Mass Effect: Andromeda

So guys....IGN and a couple other sites have basically confirmed ME 4. They even asked fans questions. Thoughts?

You could post a link in your op if it is pertinent to the topic. It is basically providing the source for the discussion you started.

Why? 3 hasn't even been out for a year.

Which is why they would probably release it 2014 or 2015.

I still feel like it's too soon to announce it. Start working on it, sure, but announcing it now?

It was barely even an announcement, just a confirmation from Bioware that their working on it and are curious about what fans want to see in it.

Yes, I have. It just pales to the main game.

Gotta disagree there. The only time in the past month I've touched the campaign was when PSN went down.

Yup, ME 3 Multiplayer is much more robust gameplay wise than the actual campaign. You're limited to only 3 powers a character of course, but the sheer variety of powers available makes MP much more exciting. You've got teleporting space ninjas, jetpack turians, biotic gods, etc., etc,

Plus map hazards, gear/module/amp mechanics, mission objectives, and a greater variety of enemies.

Okay maybe I was wrong. Some things I want to see next game:

Hanar and Volus as team members. Would require some technical improvements.

Better boss battles

I just want boss battles to return period. The only ones in Mass Effect 3 were Kai Lame and a few cutscene bosses. That and vehicle sections, more giant mooks, a larger squadmate limit...

Also, as far as we know, no sequel will ever exist. That information was fake, and Bioware has gone on record saying that all future Mass Effect games will be set before or during 3, but never after it.

Well, that certainly limits their options. Because of that infamous ending, a sequel would have to either go blue or red, as green doesn't seem possible.

There was a dev tweet a while back asking fans whether they'd want the next ME game to be a sequel or a prequel.

And they were overwhelmingly against it being a prequel. It was the one thing they agreed on.

I just don't think much prequel info is very good for a game. Rachni war? Doesn't compare to Reapers. First Human Contact? Samething.

Nothing compares with the Reapers. They're galactic extinction level villains whose influence goes back billions of years. I'd highly prefer a game running parallel to the main series, set on a single planet, with a much smaller scale villain. Your actions and choices will have a huge effect on the hundreds of millions of people living on that planet... but not on a galactic scale, so it's plausible Shepard simply never hears of it in the game. He routinely passes by planets with hundreds of millions of people just to scan them. There are so many untold stories in this universe.
