Fixed that for you.
Jack is a great character, and I've seen enough bullshit regarding how Mass Effect fandom treats its female characters to even pretend I have any sort of tolerance for that shit.

My issue with Jack was that there were very few believable reasons why anyone with common sense would let an actively dangerous and mentally unstable biotic with the power to tear holes through the ship with no effort run round freely.
She was great in ME3 though.

This song needs more love.Uh huh...
Especially one that really, really hates the organization you're being railroaded into working for, has no loyalty to anyone involved, and really has no reason at all to even accept the offer. Doesn't seem to make any sense imo. Her being representative of ME-2's general shift from relatively grounded characters like Ashley to edgelords and cliches with exaggerated backstories like Miranda and Zaeed didn't help matters.
But this ain't the thread for that.

"It is very easy to be kind; the difficulty lies in being just."Man, all this shade being thrown around
Personally, I found it very hard by the end of the trilogy to find any squadmate that I didn't like. You get to a point where they all feel like your crew, warts and all. I actually really liked Jack. Her wardrobe was undeniably silly in 2, but I thought she was cool in 3.
Anyways, the Gameinformer article has some interesting tidbits, but the majority of other retailers seem to feel positively towards the game so I'm not too worried so far.
I mean, Purgatory is literally falling apart at the seams, and Jack really has no place to go otherwise. That seems reason enough.
But then again, Cerberus being responsible for why Jack is the way she is in ME 2 means that Jack never had a choice in the first place.

No it isn't, and neither is the general ME thread.
The French dub for MEA will include Alexandre Astier, which is a super nice touch. He created the Kaamelott TV show, and wrote the excellent latest Asterix animated movie, proving he was among the few people to get the original source right. He will voice a NPC, which is quite impressive as he is a very recognizable voice for French audiences, so I'd assume he would at least be a squaddie.

On another note, more Bioware Quality [TM] animation.
"It is very easy to be kind; the difficulty lies in being just."Is there an option to block posts from certain tropers? I could do without the constant shitposting.
Anti: If it is a constant issue just report it and let the mods sort it out.
The missus decided she wanted to pre-order the game so we have it pre-ordered now.
Who watches the watchmen? So which Squaddie looks the most interesting or cool personally?
I like Vetra, the krogan & is somewhat curious on the new alien guy Jaal.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Vetra seems nice-ish.
At least she's got a pretty cool design.
"It is very easy to be kind; the difficulty lies in being just."I'm hoping that Jaal is interesting, but I'm somewhat worried that his personality will be supplanted by the writer's need for him to be Mr. Exposition on the angara, like ME1 Tali.
Drack sounds like fun.
Vetra seems to be interesting: an apparent criminal past, but she's also the Team Mom.
Liam has a cool voice, but nothing else we've seen from him so far is particularly interesting. Most of the people who wrote the previews seemed to like him though,
Not sure what to make of Cora. I'm in the minority here, but I don;t mind her possibly being related to TIM.
Peebee's the least interesting of the bunch. I'm hoping that she has an interesting reason for being so Sera-ish. And this is coming from someone who likes Sera. I have a (completely unsupported) theory that she's an Ardat Yakshi. That could be interesting.

Yeah, on replaying ME 1 Tali is basically Data - there to explain the context of one of the mook types you meet. As well as an early Ma Guffin.
I think they may be a little more nuance with the writing, but we shall see.
As for combat - Inquisition was actually ok if you played a Beserker - the enemies actually DID something when you hit them with impact. It was magic that felt more underwhelming and MMO at times. Archery was rubbish for conveying impact.
At least in this there seems to be some weight - throwing an enemy evokes the old school "lift then biotic PUSH" which would send enemies into the next valley in ME 1.
So far it seems the enemies not staggered in videos are those with Armour, which'd make sense. You couldn't stagger shielded or armoured enemies before, only once you'd whittled them down a little.
I gave in and pre-ordered. No retail bonuses there though. Origin has some, but online no. Only the ridiculous £274 edition that comes with an RC car that looks like the Nomad...
There's a few "first 5-6 hours of Andromeda" videos on YT now that I'm not touching with a 10 foot pole.
You got Origin Access? I'd have given up and pre-ordered () already if they hadn't given us a chance to do a 7-days demo.
"The literal meaning of life is whatever you're doing that prevents you from killing yourself." Albert Camus
Ugh, going to have to tread carefully for the next month. Probably going to limit my visits to this thread.
I saw a pretty good discount so I pre-ordered the game over the weekend.
The bullet sponge complaint could easily be an Early Game Hell issue and not indicative of the full game.
I also really liked Jack in ME 2 and overall loved ME 2. Don't really care what others say and don't bother trying to convince me of 'But, it did nothing!' Or other arguments. Save your fingers the trouble. I liked the cast, I find ME 1 is hard to replay because of its focus on exposition and boring combat, and I find ME 3 is depressing and a bit lonely to me to consider an enjoyable experience. ME 2 was fairly balanced in tone.
So, if he liked the game, liked ME 2, and liked Jack, he's earned my attention to his words.
I do hope Liam doesn't end up being a foil for all of the more alien characters on the ship. It'll really start to look unfortunate if they do that and fail again with making a minority character not particuarly interesting -cough-Jacob-cough-.
No. These are VG outlets with preview builds.
I've rewatched the gameplay video and I noticed that biotic charge looks kinda weird when someone else is doing it, is that how Shepard looked when they did it and we just didn't notice?
They're using Frostbite now, so things look a little different.
First 17 Minutes of Pelessaria's loyalty mission.

"It is very easy to be kind; the difficulty lies in being just."Wow, Peebee's an asshole.
yeyThe opening cutscene was edited to avoid spoilers, but from what we've seen, Peebee is far, far worse than Sera. I like her voice actress though. Gameplay still looks fun.
>Far worse than Sera
Oh Lord help us.
Hopefully she's not like that all the way >_< Why can we not have another chipper character like Tali or Mission in a Bio Ware game again?
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.
Unfortunately his credibility took a huge hit for me when he said ME-2 was the best one.
Not sure where you're getting your numbers. I have the SP gun spreadsheet from BSN open right now and it says the Black Widow I does 514 base damage. On Normal difficulty an Assault Trooper has 750 health for comparison.
Note also that the Avenger did 39 damage and the Carnifex 244. This is about in line with the damage they did in ME-3. The Avenger I had a base damage of 38, the Carnifex I had 276. They probably just jacked up every enemy's health in comparison to compensate.
Nice to see that the in-game values are still broadly lore compliant. Same for DPS and weight too. ME pistols are still heavy as fuck with the Carnifex being at least half the weight of the Avenger (~2+ kg, slightly heavier than a Desert Eagle).
