasn't malicious about any of it but I thought it was a nice way of going with it. Realistically, I think more all loving heroes would be more like that.

More than it could if you dropped it off a cliff. Easily enough to where someone could potentially rescue it.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!i agree with you, actually.
admittedly i kind of fudged up the timeline in my head when i made that post and it hadn't dawned on me that rose and the gems had most likely won the war by the time they met up with greg (though i have the impression that some dialogue in story for steven that indicated this wasn't case). given that any deeper appreciation she had for humanity was developed long after the war.

You know how I thought in terms of Sailor Moon characters, Pearl would be the Luna? Now I've seen how the Sailor Moon S Movie is the story of 'thirsty' Luna.
"It's sad. And funny!" (that the dreams in which she's dying are the best she's ever had)
What if Yellow Diamond is actually a nice evil galactic imperialist.
Like "We're only trying to hollow out your planet because we're trying to save our species."
Sure they live for millenia, but nothing stays alive forever.
'Cept for the things that do.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Actually, some of Greg's dialogue in "The Return", along with his general behavior in that episode, has caused some to theorize that he's actually met a Homeworld gem before. As for why Greg never mentions it, well, he said that the Gems don't want Steven to see them that way.
I had that idea too. It certainly has potential.
"Why are you doing this?!"
(Alternatively, "This is for you own good.")
I feel like this should be the characterization of another Homeworld ruler, though. White Diamond, maybe?

Oh God! Natural light!I don't know about that. The way the Gems reacted when Peridot first appeared makes it seem like she's the first Home World gem (not counting Lapis) who had been there since the war ended.
What was their reaction like, again? Depending on how they phrased it, it's possible that there could have been a sort of "aftermath skirmish".
Oh God! Natural light!Pearl: "They're coming back! I can't do this, not again!" To me that sounds more like she doesn't want another war and not so much they've had a previous encounter with a gem relatively recently. Plus the whole episode focused on them thinking nothing could use the warp pads, which they've said have been out of commission for thousands of years, and Steven trying to convince them otherwise.
Edit: All in all I think people were reading too much into Greg's behavior. Like the ones thinking he was really a caveman or something. Given the situation and the subject him being nervous is completely understandable.

I think it could go both ways, personally. As for the warp pads, maybe the gem crashed a spaceship, or had been regenerating for a very long time.
Edit: For me, it's that one line of Greg's (paraphrased): "It was thousands of years ago, it's not like I was there!" Seems a little odd for him to put it like that. At the very least, the way he talked about it made it seem like he had experienced more than Rose telling him about it.
I don't think he was a caveman, though - I think his story is how his flashbacks present it to be.
I don't know, maybe I am reading too into it. I think it's an interesting theory, though, so I'll stick with it until it's disproven.

There's saving your species, but Peridot was made after the war and not on Earth, so...Of course, she's kind of a loser. And there's the implication that it needs to be a life-sustaining planet to work anyway.
Mom Diamond for the win though. Mom Diamond or overly friendly 'let's go swimming old chap' Diamond.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.But the little ones are like her babies!
However, you made me realized it may have been more recently than I had figured: I was previously assuming the battle 5000 years ago in the field surrounding the Pyramid Temple ended the war, but it could have gone on for quite a bit longer.
On a related note, I realized Amethyst may be less than 6000 years old: that's when the Kindergarten was made, but no one said she was made quickly—even with the Injectors, it could have taken hundreds or thousands of years to form gems from the Earth. Creating the clusters apparently took a long time as well, given Peridot said some of them "emerged early".
Amethyst emerged after the war already ended (like you said) so no more than 5000 years.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.I just rewatched the first three seasons of that show, and that remains one of my favorite episodes.
