You reminded me of something, though.

M.E. 2 told us that newer Reapers were created in the image of the organics that were harvested to make them, right? Hence the giant human Reaper.

So why do almost all of the ones we see look like the Leviathans, more or less? (With the big guys like Sovereign and Harbinger looking pretty much exactly like them, and the smaller ones like the one that got eaten by Kalros and the one that was killed on Rannoch looking sort of different but still vaguely squiddy)? What about Prothean-looking Reapers? What about Reapers that look like whatever species' that were harvested before the Protheans but after the Leviathans?

The Law of Conservation of Detail , imagine having to make the whole reaper army a Cast of Snowflakes ...

I thought only the cores were shaped like races. Outside is always Leviathan.

The ME 2 artbook says that only the cores are designed to look like the race they're made from.

That makes a lot more sense. I was having a hard time envisioning a robo human flying around space shooting lasers at things.

Also theoretically, if the Reapers had won during Shepard's cycle, and I mean properly win, none of this refusal and the crucible gets used bullshit.

Would the next cycle be seeing all the Marauders, Banshees, Cannibals, etc. being used in the same way the Collectors were used in Shepard's cycle?

Most likely not. The husks didn't seem as intelligent as the Collectors, not enough to operate semi-autonomously, and apparently the Collectors were only created because the Reapers couldn't make a Reaper out of the Protheans for whatever reason.

I think I'm going to attempt to count the number of enemies Shepard and co kill throughout these games. Or at the very least Mass Effect 1. It gives me something new to do while replaying the series for the fifth time.

I feel like the Blood Pack, Eclipse and Blue Suns should be out of business by the end of Mass Effect 2.

I mean you killed like at least half their employees and a bunch of officers.

The Galaxy is a huge place. There would be other people to pick up the slack and there would be duplicate files to keep track of who owe what.

Also there are cyborg-zombies rading everything everywhere, that should give mercs some customers...

The Blue Suns, at least, own whole planets (Korlus, Zorya). Their numbers should be, on the low end, in the single digit millions. The Blood Pack don't, but they have significant influence on Tuchanka, and the Eclipse effectively serve as the military for several independent planets. I haven't counted yet, but you definitely kill less than one thousand of each in the second game, so they should barley notice a difference.

Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to let a PMC grow that big? That's some Metal Gear Solid 4 War Economy type shit there and it's just happening?

That's the thing. They live outside Council Space, and are thus Not Our Problem(TM)

Well then maybe a human on the council would teach them aliens a thing or two about intervening in a foreign affair for "humanitarian" reasons.

Considering the personalities of some of the other races, I'd be surprised if they hadn't done that sort of thing before.

Very technically speaking, the Council does send a reinstated Shepard to deal with shit going down in the Terminus Systems.

Which from their POV is prolly Reassigned to Antarctica...

Still, it's not a bad idea to keep tabs on problems that aren't your problem, because if they get bigger, they may end up being your problem.
