"The deuteragonist (from Greek: second actor) is the second important character in the story; the first is, of course, The Protagonist."
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.JAFAAC. Purge it.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableJAFAAC.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.+1 to pull.
Pull it. Textbook JAFAAC: you must be familiar with the work for it to have any meaning at all.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Also, what could be used to illustrate this trope? A shot of a secondary character with the main one standing in the foreground? Current image, btw, and agree on pulling:

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYou still need to be familiar with the work and the characters for the picture to mean anything. All the inoformation would be in the caption. JAFAAC.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Edited my post, because it was being a bit ambiguous.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI don't think so.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableYank it hard.
Evil is my favorite color. It's yanked.
Clock is set.
The only trick I can imagine is having a pair of panels — one with the protagonist and one with the deuteragonist. Even that, I don't know if it would really convey.
Clock's up; locking for inactivity. No further action is to be taken based on this thread.
This is so confusing I can't even tell whether it's JAFAAC or not.
Is the blurry character in the foreground the deuteragonist? Is the clear character the deuteragonist?
In the former case, it's just unclear; in the latter case hell yes is it JAFAAC; Kill It with Fire.
Evil is my favorite color.
